Martin Clunes: Heavy Horsepower
Thursday 7th February, 9pm
Martin Clunes looks at the important role of the world’s
working horses in this one-off documentary, as he begins
training his own adored Clydesdales to work on his farm.
Martin added Clydesdales Ronnie and Bruce to his Dorset
menagerie two years ago, but they still have much to learn.
They are sent away to be taught commands and how to pull a
cart under the expert eye of trainer Robert Sampson. Martin
also investigates the traditional uses of the working horse,
and how people are finding new ways to keep horses working
in the modern world. He travels to a beautiful Italian vineyard
to meet a man who believes that horses are better for soil
than tractors, and he joins a Canadian farmer for a 20-horse
hitch. In Belgium, Martin looks at the traditional use of horses
in shrimp fishing. Back in England, he meets the Household
Cavalry. Martin’s journey also takes him to the channel port of
Boulogne, where he takes part in the route du poisson, a traditional competition with teams of
draught horses. In the United States, Martin discovers that working horses are booming as he
travels to New Orleans to see the Budweiser Clydesdales delivering beer. He realises that to
persuade Ronnie and Bruce to graft for their supper will be no easy task.
Mr Selfridge
Sunday 3rd February, 9pm
The drama series portraying
the life of the visionary
American retailing
entrepreneur, Harry Gordon
Selfridge, continues. Jeremy
Piven plays the title role, with
Katherine Kelly as feisty and
alluring socialite Lady Mae,
Frances O’Connor as Harry’s
wife Rose, Gregory Fitoussi as
flamboyant creative director
Henri Leclair, Zoe Tapper as
“the face of Selfridges” Ellen
Love, and Aisling Loftus as
shop assistant Agnes. Set in
London in 1909, the show
explores not only the rise of
the flamboyant tycoon but also
a time when women were
enjoying a new sense of
freedom, campaigning for the
vote and kicking over the
traces of Victorian morality and
ITV.com
conformity.
In this episode, Harry delights
in the motor car brought in for
an exciting new window
display. Roddy surprises Rose
at home and young Beatrice
sees him. Harry persuades
Agnes to return to the store,
which causes Victor and Agnes
to fall out, though Henri is
particularly pleased to see her
again. As a result of the
quarrel, Victor is open when
Lady Mae makes a play for
him. Rose confronts Harry after
she receives a visit from his
mistress, Ellen Love, at which
point Harry hits rock bottom,
drinking and reliving a traumatic
childhood memory as he drives
the new car into the night…

Dancing on Ice
Sunday 3rd February, 6.15pm and 8.30pm
Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley present the fifth round
of live shows in the eighth series of the celebrity ice dancing
competition. This year’s competitors are actress Pamela
Anderson, singer Shayne Ward, presenters Anthea Turner
and Keith Chegwin, Olympians Beth Tweddle and Luke
Campbell, former EastEnder Matt Lapinskas, Corrie actor
Samia Ghadie, former TOWIE star Lauren Goodger, politician
Oona King, comedian Joe Pasquale, and former rugby player
Gareth Thomas. Working under the watchful eyes of figure
skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, the more
talented contestants will be hoping to wow audiences with an awe-inspiring advancement from
novice to semi-professional level, demonstrating their progress week after week with dazzling
displays of new-found skating prowess. There will be disappointment for some, as Pamela, Lauren
and Oona have already discovered, having crashed out of the competition in the first three shows.
The recent ‘duel’ episode pushed the skaters to the limit and led to a dramatic skate-off in which
Oona’s partner, professional skater Mark Hanretty, took a nasty tumble, momentarily throwing the
competition into doubt. Whatever the skill of the skaters, many viewers will be cheering the return of
the UK's meanest talent show judge. Jason Gardiner has rejoined the panel and has already proved
to be bolder, blunter and ruder than ever before. Joining him are returning judges Robin Cousins
and Karen Barber, together with a new addition to the panel, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.
Wild Britain with Ray Mears
Friday 8th February, 8pm
In the third series of Wild Britain With Ray
Mears, Ray continues his celebration of the
British landscape and its wildlife. He travels the
length and breadth of Britain during spring and
summer to explore forests, rivers, islands and
coasts, revealing the wildlife secrets of each
habitat. At each location Ray meets local
conservationists and amateur enthusiasts with a
passion for the wildlife on their doorstep. He
shares his knowledge of field crafts and
examines the underlying geology that gives the
landscape its character.
In this episode, Ray takes a trip down the River
Wye in Wales. He starts his journey in the
Cambrian Mountains before meeting Dr John
Taylor, an Environment Agency scientist
trying to save a critically endangered mollusc
that acts as an indicator species for the water
quality in Britain’s fifth longest river. He
observes the mating behaviour of the weird
looking sea lamprey, who have travelled up
the river to spawn at the end of their lives,
and watches a colony of sand martins as they
tend to their young. Water vole numbers have
been decimated by mink across the UK, but
in Wales they are making an extraordinary
comeback. Ray meets Richard Davies, who
is responsible for the release of 1,500 voles
back into the Welsh waterways.

Lewis
Monday 4th February, 9pm
After seven years of ducking the question, Lewis and
Hobson are embarking on a relationship, but the
Oxford detective has a new mystery to solve. In the
first part of this episode, Intelligent Design, an elderly
don is murdered on the night of his release from
prison, having served a sentence for causing death by
dangerous driving. Richard Seager (Stephen
Churchett) has been crushed to death by a Jaguar
Mark 2, his body having been found by his wife
Martha (Alison Steadman). Mysteriously, Seager had
scratched the number ‘500’ into the car’s paintwork.
Martha insists that Rachael Cliff (Crystal Leaity), the sister of Seager’s victim, is the killer. Lewis
(Kevin Whately) and Hathaway (Laurence Fox) visit Rachel, who claims that she spent the night at
Benison College with Adam Tibbit (Josh Bolt). Investigations at the college reveal that Seager not
only had major disagreements with the provost but also was preparing to divorce Martha. The plot
thickens when forensics show that a piece of hair recovered from the interior of the Jaguar belongs
to Rachel Cliff. As Lewis and Hathaway interview Rachel they are interrupted by the discovery of a
skeletal body and a suitcase in the college chapel’s attic. The luggage label reads ‘Soo-Min Chong’.
Seager wasn’t scratching the number ‘500’ after all...

Vernon Kay and Gabby Logan
present the final of the
competition in which Olympic
bronze medallist Tom Daley
mentors a group of celebrities
in mastering the art of diving.
Currently one of the most
popular names in British sport,
Tom was one of the youngest
members of Team GB at the
2012 London Olympics.
Already accomplished at the
grand old age of 18, he has
decided to pass on some of his
knowledge to a group of
celebrities, including comics
Helen Lederer, Dom Joly and
Omid Djalili, Sugababe Jade
Ewen, TV presenters Jenni
Falconer, Donna Air, Charlotte
Jackson and Linda Barker,
model Caprice, Olympic boxer
Anthony Ogogo, Olympic
ski jumper Eddie ‘The
Eagle’ Edwards, reality
star Joey Essex, TV
gardener Diarmuid Gavin,
and actors Jake Canuso
and Tina Malone.
With Team GB’s diving
coach Andy Banks,
comedian Jo Brand and
former Olympic diving
medallist Leon Taylor on

hand to score the divers, the
voting public have decided the
top three places each week,
with one clear winner
automatically going through to
the semi-final. The remaining
two top-placed celebs in each
heat have then faced one last
attempt to impress the judges
in the splash-off for the other
semi-final place. Nine
contestants have already been
handed their towels, leaving
Omid, Jake, Charlotte, Eddie,
Linda and Anthony to face each
other in the penultimate round.
At the time of going to press,
the final line-up is yet to be
confirmed from the group of six
semi-finalists, but there are
doubtless many more twists
and turns to come before the
winner emerges from the pool.

Take Me Out
Saturday 2nd February, 8.30pm
Paddy McGuinness pulls out all the stops to wow the
ladies in the latest instalment of the dating show's fifth
series, but will he be able to land them their dream
fella from among a quartet of eligible bachelors? A
group of 30 single and sassy ladies are waiting
patiently, hoping to be impressed by whoever
descends in the famous love lift. The gents each offer
the girls an insight into their lives, quirks, passions
and skills, all in the hope of winning a dream date on
the sun-soaked Isle of Fernandos. Will this bunch of
potential suitors be as picky as some of those in
previous series?
Each of Paddy’s girls controls a light, which they can
switch off if they don’t like what they see. None of the
boys want to join the blackout club – the name given
to the unfortunate group of chaps who have failed to keep at least one woman interested until the
end of their pitch – so they will be doing their utmost to put on a good show. Tonight’s brave
bachelors include Gavin, a guitar teacher from Huddersfield; Stuart, a 999 call operative from
Bristol; Sen, a choir leader from London; and Russell, a butcher from Belfast. The show also
features all the latest dating news from the Isle of Fernandos.
The Jonathan Ross Show
Saturday 2nd February, 9.45pm
Jonathan Ross unleashes his infectious wit,
sense of fun and interview skills on more
celebrity guests this week as the new series of
his popular talk show continues. He will also
introduce some incredible live music from some
of the biggest acts on the planet. Ross's guests
have been a fascinating and diverse bunch of A-
listers, and this week’s guests include stars from
the worlds of comedy and cinema well as one of
television’s all-time greats.
Eddie Izzard has not only been delighting
audiences for over 20 years with his
idiosyncratic brand of stand-up comedy but also
raised a great deal of cash for Sport Relief by
running a remarkable 43 marathons in 51 days.
Swedish action hero Dolph Lundgren’s many
screen credits include Universal Soldier, The
Expendables and Missionary Man, which he
also directed. ‘National treasure’ is an over-used
term nowadays, but one man who undoubtedly
qualifies for such a description is Sir David
Attenborough, who has been presenting wildlife
and natural history programmes for over half a
century. Russell Brand continues to endear
himself to the public with his apparent
eccentricity and outrageous sense of humour.
Music comes from Pulp, the former Britpop stars
who have recently made a successful return to
the concert platform.

Great Night Out
Friday 8th February, 9pm
The comedy drama series continues to chronicle
the lives of four thirty-something men who bicker
and bond their way through a weekly night on the
tiles in Stockport. Filmed on location in London
and Stockport, the series was created by The
Worst Week of My Life writers Mark Bussell and
Justin Sbresni, and stars Will Ash, Stephen
Walters, Craig Parkinson and Lee Boardman as
the trouble-prone quartet, along with Ricky
Tomlinson, Rebekah Staton, Naomi Bentley,
Susie Blake and Christine Bottomley. The series
charts the lads’ attempts to right their worldly
wrongs – so long as they don’t have to move too far from their local, the football or the greasy
spoon to do so. In this week's episode, the ways of women continue to confuse and confound the
lads. Conflict looms for Hodge (Boardman) and Kath (Staton) when their romantic weekend away is
blown off course by the appearance of some unexpected visitors. Beggsy (Ash) is faring better
when it comes to love as he finds himself finally enjoying various pleasures that he has been
missing. Meanwhile, the frisky new ways of Colleen (Bentley) cause Daz (Walters) to ask himself
some difficult questions.
All Star Family Fortunes
Sunday 3rd February, 7.45pm
Vernon Kay presents the fifth
episode in a brand new series
of the popular game show in
which two celebrity-led teams
battle it out to win up to
£30,000 for their chosen
charity. This week actress
Samantha Womack and
McFly’s Tom Fletcher compete,
aided by their relatives. The
two famous faces and their
families hope to win big money
for their favourite good causes
by answering a series of
seemingly easy questions,
based on a survey of 100
members of the
British public.
Anyone familiar
with the format will
understand that this
is not as easy as it
sounds, and know
how rare it is for
one team to come
up with a full list of
answers. The
opposing team will
be ready to pounce
ITV.com
with a make-or-break answer of
their own, hoping to steal the
cash prize for that round.
Vernon is never shy in his
responses when contestants
suggest bizarre, ridiculous or
hilarious answers, and will be
sure to dig out some
embarrassing photographs,
footage or information on at
least one of the contestants
before the show is over. The
winning team has the
opportunity to play for £10,000,
but the big challenge is trying to
bag the full £30,000 in the final
Big Money round. With limited
time and some tricky questions,
will they be able to secondguess the British public and
secure the full amount?

Love in the Wild
Tuesday 5th February, 8pm
ITV2 presents the second series of the
reality adventure show, this time hosted by
model, actress and presenter Jenny
McCarthy. Fourteen single guys and girls
have signed up to navigate the wilds of the
Dominican Republic, competing in
challenges which test their abilities and
compatibility as a team, and ultimately
aiming to achieve their main goal of finding
true romance. The seven ladies get to
choose their seven male companions, and,
in a surprise twist for the series opener,
seven additional guys are brought in, meaning the contenders will kick off their jungle adventure as
a group of trios. The adventurers are immediately thrown into a challenge that forces them to find
their way through rough waters and crawl through a snake-infested well. The 21 contestants must
then deal with a tense and emotional elimination ceremony which breaks up some teams and
strengthens others. At the end of the episode, seven of the single guys will be sent home for good,
making way for the remaining seven couples to properly begin their dating journey. Those who do
best in each challenge will be rewarded with luxury accommodation, while those who fail to work
well as a team will be faced with a night under the stars.
The Big Reunion
Thursday 7th February, 9pm
This exciting new series brings
back six acts from one of the
golden ages of British and Irish
pop music. These turn-of-themillennium, all-singing, alldancing groups sold millions of
records, played to packed-out
arenas, and scored massive
chart hits across the globe over
a ten year period between 1995
and 2005. The groups – Atomic
Kitten (Natasha Hamilton, Liz
McClarnon, Kerry Katona), 5ive
(Ritchie Neville, Scott
Robinson, Richard ‘Abz’ Breen,
Sean Conlon), B*Witched
(Edele Lynch, Keavy Lynch,
Sinead O’Carroll, Lindsay
Armaou), Liberty X (Jessica
Taylor, Michelle Heaton, Kevin
Simm, Kelli Young, Tony
Lundon), 911 (Lee Brennan,
Simon ‘Spike’ Dawbarn, Jimmy
Constable) and Honeyz
(Celena Cherry,
Mariama Goodman,
Heavenli Roberts) –
will all be reunited
for another chance
to shine on stage in
front of thousands
of fans. With only
two weeks of
ITV.com
intense rehearsals before their
big comeback, it is likely to be
a rewarding yet challenging
experience for many of the
former stars, so expect tears of
both joy and sadness as they
work their way towards the big
night. The show will also take a
look at what happened when
the groups disbanded, and how
some members remained in the
celebrity spotlight while others
pursued a diverse range of
careers including circus
performing, nursing, teaching,
farming and wedding
photography. As the singers
are catapulted back into the
limelight, will old rivalries, love
interests and disagreements
resurface?

A Mother’s Son
Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th February,
10pm
ITV3 presents another chance
to see this thrilling two-part
drama starring Hermione
Norris, Martin Clunes, Paul
McGann and Alexander Arnold.
When a teenage schoolgirl is
found murdered in woods near
a town in Suffolk, mother of two
Rosie Haleton (Norris)
discovers damning evidence
that could be connected to the
crime. Recently remarried,
Rosie lives with her two
children Jamie (Arnold) and
Olivia, husband Ben Harley
(Clunes) and his children from
a previous marriage, Jessica
and Rob. As they settle into
daily life together, Rosie begins
to suspect that she may be
sharing her home with a killer
when she finds a pair of blood-
GT Academy
splattered trainers
hidden under
Jamie’s bed.
At first Rosie tries
to dismiss her
suspicions,
believing them too
ridiculous to be
true. Could her son
be involved in
murder? Rosie
finds solace in an
unlikely place, confiding in her
ex-husband, David (McGann),
who also totally dismisses the
idea that Jamie could be
responsible. He reluctantly
agrees to follow his son in the
hope of clearing his name and
discovers Jamie has been
spending time with a school
dropout who was previously
Monday 4th February, 8pm
arrested for sexual assault
against a minor. At home,
Ben’s son Rob has been acting
strangely since learning of the
murder and will not explain
why. It is clear that he has
something to hide – could he
have been a witness to the
crime or even be involved
somehow?
Craig Doyle is joined by former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert for a new series which goes in
search of the next big motor racing star. Their route does not pass through the conventional
channels. Six British gamers, all masters of the computer game Gran Turismo, are put through a
series of gruelling physical, mental and driving challenges at the Silverstone boot camp. The best of
the six will then compete with similar victors across Europe, the ultimate prize being a chance to
race a full-spec Nissan 370Z GT4 at the prestigious Dubai International 24 Hour extravaganza. The
entrants have been whittled down from a
staggering 830,000 gamers from across
Europe. With the event now in its fifth year, the
process is deadly serious and not just a
publicity stunt. Jann Mardenborough, the winner
in 2011, went on to win a race in the British GT
series last year. In the first episode, we meet
our six British hopefuls as they arrive at
Silverstone, the home of British motor racing, to
be put through their driving paces. Eliminations
will follow over the next few weeks as the
competition progresses.

TT Legends
Monday 4th February, 8.30pm
This new eight-part documentary series follows
the TT Legends team as they take part in some of
the world’s toughest motorcycle races from Japan
to the Isle of Man. The series has exclusive
access to the team, which consists of the ninetimes winner of the Isle of Man TT John
McGuinness, two-times winner Cameron Donald,
and the new kid on the block Simon Andrews, one
of the fastest newcomers in TT. The series follows
the team as they take part in the World
Endurance Championship in France, Germany
and Japan, as well as some of the famous road
races in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. The
series reveals the contrast between the three riders as they try to push each other to the limit and
beyond. We also get a chance to see them away from the track as they try to relax and escape from
the pressures of racing, and meet their families and friends who have to cope with the stress of
watching their loved ones compete. This fascinating insight into the world of TT motorcycle racing
begins as the team prepare for the Bol d’Or 24-hour race in France.
The Looney Tunes Show
Monday 4th – Friday 8th February, 3.10pm
This new animated series
features the activities and
blunders of roommates Bugs
Bunny and Daffy Duck, who
live in a suburb of LA with
colourful neighbours such as
Lola Bunny, Tina Russo, Porky
Pig, and Foghorn Leghorn,
alongside other classic Looney
Tunes characters.
Monday’s episode is The DMV.
After going through a stop sign
while taking Bugs to the
movies, Daffy has to take a
driving test and his parade float
car is impounded. The same
thing happens to Lola and
Porky, but even if they pass the
written test, they all have to
face driving instructor Yosemite
Sam! In Off Duty Cop, showing
on Tuesday, Daffy takes on the
persona of his hero, Steve St
James, and starts arresting
blameless
individuals for
crimes they
have not
committed.
Wednesday’s
episode,
Working Duck,
sees Daffy
lose his job as
ITV.com
a security guard when he is
caught napping at his post.
Matters go from bad to worse
when Bugs kicks him out of the
house, but things start to look
up when Foghorn Leghorn
appoints him as his right-hand
man. Whether Daffy is up to the
job, however, remains to be
seen. In French Fries on
Thursday, Porky and Daffy
have a major falling-out over a
portion of chips. Bugs tries to
keep the peace but to no avail.
Finally in Friday’s episode,
Beauty School, Daffy learns to
cut hair and starts to believe
that he has found his true
vocation as a beautician.
Meanwhile Bugs has upset Lola
by agreeing to dance lessons
with Porky.
