Halltech 2015 Z06 Stinger CKNZ Installation
Remove MAF sensor wire harness; remove the radiator duct from the radiator; remove the PCV line
connected to the intake tube; loosen all hose clamps and remove the stock air induction system.
Preparation of the engine bay for the Halltech A section (airbox):
1)
Slide the B section (BRIDGE section) through the airbox hole, turn to allow the MAF tower to
pass
2) Tighten the two screws (1/8” Allen head) affixing the Bridge to the Airbox. Install the foam
trim provided. It is 3M heat activated. We clean the airbox with alcohol, dry completely,
then wrap around the bridge (heating the trim slightly help it adhere)
3) Put the PCV nipple into the B Section
4) Install the MAF sensor with the Viton washers between the MAF tab and MAF tower
5) Install the filter, pushing it all the way on and tighten the hose clamp. Install the airbox lid
using the 4 screws. This whole assembly may come pre-assembled from Halltech

Install the airbox using the Dome head screw from the stock airbox as the only bolt on the
right tab.
7) Use one of the long screws from the stock airbox on the right side. It will be necessary to
push down on that side of the airbox to align the screw with the hole, but it will fit. Leave
these screws loose for now.
8) Install the hump connector hose to the throttle body and tighten only the clamp to TB. Leave
the other hose clamp off for now.
9) Push the B section into the hump hose, but make sure it is not folded over (very important).
It will move freely. Push it in as far as possible and have someone hold it while you install the
hose clamp. Tighten that clamp, but do not over tighten. Revisit that tightening after 20
miles to make sure it is still tight.
10) Now tighten the two screws in front of the airbox you left loose that hold the B section to the
A section (airbox)
11) Tighten the Dome head screw, then the 10mm bolt- Make sure the lid surface is flush with
the fender top, or even slightly down (1/16” is ok, but flush will give the airbox .225”
12) Run the PCV line under the B-Section and connect to the PCV nipple. Turn the nipple
downward, and twist the hard line quick disconnect to meet the nipple. 360° movement.
13) Plug in the MAF Sensor wire and lock it. NEVER TRY TO START OR TURN ON THE IGNITION
WITH THIS WIRE OFF. YOU WILL GET A TROUBLE CODE. IT WILL GO AWAY AFTER A FEW
RESTARTS, OR BATTERY DISCONNECT, BUT JUST WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING IS GOOD TO GO.
14) When you are sure everything is secure and all wiring plugged in, close the hood. This is a
lightweight carbon fiber hood, so you have to push it hard from the center of the hood.
When it is fully latched, start the engine. If you start it with the hood open, you will get a
REDUCED POWER MESSAGE. That is fine, and it too will go away after a few startups with the
hood closed. We find that opening and closing the hood a couple times, resets the safety
code. Just remember, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR CAR. THIS IS A GM SAFETY
PROTOCOL TO PREVENT YOU DRIVING WITH THE HOOD AJAR. This message will disappear
after opening and closing the hood a couple of times with the ignition off.
15) Let your engine idle for 5 to 7 minutes, it should now be in Closed Loop. Startup is Open
Loop fuel enrichment to help with startup. Closed loop is where the O2 sensors provide
oxygen feedback to the ECM. It regulates stoichiometric air fuel ratio at 14.1:1 (e10 ratio)
16) It may take 30 to 50 miles for every fuel cell to relearn the new airflow tables. Just note that
the Z06 does not trip into Open Loop fuel enrichment until 70% throttle position. That
means you will be running stoichiometric all the time until you get way into the throttle. It is
not necessary to floor the car during the relearn, in fact, it will not help anything. You need
to drive normally, and use the throttle in all kinds of positions to help the relearn process.
17) PROGRAMMING IS NOT NECESSARY OR RECOMMENDED WITH OUR INTAKE SYSTEM. IT WAS
DESIGNED TO KEEP YOUR AIR FUEL RATIO STOCK FROM THE FACTORY SETTINGS.
UNDERSTAND, HOWEVER, THE FULL POTENTIAL OF OUR INTAKE CANNOT BE REALIZED WITH
THE FACTORY TUNE, BUT POTENTIALLY LOSING YOUR WARRANTY IS NOT WORTH THE EXTRA
POWER FROM TUNING.
