Project:
Two-track extension of the AKN in Hamburg Eidelstedt
Construction costs:
n.a.
Client:
City of Hamburg / AKN
Period:
2000 to 2003
Performance:
Im Within the scope of the two-track extension of the AKN A1 route in HamburgEidelstedt, the rail bed was lowered and laid in a channel to allow the crossings at
Lohkampstraße, Pinneberger Chaussee and Upn Hornack to be elevated. The
roads were adapted accordingly and routed across the new channel. Public
transport stops for the new AKN Eidelstedt-Zentrum stop were installed for the
HHA. The new road layout also allowed many green areas with trees and
additional parking places to be created around the AKN stop. The lowering of the
rail system also meant that many supply pipes and sewers had to be moved.
Around 22,000 m² road surface in total was rebuilt, 1550 metres of sewers for dirt
water and rainwater as well as road drainage pipes with nominal widths of DN 250
to DN 900 had to be relocated and around 3500 metres of piping had to be laid or
moved for the utilities concerned.
The engineering services included all planning work for the construction of the
roads and drainage systems, including execution, the invitation to tender bids and
local construction monitoring, as well as the planning and coordination of the
piping and cable trenches for the utilities.
