The production has sold out over the
four nights. This means there will be no
door sales. Entry is by ticket only. We
have been delighted with the positive
response from our community to the
show and we are looking forward to
our year five and six students
performing to capacity audiences each night.
If you have a ticket, please note the doors will open at 6.40pm each night for a
7.00pm start. We need the time before 6.40pm to complete sound checks for all
the characters who are separately micro phoned for their character.
There is no interval and we expect the show to run for approximately one hour
and 20 minutes give or take a few minutes
Let the show begin.

Welcome
Stella Mae McFarlane arrived in
on 30 July.
We Still Need Your Books!
Congratulations to Holly Hopcoft
and partner Will on their
gorgeous new addition.
We know the students at Saritdidet School in Thailand would be hugely
appreciative of books in English. Hence, if you can send books to school that
are surplus to your requirements and are in good condition, namely books you
would be happy to receive for your children, we would welcome your donations.
We will arrange for these books to be sent to the school. Of course, if you have
any contacts in the international freight forwarding business we would love to
hear from you as I don’t imagine getting the books to the school will come
cheaply. This is a great opportunity to share books with others in the spirit of:
Not Self But Service.

DATES TO NOTE FOR THIS TERM:
Tuesday 16 August: Rescheduled day for final round of the rippa rugby and tackle rugby tournament for selected
students in years 3 to 6 at Windsor Park.
Wednesday 7 September: Sports Photos
Tuesday 13 September: Inter Schools Cross Country for selected students in years 5 and 6.
Thursday 15 September: Save Day for Inter Schools Cross Country.
Gymnastics
Practices with Mrs Brown will start after the Lion King production in Week 5.
The teams for the North Harbour competition will be smaller this year because of the hall being used for the production
rehearsals.
It is important that children come to the trial on the day that is advertised in the school Day Sheet. If children don’t come
without a good excuse, like being sick on that day, they will miss out this year. Teams will be selected on gymnastics
ability and commitment.
I look forward to seeing all enthusiastic children in Week 5.

Lost Sports Jacket
Last term, my dear Charlie wore to school her sister Alex’s Black Forrest Hill Soccer jacket with a hood - waterproof and
is fleece lined on the inner. It has “Alex Twose” embroidered on the front of the jacket as well as me writing it with
permanent marker on the inside.
She ‘thinks’ she left it in the sports shed one lunch time while she was helping out - it hasn’t been seen since! I was
quietly hoping it would turn up - and it hasn’t it was brand spanking new with a cost of $50. I am very keen to find it!
Surely it must be somewhere at school. I have looked in all the places of lost property etc, even in the sports shed.
If anyone knows the whereabouts or has seen this jacket please contact Cushla in the school office. Many thanks.
