Broadchurch
Monday 4th March, 9pm
David Tennant and Olivia Colman star as
detectives in this eight-part crime thriller written
by Chris Chibnall and directed by James Strong.
On a morning in July, the Dorset town of
Broadchurch is bracing itself for the annual influx
of holidaymakers. But 11-year-old local boy
Danny Latimer has gone missing. As his mother
Beth (Jodie Whittaker) starts to search frantically
for him, local CID officer DS Ellie Miller (Colman)
returns to work after a family holiday. But she is
shocked to discover that the promotion she
thought was hers has gone to DI Alec Hardy
(Tennant), whom she has never met before, an
outsider to the town with a reputation for failure.
Then the call comes through – Danny’s body
has been found on the beach. Preliminary
findings suggest that Danny’s death is
suspicious, so Miller and Hardy must break the
terrible news to Beth, her husband Mark
(Andrew Buchan), and Danny’s sister Chloe
The Cube
Saturday 2nd March, 8.15pm
(Charlotte Beaumont). Hardy believes that
Danny must have been abducted and swears to
the family he will find whoever is responsible for
Danny’s death. As the investigation gets under
way, can the friendly and engaging Miller and
the rude and abrupt Hardy put aside their
differences to work as a team to find out the
truth about Danny’s fate?
Phillip Schofield presents a brand new series of the tense game show in which contestants battle it
out for a big cash prize by taking on a series of tests inside a large Perspex cube. The hopefuls find
their skill, nerve and determination tried to the limit as they fight
for the top prize of £250,000. Every hopeful challenger must
complete apparently simple tasks while under the spotlight in
the Cube. Each game is worth a cash prize, and the
contestants have to work hard to keep their cool and stay in the
running. They must win seven games to take the jackpot, and
they have nine lives with which to compete. If they lose all their
lives, they leave with nothing. The Cube features tasks which
test the contenders' agility, reflexes, speed and skill, and it is
filmed using amazing state-of-the-art techniques which allow
viewers to really feel the intense pressure that the contestants
are under. In previous series, many people have taken on the
Cube, and celebrities including Kelly Osbourne, Joe Swash,
Jenni Falconer, Kelly Holmes and members of McFly have also
stepped up. In the first show of this series, firefighter Jason
struggles to keep his cool as things hot up inside the Cube,
while competitive swimmer Michelle dives straight into
proceedings – but will she find herself out of her depth?

March 2013
Lightfields
Wednesday 6th March, 9pm
Following on from the hugely successful
Marchlands, this brand new five-part supernatural
drama series spans three time periods at a remote
farm on the Suffolk coast. The story follows three
families who live at Lightfields farmhouse at
different times – 1944, 1975 and 2012 – and who
are linked by the ghost of a teenage girl who died
in mysterious and tragic circumstances.
In 1944, a fire in the hay barn rages out of control,
killing Lucy and leaving the local community
stricken with grief. Eve (Dakota Blue Richards)
refuses to believe that Lucy’s death was an
accident and finds evidence to support her theory.
In 1975, Vivien (Lucy Cohu, pictured right) is troubled by the fact that she has no memory of the
place, even though she was evacuated to the area during the war. But supernatural events trigger
something else… something has woken in the house. Lucy and her daughter Clare (Karla Crome,
pictured left) are not alone. In 2012, it is the first time Pip has returned to Lightfields since he lived
there as a boy. He is disturbed to be back after all these years and refuses to talk about his
childhood on the farm, struggling to keep up the pretence that his sister Lucy never existed.
Mr Selfridge
Sunday 3rd March, 9pm
The drama series portraying the life of the
visionary American retailing entrepreneur, Harry
Gordon Selfridge, continues. Jeremy Piven plays
the title role, with Katherine Kelly as feisty and
alluring socialite Lady Mae, Frances O’Connor
as Harry’s wife Rose, Gregory Fitoussi as
flamboyant creative director Henri Leclair, Zoe
Tapper as “the face of Selfridges” Ellen Love,
and Aisling Loftus as shop assistant Agnes. Set
in London in 1909, the show explores not only
the rise of the flamboyant tycoon but also a time
when women were enjoying a new sense of
freedom, campaigning for the vote and
kicking over the traces of Victorian morality
and conformity. Harry has invited the heroic
polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton (Mark
Dexter) to give a lecture in the store. But
Harry’s mind is elsewhere, disturbed by
news of the death of someone closer to
home. Rose complains to Harry about
Roddy (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), but when
Harry runs into him, he’s shocked by what
Roddy has to say. Grove (Tom GoodmanHill) and Doris (Lauren Crace) find
consolation in each other. Victor (Trystan
Gravelle) finally steels himself to tell Lady
Mae what he really thinks of her.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway
Saturday 2nd March, 7pm
Award-winning presenters Ant and Dec continue
the brand new series of their fun-packed live
family entertainment show. Originally running from
2002 to 2009, Saturday Night Takeaway was
voted ITV’s second most popular programme ever
as part of the channel’s 50th birthday celebrations
back in 2005, beaten only by Coronation Street.
The show has been off our screens for four years
while the lads pursued other projects, and its
return might be considered long overdue.
Unsuspecting viewers and audience members will
be invited to take part in crazy challenges, win
fantastic prizes and occasionally meet some very famous faces. In the main game before the end of
the show, one lucky person from the studio audience is randomly selected for a chance to ‘win the
ads’, in which prizes are selected from one of ITV’s commercial breaks and can range in value from
toilet rolls and boxes of cereal to brand new cars and luxury holidays. The fun will conclude each
week with the exciting brand new feature The End of The Show Show, where some of the world’s
biggest and best performers will grace the Takeaway stage for a one-off performance that will come
with its own unique surprise.
Piers Morgan’s Life Stories
Friday 8th March, 9pm
Piers Morgan’s Life Stories continues its ninth
series with more fascinating guests with stories
to tell. The series has established itself as one of
TV’s most revealing talk shows, with the format
of one interview per programme offering viewers
a chance to find out what makes those famous
people tick.
This episode features ice dancing stars Jayne
Torvill and Christopher Dean, who admit for the
first time that at one point their relationship was
more than professional. The pair won a
succession of British, European and World
Championships, but their crowning glory is
generally acknowledged to be their stunning
interpretation of Ravel’s Bolero at the Winter
Olympics at Sarajevo in 1984, where they not
only won gold but also achieved the highest
scores of all time for a single performance.
These days the ice dancing duo are best
known for their work as mentors and trainers
on Dancing on Ice, but during their intimate
chat they reveal more than their professional
evolution, opening up to Piers about the
challenges they have faced in their personal
lives, including how Chris had to deal with
being separated from his mother at a young
age and Jayne’s decision to adopt two
children.

March 2013
Dancing on Ice
Sunday 3rd March, 6.15pm and 8.30pm
Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley present
the celebrity ice dancing competition’s semi-final.
1984 Winter Olympics heroes Jayne Torvill and
Christopher Dean and their coaching team have
worked the stars hard to reach this point. The
remaining celebrity skaters’ unquestionable
dedication and determination has paid off as they
reach semi-professional levels of skill and poise in
their bids to become Dancing on Ice Champion
2013. This year’s competition started out badly for
the female contenders, as Pamela Anderson, Lauren Goodger, Oona King and Anthea Turner
crashed out of the show in the first four weeks. In week five, Shayne Ward finally became the first
male to exit this year’s show in an emotional and unexpected skate-off with former EastEnders star
Matt Lapinskas, followed by funnyman Joe Pasquale and presenter Keith Chegwin in weeks six and
seven. At the time of going to press Matt remains in the competition, along with Olympians Beth
Tweddle and Luke Campbell, actress Samia Ghadie and rugby legend Gareth Thomas. Only four of
these hopefuls will have survived props week to make this semi-final stage. Despite a record bet of
£5,000 having been placed on Matt to win, Beth remains the current bookies’ favourite, but
ultimately it is the public and the judges on the Ice Panel who decide who goes through to next
week’s grand finale.
All Star Family Fortunes
Sunday 3rd March, 7.45pm
Vernon Kay presents the final episode in the
current series of the popular game show. It’s
football versus fashion this week as Premier
League and former England player Michael
Owen fronts his family team in a head-to-head
contest with model and photographer Penny
Lancaster and her clan. Both families will be
vying to win up to £30,000 for their chosen
charity by answering a series of seemingly easy
questions, based on a survey of 100 members of
the British public. Anyone familiar with the format
knows that the game is not always easy – it is
unusual for one team to come up with a full list
of correct answers – which means the opposing
team will be ready to pounce with an answer of
their own, hoping for a chance to steal the cash
prize for that round. Vernon is never shy in
responding to bizarre, ridiculous or hilarious
answers, and will be sure to dig out some
embarrassing photographs, footage or
information on at least one of the contestants
before the show is over. The winning team has
the opportunity to play for £10,000, but the big
challenge is identifying all five top answers to
bag the full £30,000 in the final Big Money
round. With limited time, lots of pressure and
some tricky questions, will the two players
selected from the winning team be able to
second-guess the British public and secure the
full amount?

Food Glorious Food
Wednesday 6th March, 8pm
Presented by Carol Vorderman, the series that
seeks out the finest of British home cooking
visits Devon, with the team of culinary experts
looking for the best that the south west of
England has to offer. Hundreds of cooks put
their treasured family recipes to the test, as they
pull out all the stops to impress the panel –
globe-trotting gastronome Loyd Grossman, food
writer and royal stepson Tom Parker-Bowles,
Anne Harrison of the Women’s Institute, and
Beehive Bakery’s Stacie Stewart. Among the
contestants are one of the oldest pasty crimpers in the area, and a father-and-son team of crab
fishermen who are out to impress Anne. Some of the panel are not so easily swayed, as becomes
apparent when Loyd Grossman delivers his verdict on a pub landlord’s stir-fry. Each of the four
judges is allowed to nominate just one dish, with one of these chosen as the regional favourite. The
overall winner will receive a prize of £20,000 and will receive the ultimate accolade when they see
their very own dish on the shelves of Marks & Spencer.

The Big Reunion

March 2013
Thursday 7th March, 9pm
This exciting series continues
as ITV2 brings back six pop
acts from the 90s and 00s. The
groups – Atomic Kitten
(Natasha Hamilton, Liz
McClarnon, Kerry Katona), 5ive
(Ritchie Neville, Scott
Robinson, Abz Love, Sean
Conlon), B*Witched (Edele
Lynch, Keavy Lynch, Sinead
O’Carroll, Lindsay Armaou),

(Lee Brennan, Simon ‘Spike’
Dawbarn, Jimmy Constable)
and Honeyz (Celena Cherry,
Mariama Goodman, Heavenli

for another chance to shine on
stage for an audience of
thousands at London’s
Hammersmith Apollo. In this
week’s episode, it’s
time for boy band 911
and girl group
B*Witched to regroup
for the first time in
over a decade. There
are some harrowing
moments for both acts
as they face their
former colleagues and
attempt to deal with
deep-seated resentment and
unresolved disputes from their
younger days. Will the groups
manage to overcome nerves,
injury and bad blood before
they step back out onto the
stage? Meanwhile, 5ive are still
struggling to decide on a
course of action regarding their
missing member, Jason ‘J’

following major surgery, but is
she ready to perform? With
only two weeks of intense
rehearsals before their big
comeback, it is likely to be a
rewarding yet challenging
experience for the former stars,
so expect tears of both joy and
sadness as they work their way
towards the big night.
Another chance to see an instalment of Lynda LaPlante’s gripping crime series. When well-known
paediatric surgeon Jonathan Carlisle is found dead, DCI Roisin Connor (Victoria Smurfit) uncovers
conflicts stirred by a recent operation that resulted in the death of a young girl. The team learn that
the girl’s father, Gary Webster (John Lynch), was the subject of a restraining order issued by
Carlisle, and had been stalking him for months. Before he can be questioned, Webster goes on the
run. After a tense and emotional game of cat-and-mouse, the police corner Webster at the zoo.
Faced with no way out, and tormented by the memory of his dead daughter, Webster jumps to his
death. Following the death of their prime suspect, Connor instructs her deflated team to keep on top
of the investigation. Details of Carlisle’s private life
start to emerge, contradicting his public image of a
brilliant and benevolent character. Addicted to
painkillers, Carlisle was sleeping his way round the
female staff. Among suspicions of a negligence
cover-up, DCS Walker (David Hayman) and Connor
return to the hospital to question Carlisle’s
colleagues, including Adrian Lawson (Ben Miles), his
junior surgeon. Could young Amber Webster’s tragic
death be the key to unlocking this complex and brutal
murder? Or does the answer lie in a more familiar
motive – adultery and the desire for revenge?

UEFA Europa League Live *
Thursday 7th March, 5.30pm
ITV4’s coverage of this season’s Europa League
competition continues this week as the
tournament reaches the round of 16 first leg
matches. At the time of going to press there is still
plenty of interest for English fans, with Liverpool,
Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle
United all still in the running. In the round of 32
first leg games, Chelsea set themselves up nicely
for their return to Stamford Bridge beating Sparta
1-0 in Prague following an inspired substitution by
manager Rafael Benitez. He brought on the
Brazilian Oscar, who scored almost immediately
after coming on. Newcastle travel to the Ukraine with nothing in the bank following their 0-0 draw
with Metalist Kharkiv. Manager Alan Pardew was critical of the officials after a game in which his
side had two goals disallowed. Tottenham beat Lyon 2-1 at White Heart Lane with two goals from
Gareth Bale, but the French side’s away goal means that Andre Villas-Boas’s side still have much
work to do. Liverpool have the biggest mountain to climb, having lost 2-0 to Zenit St Petersburg in a
first leg in which several missed chances may cost them dearly.

SOAP ROUND-UP
Emmerdale
Gennie’s concerns over Brenda’s health grow as she refuses to go through with a biopsy and her
behaviour becomes more and more erratic. Brenda hides the truth about her condition and pushes
Bob away, telling him she doesn’t want to see him any more. A neurosurgeon advises surgery but
Gennie is shocked to learn that her mum is researching alternative
therapies. Tensions between Cameron and Thomas continue, but
by the end of the week it seems that a truce could be on the cards.
Paddy is coerced into helping Rhona organise a surprise party for
Vanessa’s birthday, but ends up enlisting Marlon’s help for most of
the work involved. Rhona ends up injuring her back when fooling
around at the party, and Paddy feels even more sidelined by
Rhona and Vanessa’s friendship. Sandy worries Laurel and Ashley
with his repeated disappearances and strange behaviour. An
accidental fire destroys the hide where Sandy has been secretly spending time with Sean. A
dejected Sandy feels his future in the village is bleak and decides that he wants to leave Marlon’s
place for a retirement home. Promising to help, Ashley ends up lying to social services to try to
ensure Sandy a place in sheltered accommodation. Andy and Debbie clash when she realises that
he has left Kerry in charge of the children.
Coronation Street
Karl’s obsession with Stella spirals out of control when he kidnaps her in his cab and begs her to
take him back. When Steve finds out, he fires Karl from Streetcars once again. With his life in ruins,
Karl blames Sunita and Jason, vowing to get revenge on them both. Tina and Fiz realise that
Kirsty’s mum Alison could be the key to freeing Tyrone if they can
persuade her to coax the truth from her daughter. The plan hits a
snag, however, when Kirsty sees the three women talking, and
Tyrone’s solicitor warns that they could be in trouble for intimidating
a witness. Eileen is upset to learn that Toni, who is organising
Paul’s charity strip show, is actually female. Suspicion gets the
better of her and she goes snooping around Paul’s workplace.
Later, Eileen angrily confronts Paul about the time he is spending
with Toni, only to discover that he was planning to propose and
was enlisting Toni’s help in choosing an engagement ring. Katy struggles to contain her jealousy as
her friend Steph shows an interest in Ryan. Dev and Sunita appear to be growing closer again as
they spend time with the twins. A misguided Faye tries to engineer a relationship between Tim and
Anna by excluding Owen from her school play.
