The resident spotlight for
this month is John William
Dye, otherwise known as
Billy Dye. Billy was born
on a farm at Punchion Camp
near Wartrace, TN on July
5th, 1934. His parents were
Elmer and Mary Lou Dye and
a brother Joe Paul Dye and
a sister Sybil Dye Morgan.
Billy graduated from Shelbyville Central High
School in 1951 then was drafted into the Army and
served as a medic in Germany for two years. He
later worked at Eaton Corp in Shelbyville where
they made engines for Peterbuilt trucks, he retired
in 2000. Billy is married to Lena and together
they have six children, eleven grandchildren and
four great grandchildren. They belong to the
Church of Christ and serve and worship through
the congregation at Fairlane in Shelbyville. Billy
credits his Sunday school teacher who taught
him the importnace of memorizing scripture;
also, a school teacher who taught him to love and
memorize poems. Even now he can still quote
some of them! Billy loves gospel and country
music; even some of the “hippie” stuff! He also
enjoys cooking, dogs and cats and likes to watch
and feed the birds. Billy’s most favorite sports
teams are the Braves, the Titans and whoever is
playing Tennessee; especially Alabama! Billy
likes his buddies, he especially likes his nurses
and techs here at CCRC!

Employee of the Month
Becky Brown and Charmaine Jones
are our co-Employees of the Month
for November 2014. They are perfect
definition of teamwork between two
nurses on one unit. Although they
have very different personalities,
they are equally balanced partners.
They work together to ensure the
best care for the residents of their
unit. The residents all know that they
will never hear “I’m not your nurse.”
Both nurses are always willing
to help residents to the restroom
and getting them either food or drinks. When an
admission comes in whether it is on f-wing or g-wing,
the new resident as well as family members know
both nurses names within minutes. Just spending a
few minutes on the unit you will hear both of them
constantly asking each other if they need assistance
with anything and always reminding each other that
they are the best nurses they can be. Thank you
ladies for an award well deserved!
Alzheimer’s Support Group
Community Care Alzheimer’s Support Group meets
on the third Tuesday of the month at 5:00 pm in the

will be December 16th, 2014. Please feel free to
come and join us. If you have any questions please
contact the support group leader, Shawan Weathers
at [email protected] or call at 893-2624.
We hope to see you there.

From the Kitchen
Cinnamon Bread (Loaves)
FYI: One box of cake mix makes two loaves
1 package Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake Mix
¾ cup oil
¾ cup water
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup sugar
2 Tbsp cinnamon
Pour cake mix into a large mixing bowl. Remove 3
Tbsp from the mix and discard.
Add oil, water, eggs and vanilla/ Beat until completely
smooth. Grease each loaf pan and fill half way with
batter in a separate bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of the cinnamon sugar mixture on to the half filled loaf pan. Add remaining
batter to each loaf pan. Be mindful that the mix will
rise. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture
on top of each loaf. Using a butter knife, gently move
the batter around creating cinnamon swirls. Bake at
350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes
Hall of Trees 2014
