A message from the Principal
Dear Friends and Supporters of Saints Peter and Paul School,
As I reflect over the 2014-2015 school year, I am impressed at the level of
support and dedication provided by parents, teachers, staff, parishioners,
alumni, and friends of Saints Peter and Paul. Your passion and commitment
to providing a quality Catholic education for our students allow us to
continue to exceed our school’s mission of “…preparing our students to
think critically, become confident, sensitive Catholic leaders modeled in the
image of Jesus Christ, prepared to succeed in future academic endeavors and
contribute to the community.”
Pope Francis said, “Our generation will show that it can rise to the promise
found in each young person when we know how to give them space. This
means that we have to create the material and spiritual conditions for their
full development; to give them a solid basis on which to build their lives; to
guarantee their safety and their education to be everything they can be…”
Your generous donations allow Saints Peter and Paul to create a “space”
which is faith-centered and grounded in a positive learning environment
where our students are able to learn about themselves and their God-given
gifts while understanding the importance of sharing their gifts with others.
This in part is due to the example being set by each of you with your
continued commitment to our school.
This school year our junior high student council coordinated several
school-wide service projects to help others in need. They organized and
executed food drives to help restock the shelves at Loaves and Fishes; an
out of uniform day which collected over $1,700 to support women’s heart
health; the annual coin war brought in over $3,000 at Christmas time and
was donated to families in need; a collection of “comfort items” given to
Operation Support Our Troops – America; and in addition, the Spanish Club
conducted their annual nacho sale which raised over $400 for an orphanage
in Mexico. Through these efforts, our entire student body became active
participants in serving others in need.
Donations received through your generosity during the 2014-2015 school
year made it possible for us to provide financial assistance to families seeking
a Catholic education for their child but who would not be able to afford
one without assistance; to continue providing teachers with a Professional
Education Benefit Program in order to enhance their salaries so that we
can retain our excellent teachers; to purchase ninety new laptops and three
laptop carts; and to continue staff development and collaboration time for
teachers in the areas of writing and science.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment in helping Saints Peter and Paul
School provide students with the spiritual “space” and materials that will help
them to reach their full potential and become our sensitive Catholic leaders
of the future. Your investment in Catholic education will have a profound,
positive impact on the future.
Sincerely,
Karen Meskill
Principal
Reflections from the Advancement Board President
Dear Parents, Alumni, and Friends,
More than ever, I am energized and committed to Saints Peter and Paul School and its
vision for the 21st century. As just one of the many active parent volunteers, I thank YOU
for all that you have already done to strengthen the school and all that you will continue
to do in the coming years. Let’s keep up our enthusiasm, as we are just getting started!
Saints Peter and Paul School is a special place that inspires us throughout our entire
lives. For students, it is a springboard of education and faith formation for their future.
For parents and alums, it is a loyal community that reminds us of our ideals. At its
core is a quest for excellence, as the Catholic lens (Faith, Hope, and Love) focuses our
students’ application of knowledge (Math, Science, Reading) toward a heightened sense of
community, leadership, citizenship, and service to others. These are the same principles
that founded our country and that will sustain its future.
We are blessed to be part of a great parish and are grateful to our pastor, Father Milota,
who prioritizes support for the school. We are blessed to have such a talented faculty
and staff, led by our principal Karen Meskill. And thank goodness that our trusted
friend Frank Glowaty continues to see his Advancement Board vision through as our
Advancement Director. Talk about an All-Star cast!
Our community has been built by all of us and must be sustained by all of us. Great examples
are the considerable efforts made by our school parent and alum-staffed boards, including
the School Board, Home & School Association, Athletic Association, and the Advancement
Board. The Advancement Board’s aim is to steward the process by which we invite all of our
constituents who believe in Catholic education to make tax-deductible gifts to Saints Peter and
Paul School. The purpose of these funds is to both supplement each year’s operational budget
while also safeguarding the long-term financial viability of the school.
As you can see from the details in this Annual Report, we’ve been successful raising money and
establishing three endowments. OK, so we have all this money—what difference does it make
and why do we need more? Well, it makes the school possible. Our school’s current operational
budget receives a meaningful amount from endowment earnings and other Advancement
activities. This combines with the parish subsidy to create the environment of excellence that
our kids experience. In addition, this helps keep our tuition low so that we can support our
Catholic values.
Saints Peter and Paul School is a special place—for you, and because of you. Our prayer for our
students is that we successfully springboard them into achieving in high school and college
and into making a difference in the communities they help create, always guided by their faith.
Our prayer for parents, alums, and friends is that we are always here as a comforting rock of
idealism to continue to inspire them to answer God’s call. The parish has built a school culture
where we help teach our children what it means to be part of a community, by allowing our
kids to see people like YOU create and sustain a community in front of their eyes.
This is what you are supporting!
Sincerely,
Ryan Kubacki, SSPP Parishioner, School Parent, current President of the Advancement Board,
and Saints football coach

Your gift today
will make a
difference
forever.
Have you ever considered
including Saints Peter and Paul
School in your will or living trust?
Called a charitable bequest,
this type of gifts allows you to
acknowledge Saints Peter and
Paul in a meaningful way, make
a lasting difference in the lives of
future generations of our students,
and add to your personal legacy.
Best of all, you will be securing
Saints Peter and Paul School’s
future with a gift that will cost
you nothing during your lifetime.
The following is an example of the language your attorney may use
to include Saints Peter and Paul School in your plans:
Unrestricted Bequest:
“I give (______) dollars or ______percent of my
estate) (a specific asset) or (the remainder of my
estate) to Saints Peter and Paul School,
a charitable tax-exempt organization located in
Naperville, Illinois for its general purposes.”
Bequest for a Specific Purpose
“I give (______) dollars or ______percent of my
estate) (a specific asset) or (the remainder of my
estate) to Saints Peter and Paul School, a charitable
tax-exempt organization located in Naperville,
Illinois, to be used for the following purpose:
(state the purpose).
Most people choose to apply the proceeds of their
planned gift to one of four areas: Scholarships,
Teachers’ Supplemental Pay, Capital Expenditures,
or Curriculum Development. The choice, however,
is yours to designate as you see fit.
Note: It is important for us to show our appreciation for
your devotion and commitment to Catholic Education
and, most specifically, Saints Peter and Paul School. Thus,
we encourage you to let us know of your thoughtfulness in
leaving a bequest to Saints Peter and Paul School. We will
take great delight in welcoming you to the 21st Century
