Holiday Gifts for Homebound Clients Meals on Wheels Delivering Gifts
Merrimack - St. Joseph Community Services, Inc., the provider
of Meals on Wheels and Community Dining throughout Hillsborough
County is looking for holiday gifts
for its elderly and disabled homebound clients.
Members of the community who
wish to contribute can do so in two
ways. Donors can provide the gift
of meals; one week of hot meals is
$40; two weeks of hot meals is $80;
and one month of meals is $173.
Donors can also contribute by purchasing a gift. Our goal is to be able
to present a gift to each and every
one of our clients in time for the
holidays.
Some suggested holiday gift ideas
include:
Personal size hand sanitizer, unscented hand lotion, body lotion,
shampoo, shower gel, soaps, facial
tissues, washcloths, socks, crackers, non-perishable cheeses, cookies, chocolates, candies, tea, coffee,
cocoa, coffee mug, puzzle books,
blank note cards, stamps, playing
cards. You may wish to buy any-
thing listed above or you may substitute other appropriate gifts.
St. Joseph Community Services
fosters independence and life enrichment for the elderly and other
qualified adults through nutrition,
social engagement and community services. We provide a hot, nutritious meal and a safety check to
older and disabled adults and have
provided 11 million meals to older and disabled adults throughout
Hillsborough County since it was
formed in 1977. Please help us make
our clients’ holidays special this
year.

Monadnock Humane Society Holiday Craft
Fair – “Handcrafted for the Holidays”
Swanzey– Monadnock Humane Society is holding its 6th annual craft fair – “Handcrafted for
the Holidays” - at the Adoption
and Learning Center at 101 West
Swanzey Road in Swanzey from
10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday,
December 8th. Proceeds from the
Craft Fair will go towards the care
of the animals.
The “Handcrafted for the Holidays” Craft Fair promises something for everyone. More than 40
local crafters and gift vendors will
present their wares and make for
one-stop shopping for all your holiday gifts. Offerings include handmade chocolates, soaps, jewelry,
textiles, birdhouses, one-of-a-kind
artwork, doggie clothing, toys and
accessories, and much more!
Monadnock Humane Society
will again be selling natural balsam wreaths, pine roping, swags,
and handmade bows. There will
be a brown-bag raffle of items from
some of the vendors. All proceeds
from the wreath sale, raffle, lunch
and bake sale will directly support
the animals at the Humane Society.
There will also be an adoption event
taking place at the Adoption Center
- “Home for the Holidays” – offering adoption specials, a tree lighting with carols, and a Holiday Photo
opportunity with your furry family
member(s). (Please make sure dogs
are leashed and cats, rabbits, and
other small pets are secured in carriers.)
The Handcrafted for the Holidays Craft Fair is a great opportunity to kick off the holiday season,
do some gift shopping, and help to
raise some much-needed funds to
support the life-saving work of Monadnock Humane Society.”

Tad Dreis, Folk Pop Artist
Peterborough – The Peterborough Unitarian Universalist
Church’s Parish Hall Open Stage
will be featuring a local artist, Tad
Dreis on Friday, December 7th at
7:30PM. Dreis plays a smart, quirky
folk-pop music with heart and a
sense of humor, plus a rocking harmonica. His fourth CD is titled “The
Reluctant Hook.”
Tad Dreis is a folk-pop singer-songwriter who has released four
original CDs and toured nationally
on the college circuit for five years.
He moved to the Monadnock region from North Carolina last year,
and also plays guitar and harmonica at Irish sessions and contra dances. Readers can access the Tad Dreis

JAFFREY – Monadnock Bible

is joining Elliot Family Medicine at Amherst
Evelyn Joan Patterson passed
away in her Sterling Va. home on
November 23, 2012. Born in Neptune, NJ on July 15, 1934 Evelyn was
devoted to the Catholic Faith. She
grew up on 72nd St. in NYC. Evelyn was the daughter of John Gilmore and Lillian Kelly Patterson and
granddaughter of John and Margaret Campbell Kelly of NY. Evelyn
is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Anne Patterson Grunbeck, son
in law Robert Grunbeck and three
grandchildren; John, Michael, and
Mitchell of Amherst.
Evelyn was a graduate of the
Blessed Sacrament School in NY.
She held several executive positions over her life while living in
New York, the Bahamas, Boca Raton, FL., and Virginia. She spent
the last 21 years living in Sterling
Va. where she started and ran her
own executive Office Suites. Evelyn was an avid reader and loved
spending time in NYC. She lived
her life “Her Way”, thank you Frank
Sinatra. Her life was filled with an
eclectic group of friends and she
made her way into your heart without you even knowing it. She will
be greatly missed. Donations in her

funds to projects whose purpose is for the betterment of the Town,
projects which have the greatest impact on the largest portion of the
citizens of Amherst, projects which have lasting impact to the Town

SHARE and Operation Tribute
The Milford Knights of Columbus council 3035 cordially invites
all to our annual Turkey Cheer to
be held on Friday, November 16 beginning at 7:00 pm in the church
hall below Saint Patrick’s Church
at 34 Amherst Street in Milford.
This fun family event provides people an opportunity to win a turkey,
chocolates, or a bottle of “cheer” (al-
cohol or non-alcohol) for 50 cents
per round. We will hold 25 rounds
of drawings this year. All proceeds
from the Turkey Cheer rounds will
go to SHARE. All proceeds from
a 50-50 raffle will go to Operation Tribute (a program to provide
Christmas gifts for children of active military members). Refreshments will be available.
