Texas A&M Equestrian Initiative College Station, TX As work progresses across the site, Priefert has recently made its first delivery of product. PCD’s Shane Johnson and David Fillebrown had just finished the first stall installation when primary donor Jeff Hildebrand dropped in with George Georgiadis to inspect the site. By the middle of August, installation of all stall fronts and walkers for both the English and Western disciplines will begin. Completion of entire project is scheduled for December. George Georgiadis, left and Jeff Hildebrand inspecting installation of Priefert’s first stall at new TAMU Equestrian Barn At the time of the unfortunate June 22nd accident at the Texas A&M Equestrian Initiative Project, no Priefert employees were on site and no Priefert equipment was involved or damaged. Our thoughts and prayers are with those hurt in the A&M construction accident. With some delay, the project continues to move forward to become the great equestrian center as planned. Calgary Text below is a direct quote from May 31, 2013 Calgary Stampede Press release: Calgary – The Calgary Stampede is using technology and science to continually increase animal and cowboy safety in the century old tradition of cowboy sports. The Stampede’s existing chute system, installed over 30 years ago, is being replaced this week with the most advanced chute system available, employing modern technologies and animal handling techniques. “We’re committed to providing the best and safest equipment for all of our athletes, whether they’re animals or humans,” says Keith Marrington, Director, Rodeo and Chuckwagons, Calgary Stampede. “It was time to replace the Stampede’s old bucking chutes and technology has advanced to a point where we are able to provide our cowboys and animals with the finest equipment out there.” Throughout the process, the Stampede consulted with Jennifer Woods, a prominent, independent Livestock Handling Specialist, who advised the Stampede on the selection of the new chutes. “I really like these bucking chute gates. I have been looking at several others as I have traveled around the past couple of years and Priefert has done a superior job of addressing animal handling standards through innovation and design,” says Woods. Update on Calgary With the devastating flood that hit Calgary, many have wondered…….will the Stampede be cancelled or postponed? The answer from Stampede officials is a resounding NO! Crews are working around the clock to insure the 101st year of The Stampede will kick off on July 5th as planned. Although the recently purchased Priefert Bucking Chutes were completely submerged for two days, with a good power wash and a little WD40, they should be ready to do their part come rodeo time. This year will truly be a statement for the resilience and tenacity of the people of Calgary and Alberta. Priefert Complex Designs ∙ P.O. Box 1540 ∙ Mt. Will Rogers Complex In May, Priefert made final shipment to the City of Fort Worth for their most recent 680 Expo Stall purchase. Now, with almost 1700 Priefert stalls, the Will Rogers Coliseum has upgraded their facility to accommodate bigger and better equine events. One of the first to benefit was the 2013 Ranch Sorting National Championships. The RSNC broke all attendance records with 6734 teams competing. In addition there was a new cash prize record set with over $600,000 awarded and paid out. According to RSNC’s Don Gaddard, “the move to Fort Worth, Texas was also exciting. The stalling was first class with brand new Priefert stalls for the first 800 stalls and even more stalls for the overflow. One of the reasons we chose to move the finals to Fort Worth is that there are plenty of stalls and arenas available. ” See www.rsnc.us for more information about Ranch Sorting. St. Louis, MO – Purina Research Farm On May 15 & 16, PCD’s Sales Director David Fillebrown and Priefert Manufacturing’s Sales Manager Chip Tully were the guests of Purina’s David Nelson as they toured the famous Purina Research Farm at Gary’s Summit, MO. In addition to their personal tour of Equine, Beef and Dairy facilities, the group enjoyed the ceremonial dedication and ground breaking of Purina’s major expansion and renovation of research facilities. Gillette, WY – Gillette College Right on time ‐ the new arena for Gillette College’s Rodeo Team arrived in Northeast Wyoming. The successes of Coach Will LaDuke’s highly rated cowboys and cowgirls are well documented and this new arena should give the team “a leg up” for better practice. You can count on the Pronghorns to be in contention with any 4 year school in the country for national awards. Priefert is proud to be Gillette College’s choice for their rodeo equipment. Bob Feist Invitational Congratulations go out to Priefert endorsee Patrick Smith and his partner Trevor Brazile for their June 24th win at the 2013 BFI held in Reno, NV. The win was Patrick’s second at the “world’s richest one day roping” but the first and a true “bucket list” win for Trevor. These world champions have teamed up for the last few years to win most all the top roping events in the country. With the speed and consistency shown in Reno, this team could well be on their way to another great showing at the NFR. Guy McLean “Hats off” to our friend Guy McLean who once again proved his skills as an outstanding horseman! In addition to winning the 2013 Road to the Horse competition for the second year in a row, Guy earned the Jack Brainard Horsemanship Award, given by the legendary horseman to the competitor who best understood his colt. It’s clear that this Australian has a gift with horses and that his methods communicate trust and respect both quickly and effectively. Priefert is proud of our association with Guy. Visit www.guymcleanusatour.com to see when Guy will be near you. See him perform……….you will be amazed! Priefert Complex Designs ∙ P.O. Box 1540 ∙ Mt.
