The AEM/DriverFX.com RWD Civic was developed with two goals in mind: create the World’s Fastest Sport Compact and use that platform to
test AEM products in the harsh environment of drag racing. In 2003 AEM achieved these goals by capturing the “World’s Fastest” title, and becoming
the World’s Quickest and Fastest Honda. Additionally, our racecar was only the fifth Sport Compact to join the NHRA’s 200 MPH Club. In 2004, the
AEM/DriverFX.com Drag Civic set the National Elapsed Time (E.T.) and Mile-Per-Hour records utilizing off-the-shelf AEM Cam Gears, Fuel Pressure
Regulators, Engine Management, C2DI Ignition Module and Wideband UEGO Controller.
After a crash during testing that caused the team to miss the first three NHRA events in 2004, AEM Racing was the #1 qualifier in six of the next
seven events while making 11 final round appearances with six victories, set the National E.T. record three times, culminating in a 6.54-second E.T.,
and set the National MPH record at 211.73. The team also overcame a huge points deficit to enter the World Finals tied for First Place. As AEM
continues to lead the industry in technological innovation, the Drag Civic will serve as a test bed, ensuring that AEM performance products will
withstand the harshest racing and performance environments.
In 2005, AEM Racing will compete at both professional Drag
Race and professional Drift events. AEM Racing has developed a 2004
Honda S2000 for professional Drifting, which will also serve as a test
bed for AEM and DC Sports performance products and electronics.

Factory Training Seminars
Join the over 80 tuning shops in North America who are AEM Factory Trained Tuners!
AEM’s EMS Training Seminars are open to technicians of qualified tuning shops only (not
open to the public at this time) and are limited to eight attendees per seminar to ensure
one-on-one interaction with AEM EMS engineers. The training seminars are two days
long, with the second day focusing on the dyno performing hands-on tuning. Topics
covered include how to successfully install and tune an AEM EMS including tuning for
boost, fuel, closed-loop AFR, cold startup and more. Seminars are free of charge;
however, attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodations. Upon
successful completion of the seminar, attendees are given a certificate of completion
and put on AEM’s referral list of factory-trained tuners in the sales department and on

Developmental Quality Control
Once AEM designs a prototype intake system, there are several tools used to ensure that the same design that fit perfectly during development
makes it into an AEM Induction System box. One of these tools creates a digital blueprint of the prototype that allows us to electronically transfer
the exact product dimensions to one of our computerized CNC mandrel benders. In addition to speeding up the production process, this tool
ensures that your AEM intake will fit perfectly every time, on every car.

V2 INDUCTION SYSTEM
V2 Induction System
The Most Powerful Air Induction System Available
On a dyno graph, the area under the power band (or power curve)
represents the amount of effort that an engine is producing. The larger the
overall area under the curve, the more power your engine is making. The AEM V2 utilizes a dual chamber (using two
different diameters and lengths of piping) that creates multiple frequency sound waves to produce the largest area under
the curve of any intake system on the market. These sound waves help charge the cylinders with more air throughout the
entire rpm range and are what enables the V2 to outperform even our own Cold Air systems.
We have found that inlet length plays a vital role in the power production of V2 systems and not all V2 induction systems
relocate the filter outside of the engine compartment. In these cases, we performed extensive temperature testing to locate
the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible.

Dyno Testing
AEM has established and published consistent dyno testing procedures for its products. We do our testing the same way every time, so that
when you do your own test you will get the same results. Our Mustang dynamometer uses a real-time data acquisition program for ambient
temperature, barometric pressure and relative humidity, eliminating the chance of wrong correction factors being applied to dyno results. Our
dyno room is climate controlled for consistency and so that we can perform both “hot” and “cold” testing. In addition to our testing procedures
(published in detail on aempower.com), we only publish results for vehicles with engines that have exceeded the manufacturer break-in period,
and test on multiple vehicles to further ensure consistency.

Unbeatable Under the Hood
IIn most cases, AEM Short Ram induction systems are offered as an economical alternative to our Cold
Air systems. However, during the development process, we found certain applications respond
favorably to shorter inlet lengths over our longer Cold Air designs. For these applications (denoted with an
asterisk on the application chart), we offer a Short Ram system only, since these are the best performing intakes for
some vehicles. We perform extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine
compartment. This allows our Short Ram systems to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. Please see our

Waterproof Your Cold Air System
AEM’s patented Air Bypass Valve virtually eliminates the chance of hydro-lock
in the event the filter of your AEM Cold Air induction system becomes
submerged in water. On most systems, the valve installs along the upper
portion of the inlet pipe and shuts down induction at the filter when it
becomes submerged, rerouting air through its external diaphragm to
keep water out and air flowing in. Check with your dealer or call AEM
for more information on air bypass valve installation locations.

AEM BRUTE FORCE intakes are designed for popular trucks, SUVs and musclecars, and dyno-tested to
create more torque and horsepower than any other intake for large displacement engines. At AEM, our
mechanical engineers emphasize tuning the resonance properties of the inlet pipe to help carry more
air to the intake valves. We use aluminum piping for this, because plastic absorbs some of the sound
energy we manipulate to create power, and mild steel is heavy and can rust. We route our plumbing so
that the filter draws air from the safest and coolest location, and provide a steel powdercoated heat
shield to shroud the filter from engine heat and road dirt. We emphasize maximum flow without
sacrificing low-end torque, and design our filters to meet SAE filtration standards. Every BRUTE FORCE
Intake we make is submitted to C.A.R.B. for 50-state exemption, and we guarantee them for life.

AEM's Plug & Play Engine Management System (EMS) plugs directly

Eliminate Low Response, High
Impedance “Saturated” Injectors!
AEM is proud to introduce its external Peak & Hold Injector Driver
module! This unit allows ECU’s that have a saturated injector drive
circuit to trigger low impedance injectors with a true 4/1 Peak &
Hold injector drive circuit.
AEM’s Peak & Hold Injector Driver contains 10 independent
injector drive channels. Each channel supplies full battery voltage to
a fuel injector for rapid current rise, in order to produce positive injector
opening. When load current reaches 4.1A (amps), the injector driver reduces
the load current to 1.1A and operates as a constant current source. This condition
holds the injector open, and reduces system power dissipation. If the current fails to
reach 4.1A within 5mS, the driver module automatically reduces the load current to 1.1A.
Installation is straightforward. Users simply hook the injector trigger wires from an ECU to the
module, and then hook the output wires from the module to your injectors. Any number of
channels can be used from one to 10.

without the use of a laptop. AEM’s UEGO Display Gauge includes a 0-5 Volt analog output that can be used with
data-loggers or most aftermarket engine management systems, and includes an RS 232 serial data output
port for data logging without an engine management system. AEM’s UEGO Display Gauge is calibrated
to work with AEM UEGO sensor controllers ONLY. These units display to 0.1 AFR, feature 24 color-coded
LED display lights for immediate reference to engine AFR, and have an integrated three-digit real-time

Accurate 02 Control
The AEM/DriverFX.com Civic uses an off-the-shelf AEM Twin-Channel Wideband UEGO Controller (Part # 30-2300) to monitor and control AFR. AEM
Racing does this by utilizing the unit’s 5v output signal for feedback control to the AEM EMS, although all of AEM’s UEGO sensor controllers work
with any stand-alone engine management system. That said, we highly recommend our EMS.

The AEM Electronics Test Bench has the capability of testing both fuel components and ignition components. AEM’s resident injector guru (“Flow
master” Jeremy Negen) uses the EMS test bench to determine battery offsets of OEM and popular aftermarket injectors. This data is continually

AEM Tru-Time Adjustable Cam Gears are used on AEM Racing’s World-record-setting RWD and FWD Civics, and by other top racing teams across the
country. AEM Tru-Time Cam Gears are a must for engines that are milled, forced induction, high compression and/or utilizing aftermarket competition
cams. Our gears enable users to match cam timing with their vehicle's tuning state by advancing or retarding the cam profile in one-degree increments
via true laser-etched markings. Precision-cut gear teeth ensure no premature wearing of the belt surface and AEM's anodizing on the gear teeth is
lab-test proven as the hardest anodizing process on the market.
AEM has created a five-bolt design for popular Tru-Time Adjustable Cam Gears, after having practically the same design
since we introduced adjustable cam gears to the sport compact market in 1996. When the opportunity was presented
to freshen the design, we listened to our customers and created a unique look using their input. Cam gears with an
updated design have incurred a part number change from 23-6XX to 23-8XX. AEM’s classic full-faced, three-bolt
design will still be available for some applications.

Bored Big for High Volume Delivery
AEM High Volume Fuel Rails feature a 1/2-inch fuel bore, which is capable of flowing enough fuel to support applications up to 1,000
horsepower. This large bore also dampens backpressure pulses created by larger injectors and works perfectly with stock
injector sizes. An additional 1/8th NPT port is included to accommodate a nitrous set up or fuel pressure gauge. A custom
fuel line fitting is included for the factory fuel line, and the ends of each rail are pre tapped to accept -6 AN or
9/16”x18 fittings for users who want to use custom fuel lines.

Feeding The Beast
We got the idea for manufacturing fuel delivery products from our time at the drag strip in the mid 90s. Back then, guys were still trying to provide
fuel for 500+ horsepower cars through factory components, which could not supply the oversized injectors. We took the technology from the
rails on the AEM/DriverFX.com FWD Civic and the rest is history. Our High Volume Fuel Rails were literally developed at the track.
