 JOB DESCRIPTION: CYLINDER TRUCK DRIVER LOCATION: MEMPHIS, TN nexAir, LLC is a supplier of high-­‐quality industrial, specialty, medical and bulk gases, dry ice, welding equipment, welding supplies and medical equipment. The Cylinder Truck Driver fills an important role within nexAir’s operations. This position will deliver products to businesses, institutions and other customers on a scheduled route or intermittently. The employee will serve customers by meeting customer needs and resolving customer problems, driving a straight truck loaded with compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders and hard goods for delivery to the customers on the scheduled route and performing other duties as necessary. Specific Job Responsibilities: • Safely uploading, delivering and downloading customers’ hard goods orders, as well as cylinders containing compressed gases and returning empty cylinders to plant for refilling. • Maintaining load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries. • Establishing and maintaining good customer relations by communicating in person with customers and providing information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc. • Identifying and monitoring customers’ needs and working with them to maintain proper hard goods and cylinder levels to minimize or eliminate emergency deliveries. • Operating a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. • Ensuring all safety rules are strictly observed.
Qualifications: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • One (1) year of driving experience. • CDL A or B with HAZMAT. • Employee must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by the Department of Transportation (DOT). • Clean MVR driving record. • Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete for an extended period of time, bend, use hands and arms, and handle cylinders regularly weighing 150 lb., up to a maximum of 600 lb. The employee also occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and hazardous materials and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risks of electrical shock.
