Vera
Sunday 7th February, 8pm
The sixth series of the crime drama set in
contemporary Northumberland and Newcastle,
starring award-winning actress Brenda Blethyn as
Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope, continues. In the
second episode, Tuesday’s Child, Vera and the team
investigate the mysterious death of Jamie Thorne, a
young man whose remains are discovered in remote
caves in an area known to the police as notorious for
illicit teenage gatherings. With no sign of a weapon,
the only clues Vera has to work with are a crucifix
found on the body and ticket stubs for Pevensey’s
funfair in Jamie’s pocket. Owner Bobby Pevensey
(Sean Gilder) and his wife Morven (Julia Ford)
confirm that Jamie worked for them and lived onsite in a caravan. A bible found in Jamie’s lodgings
leads Vera and DS Aiden Healy (Kenny Doughty) to Jamie’s local church, where Vicar George
Haleford (Joe Dixon) and his wife confirm that Jamie stayed with them a year ago after they found
him sleeping rough. Vera wonders why Jamie was on the streets when his parents lived only a few
miles away in an apparently happy family unit. The investigation takes a surprising turn when new
forensic evidence implicates the vicar’s estranged son Brendan, who has a criminal past. As more
suspects enter the frame and conflicting alibis muddy the waters, Vera and her team must dig deep
to uncover the story behind the death of a young man who seemed to have no enemies.
Sugar Free Farm
Tuesday 9th February, 8pm
Six famous faces are put to the test in this
three-part series that aims to find out just how
addictive sugar can be and how bitter life can
be without it. Part dietary experiment, part reality
show, the series sees James “Arg” Argent of
TOWIE fame, Corrie’s own Tupele Dorgu,
glamour model and former Brookside star
Jennifer Ellison, the formidable Mark “The
Beast” Labbett of The Chase, presenter and
Loose Woman Jane McDonald and comedian
Rory McGrath give up the sweet stuff for an
entire fortnight. To avoid the sugar that is so
pervasive in our supermarkets, they must turn
their backs on the modern food industry and in
doing so live and work on a farm in return for
their share of healthy, wholesome food.
Breaking their addiction to sugar will push their
bodies to the limits. Without sugar, can life ever
be sweet again? The final episode finds the
celebrities in their second week of the
challenge. While the group discover how hard it
will be to stick to their sugar-free life style out in
the real world, Arg takes a break from farm life but will he be able to eschew sugar when he
joins his pals in Marbella? A month later, the
show catches up with the celebs to see if they
have managed to stick to their sugar-free diet
after leaving the farm.

Benidorm
Monday 8th February, 9pm
Series eight of the sitcom set in the all-inclusive
Solana resort on the Costa del Sol continues.
Tiger (Danny Walters) and Joey (Nathan Bryon)
attempt to climb a mountain on the outskirts of
Benidorm and soon have a run-in with another
hiker, Grenville Titcombe (Angus Deayton), who
takes exception to their loutish behaviour. The
situation just gets worse when the feckless pair
realise that they have forgotten to bring any water
with them. After Pauline’s (Selina Griffiths)
relapse, the Maltbys decide to cut their holiday
short and take her home on the evening flight. When Ionela (Milanka Brooks) bumps into Geoff
(Johnny Vegas) he hopes there might be one more passenger on the plane back to England.
Romance is in the air at the Solana with both Eddie (Bobby Knutt) and Rob (Josh Bolt) bagging
themselves dates, much to the amusement of the rest of the family. Eddie will be taking Jacqueline
(Janine Duvitski) out while Rob and Amber (Jessica Ellerby) are hitting it off, although Rob hopes
his little white lie about his age will not come back to bite him. Mateo (Jake Canuso) looks to be in
trouble when a stranger turns up at reception asking for him. After a day avoiding the man, it looks
as though Mateo’s time in Madrid may be catching up with him.
Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands
Sunday 7th February, 7pm
Beowulf is the oldest epic poem
in Old English, the language
spoken by the Anglo-Saxons
before the Norman Conquest.
Now it has been brought to the
small screen by James Dormer,
Tim Haines and Katie Newman.
This action-packed series is set
in the mythical Shieldlands, a
domain of drama and danger
populated by both humans and
fantastic creatures. The story,
essentially a western set in the
Dark Ages, unfolds on a huge
canvas, filmed in the stark and
breath-taking beauty of
Northumbria. The series began
as Beowulf (Kieran Bew), after
spending many
years wandering
as a mercenary
warrior, returned
to Herot to pay
his respects to
Hrothgar (William
Hurt), the
recently
deceased thane
who raised him.
When Herot was
attacked by the
ITV.com
terrifying monster Grendl,
however, Beowulf had no
choice but to hunt it down,
thereby winning favour with
Herot’s new lady thane and the
wider community. Thus began
a personal journey that sees
this powerful and charismatic
man slowly reconnect with the
notion of family and home. In
episode six, with his intended
bride now in Herot but his heart
elsewhere, the walls begin to
close in on Slean (Edward
Spleers). However, with his
uncle’s honeyed words in mind,
will Slean remain loyal to his
mother, despite the personal
sacrifice she commands, or will
his ambition for power prove a
temptation too strong to resist?
Jericho
Thursday 11th February, 9pm
The period drama set in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1870s
continues. The series tells the story of the shanty town of
Jericho, home to a community that is prepared to live,
thrive and die in the shadow of the viaduct that they have
been brought together to build. Jericho is a community of
pioneers, settlers and outcasts, people with secrets to
hide and those looking to start again. One of these
residents, Annie Quaintain (Jessica Raine), was evicted
from her home after her schoolmaster husband's death
left her widowed and penniless. Annie and her children,
Martha (Amy James-Kelly) and George (Sam Bottomley),
travelled to Culverdale Valley in the hope of building a new
life. In the sixth episode, panic sets in when Annie and Johnny (Hans Matheson) discover where the
quarry site will be. If Red’s body is discovered, everything they have fought for could be destroyed.
As Coates (Clarke Peters) and Johnny’s rivalry reaches fever pitch, and with George coming under
pressure, Annie must hold things together in the toughest of circumstances. When the people of
Jericho learn that there might be a murderer in their midst, shockwaves ripple through the town.
Coates has a suspect in his sights and looks unlikely to give up until he has him under lock and key.
Meanwhile, Charles (Daniel Rigby) unwittingly discovers a secret that will change things for ever.
Birds of a Feather
Thursday 11th February, 8.30pm
Series three of the revived hit
sitcom continues this week.
The original series was a longrunning success on BBC1 and
was successfully brought back
by ITV in 2014 following a 15year break. Series three again
features the original cast of
Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson
and Lesley Joseph as Sharon
Theodopolopodous, Tracey
Stubbs and Dorien Green
respectively. Charlie Quirke
returns as Tracey’s son Travis
Stubbs, with Samuel James
playing her other son Garth.
The series is once again
scripted by the original writers
Laurence Marks
and Maurice
Gran, with Gary
Lawson and
John Phelps. In
the series so
far Tracey’s exhusband Darryl
has sadly
passed away,
leaving her to
decide what
kind of send-off
ITV.com
to give him. The bad news
continued as Tracey returned
home to discover that she had
been burgled during the
funeral, leading to a hilarious
search for her possessions.
Having finally had enough of
Dorien and Sharon, Tracey
kicked them out, but the pair
joined forces to worm their way
back in. Dorien was soon
facing homelessness once
again when the sisters’ ailing
aunt Vera turned up on the
doorstep. This week, in
Abandoned Love, an attractive
surprise visitor named Emma
turns up at Tracey’s house.
Tracey is welcoming, Dorien is
shocked to the core and Travis
is over the moon. What is going
on in Chigwell?
Mr Selfridge
Friday 12th February, 9pm
The period drama starring Jeremy Piven as Harry
Selfridge, the charismatic American entrepreneur
who opened London’s first department store,
continues its fourth series, set nine years after
season three with Britain in the grip of the roaring
twenties and Harry enjoying himself. Determined
to quash any rumours of retirement, Harry
returned to work and made the acquaintance of
Jimmy Dillon, a mysterious entrepreneur. In
episode six, Harry is reeling in the aftermath of the
attack on the store, and his mood is worsened by
the amount of bad press that results. When
D’Ancona (Vincent Riotta) piles on more pressure,
Harry is finally forced to admit the true state of his
financial affairs. Mr Grove (Tom Goodman-Hill) and Miss Mardle (Amanda Abbington) are engaged
in planning their special forthcoming event, and Meryl (Lottie Tolhurst) enlists Tilly’s (Mimi Ndiweni)
help for a very important task. As Lady Mae (Katherine Kelly) and Victor (Trystan Gravelle) grow
closer, Jimmy becomes increasingly jealous.
The Martin Lewis Money Show
Friday 12th February, 8pm
Personal finance guru Martin
Lewis and former contestant on
The Apprentice Saira Khan
return for a fifth series to offer
more invaluable money-saving
advice. Martin has regularly
appeared on Daybreak and
This Morning, dispensing
practical tips for saving cash
and in September 2012 he sold
his MoneySavingExpert website
for £87m.
The series
continues to
school
viewers in the
art of the
bargain and
the way of the
savvy
consumer as
Martin and
Saira
dispense
more moneyITV.com
saving wisdom. This week, the
duo offer advice on how to fight
airlines for compensation over
delayed flights. When a plane
is grounded, it has a significant
effect on passengers who were
relying on a good service to get
them to their destination on
time. This can sometimes mean
serious disruption to plans or
even missing important events
altogether and compensation
can provide consolation to
many inconvenienced fliers.
The pair also investigate the
cheapest way to get an MOT
for your car and offer saving
tips for under 18s.
Griff’s Great Britain
Monday 8th February, 8pm
Comedian Griff Rhys Jones sets out to explore
some of Britain’s most beautiful landscapes in this
brand new series. In something of a spiritual
sequel to his last travelogue series, A Great
Welsh Adventure, Griff traverses eight very unique
yet quintessentially British terrains from the
highlands to the coasts and everything in
between, unearthing some fascinating and
peculiar facts along the way with the help of his
trademark curiosity. As he explores the huge
variety of landscapes Britain has to offer, he also
reveals the influence they have had on the
different ways we have developed of living, working and playing. Throughout his journey, he faces
demanding and often bizarre challenges which are hidden along his route.
In the sixth episode, Griff explores the dramatic and beautiful landscape of the Lake District. Along
the way he meets a man who holds an unusual world record - in 2012 Gary McClure made the
longest cumberland sausage in the world, over three metres in diameter and weighing at a
whopping 135kg. Later, Griff attempts to speed along the steepest road in Britain and crosses the
terrifying Infinity Bridge - but can he break the record for the slowest water-ski in history?
Ninja Warrior UK
Saturday 6th February, 7pm
A smash hit here in the UK and
in several countries around the
world, the toughest obstacle
course on television returned at
new year, hosted once again
by Ben Shephard, Rochelle
Humes and Chris Kamara. The
action-packed entertainment
series is the ultimate test of
strength, speed and courage.
Contestants from all walks of
life, ranging from have-a-go
heroes to self-professed
superhuman athletes, are
pushed to their
limits as they
take on the
challenges.
Viewers are
entertained by
both those who
can superbly
execute the
course and
those who
spectacularly
fail, crashing out
of the course and
ITV.com
into the water below. Each
segment is laden with jawdropping challenges, heartstopping excitement and
adrenaline-fuelled action as the
contestants attempt to
complete three punishing and
potentially hilarious stages.
Scores of ambitious
competitors took on the course
this series, but only a handful of
skilful players have managed to
successfully overcome the
toughest obstacle course ever
seen on British television. Who
will survive long enough to face
scaling the heights of the
insanely tough Mount
Midoriyama Tower and reach
this weekend’s second semifinal?
Ibiza Weekender
Sunday 7th February, 9pm
TV2 welcomes back some familiar faces
alongside plenty of new ones as cameras return
to the Mediterranean party island. The programme
hopes to find out what happens when young
British holidaymakers head out on their first
parent-free holiday by kitting out an entire hotel
resort with cameras, from the pool to reception
and the bar to the bedrooms. Reformed Welsh
ladies’ man Jordan returns as head rep, alongside
former leader Imogen, mini muscle man Deano,
and newbies David, Ellie and Amelia. Jordan, or
as he now puts it, ‘King,’ has enforced a strict regime, with regular uniform inspections and toilet
scrubbing duties handed out to all the staff. He also has a girlfriend, but can he juggle resort life
with a steady relationship? Deano has also returned, bronzed as ever but a little lighter in the
girlfriend department after a whirlwind romance with former boss Imogen. Ellie makes it clear she
has the hots for hunk Deano, but both Jordan’s ‘no falling in love’ rule and Imogen’s shadow loom
large. Arriving for their first taste of Ibiza magic in the opening episode are boys Adam, Kyle and
Cameron and girls Sophie, Jade and Taz, who are all geared up for a weekend of fun in the sun.
Will the reps ensure that they get one, or will their own personal dramas get in the way?
The Keith Lemon Sketch Show
Thursday 11th February, 10pm
ITV2’s favourite son returns
with a second series of the fastpaced sketch show which
affectionately spoofs the worlds
of TV, film and celebrity. Leedsborn comedian Leigh Francis
has now been lampooning
celebrity culture on British
television for over 15
years. The
character of Keith
Lemon has gone on
to be hugely popular
with ITV audiences,
pulling in millions of
viewers over
fourteen series of
the hilarious topical
panel show
Celebrity Juice and
reviving classic
game show Through
the Keyhole. Now,
Keith returns to the
genre which
ITV.com
launched his career as he once
again sends up a whole host of
famous faces, including
comedians Russell Brand and
Noel Fielding, beloved
presenting duo Ant and Dec, X
Factor presenter and pop star
Olly Murs, former TOWIE star
Mark Wright, antiques expert
David Dickinson, radio DJ Nick
Grimshaw, singer Mick
Hucknall and even kids’ TV
classic He-Man! The series
also sees the return of the
hilarious Urban Fox, a toughtalking suburbanite who is more
likely to get a clip around the
ear from his mum than ending
up engaging in street gang
warfare as he would have
people believe.
Sam Faiers - The Baby Diaries
Sunday 7th February, 8pm
ITVBe presents this one-off, access all areas documentary in which
former TOWIE star Sam Faiers welcomes cameras into her world
during the most special time of her life. The model and TV
personality welcomed her first child late last year with boyfriend
Paul Knightley, a property developer whom she began dating in
October 2014. Their young son, who was surely the best Christmas
present Sam could have asked for, has been named Paul after his
dad. This programme jumps back to last year as Sam and Paul
prepare for their lives to change for ever. The young couple are
understandably excited, but the prospect of bringing a new life into
the world is also a daunting one. With press speculation, negative
online comments and all of the usual struggles faced by young
mums around the world, there are potentially some tough times
ahead for Sam and Paul as they learn to adapt. Luckily for Sam,
she has the support and knowledge of older sister and fellow young
mum Billie to fall back on as she deals with everything that
pregnancy, labour and impending parenthood have to throw at her.
Barging Round Britain with John
Sergeant
Sunday 7th February, 8pm
John Sergeant sets off on a
rich and colourful voyage in this
eight-part series as he
undertakes eight of the most
beautiful canal journeys Britain
has to offer, exploring their
extraordinary stories as he
goes. Britain’s canals are a true
national treasure. Forged in the
fire of historic events, yet set
within gorgeous scenery, the
network is full of undiscovered
history and home to a vibrant
community rooted in a unique
way of life.
John’s travels take
him from one end
of Britain to the
other, from the
gentle downs of
Somerset in the
south, via the
breathtaking
countryside and
engineering of the
Welsh Llangollen
Canal to the
dramatic splendour
ITV.com
of the spectacular coast-tocoast Caledonian Canal in the
north of Scotland. Every step of
the way, John immerses
himself in living history, bringing
the past to life by rolling up his
sleeves, getting stuck in, and
experiencing canal practices
past and present. In the first
episode, John barges his way
across the Pennines as he
explores Britain’s longest canal.
Running for 127 miles, the
Leeds and Liverpool Canal was
built to give the textile industry
of Leeds a direct route to the
docks of Liverpool. John starts
his journey in the city of Leeds,
where recent years have seen
the waterfront radically
transformed.
Mrs Biggs
Sunday 7th February, 10pm
TV3 gives viewers another
chance to see Sheridan Smith
in the title role of Charmian
Biggs in this five-part drama
about the woman who married
Ronnie Biggs, who would later
become one of Britain’s most
wanted criminals. Danny Mays
takes on the role of her
infamous husband, while
Adrian Scarborough and
Caroline Goodall play
Charmian’s parents, Bernard
and Muriel. The series
chronicles Charmian’s life from
the fateful moment when, as a
teenager on a train, she first
meets and falls in love with the
flirtatious and worldly Ronnie
Biggs. Her father's disapproval
means that the couple have to
elope to the
Devon coast
with the money
Ron forces
Charmian to
steal from her
employers.
After being
discovered by
police following
a dramatic
chase, Ron is
imprisoned and Charmian
receives a suspended
sentence.
Charmian gives up her life for
Ron, and after his release
pleads with him to turn his back
on a life of crime. But money
worries force Ron to ask an old

Bruce Reynolds (Jay Simpson),
who is planning one of the most

history, the Great Train
Robbery of August 1963. When

For the first time ITV4 will be showing live coverage of this year’s three-day Coral Snooker ShootOut which starts on Friday February 12. First staged in 2011, this one-frame tournament is one of
the most thrilling events on the snooker calendar with matches lasting a maximum of just ten
minutes using a shot clock to add to the tension. The tournament takes place this year for the first
time at Reading’s Hexagon Theatre with 64 players battling to win the £32,000 top prize. Last year
Welshman Michael White lifted the trophy in Blackpool, beating China’s Xiao Guodong by potting
four balls in just 40 seconds to clinch the final.
This is high-octane snooker - if there is such a
thing -with the shot clock set at 15 seconds for
the first five minutes, dropping to ten seconds
for the final five. There is no chance for players
to plan their shots in advance - they have to rely
on their instincts, which provides a thrilling
spectacle and generates an electric
atmosphere. To add to the drama, the draw for
the matches is also random. Other previous
winners include Dominic Deale, Martin Gould,
Barry Hawkins (pictured) and Nigel Bond.
ITV.com
Unforgotten
Thursday 11th February, 9pm
ITV Encore presents another chance to see the crime
drama starring Nicola Walker as DCI Cassie Stuart
and Sanjeev Bhaskar as DS Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan. The
duo take on a cold murder case that has lain dormant
for 39 years when the bones of a young man are
found beneath the footings of a demolished house.
This shocking discovery sparks an investigation that
takes them across the country and promises to
unravel some deep-rooted secrets. In part two, with
the identity of the body in the cellar confirmed as one
Jimmy Sullivan, the search for his murderer begins.
DCI Stuart and the team work to identify the names
found in the victim’s diary, eventually narrowing their
investigation down to four potential suspects. Sir Phillip
Cross (Trevor Eve), the government's newly appointed entrepreneurial tsar, denies ever having met
Jimmy. Lizzie Wilton (Ruth Sheen), now living in Croydon, is a changed woman and a far cry from
her days as a member of the National Front. Father Robert Greaves (Bernard Hill) was working in
the local church at the time of Jimmy's death, while retired bookkeeper Eric Slater (Tom Courtenay)
is wheelchair-bound. As Cassie and Sunny hunt for the killer, revelations that see the light of day for
the first time in almost four decades will have severe repercussions for all involved.
