The American Legion Post 4 of Fort Collins/ LaPorte hosted the American Legion National Commander
Clarence Hill on April 7th. The dinner was very good and we had a informative talk with the national
commander. Commander Clarence Hill is also a Legion Rider and we shared some of our
accomplishments. We presented Clarence with a Navajo patch of the rider logo. Many posts were
represented at the dinner. Barb Day took some good pictures and these are some. Barb Day with the
National Commander and legion riders with the National Commander, from left, Tony DuMosch,Tony
Abbott, Robb Smith, Crystal Hedke, Patrick Reinhart, National Commander Clarence Hill, Jerry Hedke,
Barb Day, Dan Diefenderfer and Chris Day.
On April 1st American Legion Riders District 4 escorted soldiers of the 3/157 who have been in Iraq for 13
months from Buckley ANG Base to Broomfield for a Welcome Home Ceremony.
The Air Display the Legion Riders are involved in is getting along very well and will be held at Loveland/
Fort Collins Jet center. This event will have on display B-17, B-24, B-25 Bombers and Fighter planes
including a P-51 Mustang. This event will start July 9th 2010 at around noon with a USO type Hangar
Dance beginning at 6:30pm lasting until 10:00pm. July 10 and 11 will have all aircraft on display and
flying when anyone wishes to pay for a ride. The Bombers will offer rides along the front range for
$400.00 and a ride in a P-51 will be $3500.00. We will also have a Motorcycle show on July 11 from
1:00pm till 5:00pm with the first place prize for the best vintage (WW-11) motorcycle earning a ride in a
B-17 or B-24. On April 23 The Legion Riders District 4 will escort the Honor Flight from Embassy Suites
Loveland to D.I.A. Denver.
Please contact our Chaplain's
