Hello from the CEO
Dear CFCU Member,
Do you remember the song “Let the Sunshine In”? I can remember
singing it with my Granny Barnett when I was a little girl. I believe the next
lines were: Face it with a grin, smilers never lose and frowners never win. So
let the sunshine in, face it with a grin, open up your heart & let the sunshine in!
With our summer promotion we are trying to bring a smile to your face
and make you a winner. You should smile because we have excellent rates and
you will be a winner because we are here to take care of your financial needs
and will work with you through thick and thin!
Recently I was talking with a member that moved their loan to another
financial institution for a lower rate. She said she asked the person processing
the loan how they could offer such a ridiculously low rate for the excessive
term for payback. The answer she was given was, “We aren’t making ANY
money on your loan; we just hope you will move your checking account to us
and overdraft so that we can make overdraft fees off of you.” Wow, how horrible!
We would never encourage our members to overdraft just so we could
have the income. Our goal at Clinchfield is to show you how to spend your
money wisely. We want a lifetime membership with you and will sit down at
any time and counsel you on how to save, borrow and make the most of your
money.
Most of us can use extra money in the summertime so we are offering
no loan payment on new loans for 90 days! The extra money can be used for
vacation (smiling on the beach), home fix-it projects (my favorite), or school
expenses for children (smiling because they are going to back to school!)
Something else to smile about is how well Jenny Morefield is doing
after her recent surgery. Jenny is still not back at work but she is healing
nicely and we are in constant contact with her. We miss her greatly and look
forward to good health for her and getting her back at work.
Prayers have also been answered for our Supervisory Committee
Chairman, Bob Likens, through his recent surgery. I told him, “You can’t
keep a good man down” and apparently he listened!
Congratulations to our Little League Team! Coach David Hatcher said
they had an excellent season and a great group of young men that worked hard
and ended up in first place with NO LOSSES! Talk about something to smile
about!
Congratulations also to the Lady Devils on their excellent season, 36
Wins/7 Losses/2 Tied. They placed 5th in the state and broke the state team
homerun record with 61 homeruns and Tiffany Laughren
broke the individual record with 23 homeruns and Taylor
Wright is close behind in third place. The team is second in
the nation for homeruns and Tiffany is fourth! More
smiles!
Special Note to Granddaughter Carly….
You ARE my sunshine and you make me smile all the
time! Thanks for teaching me what to do when the team
lost at the state tournament!
Sandy
