Every country has its specific requirements,

Public Transport Victoria were reviewing operational
systems and looking for a reliable vigilance & data logger
system to handle a wide range of both analogue and digital
inputs with easy access - by USB, laptop or wireless - plus
GPS positioning, crash proof memory modules, and an
independent power source.
Faiveley Transport, drawing on local expertise & experience
of the customers operational needs, designed an “All in One”
VICERS (Vigilance, Control and Event Recording System)
based on the renowned VM40 data logger. The VICERS (in
the TOM range) offers simple integration and installation
with less weight, less wiring and more functions.

Safe, smooth circulation on the tracks is a
necessity, and accurate signalling is never more
vital than with High Speed trains.
Ansaldo STS were looking for a technical partner to integrate
odometry modules into its ETCS, the signalling and train
control element of ERTMS.
Faiveley Transport’s renowned experience in safety
equipment and speed measurement made them the logical
choice. This required real teamwork between hardware, software &
system engineers to design a 3-way odometry system based
on wheel speed sensors and Doppler radar.
The specific know-how in the detection and pre-emptive
control of wheel slip/slide plus the high accuracy in radar
speed measurement– even in difficult situations – have made
a major contribution to Ansaldo’s high performance system
with an excellent availability / safety balance.
This committed, ‘behind-the-scenes’ partnership has
secured markets for the KTX in Korea but also for other
trains and locomotives in Europe and all over the world.

Today’s trains run across national boundaries
and must be able to interface with different
national systems.
DB, for the Velaro D project, required a tachometry and a train
data recorder entirely compatible with French, German and
ERTMS signalling systems.
Faiveley Transport provided the 3rd generation ATESS unit with
various interfaces perfectly suitable for all signalling systems in
Europe. It includes the ERTMS-compatible tachometry, the BRS
automatic train protection and 3 in ONE event recorders with a
crash-proof memory cartridge (French, German and ERTMS
JRU). This high level of integration into ATESS saves space and
simplifies installation on board the train.
Efficient driving analysis is essential for the railway operators.
SAM flexibility allows easily customised data presentation, thus
greatly simplifying analysis for the users.
