Organization team meeting
On December 7, the 1st official organizational meeting was held in Victoria hotel in Martin. The chairman Jan
Pokrievka informed the team about the details of the 4-day event and schedule of the preparation process. A
real financial budget was presented (income & expenditure) as well. Team members’ suggestions were added
and some sponsors and partners are confirmed.
Schedule of preparation
The schedule of preparation is planned for 12 months, starting October 2012 till September 2013. It includes 70
particular tasks in organization, logistics, promo, finance, culture etc. It is an internal document for the needs of
the organization team and is written only in Slovak. Tasks done and completed will gradually be published in
English as well.
Financial budget
The financial budget has been agreed on. Its main part is the contribution from the town of Martin, Porter club,
Slovak Association of Brewing History and contracted sponsors. The finance will mainly be used for purposes
of promotion, logistics, culture and souvenir-making. Participants of BCWC are going to pay only for
accommodation, food, refreshment and a small admission fee and fee for tables ( other individual fees not
directly relating to the event organization).
Notary registration
In accordance with Slovak law, the smaller part of our budget will be covered
by on finances obtained from the 2% tax ratio of personal entities for 2012.
We have already fulfilled the first necessary condition which means the Porter
Club has been registered with the Chamber of Notaries of Slovak Republic.
We are planning to further gain new people potentially giving us their 2 % tax
share.
(In many countries do not recognize it. In Slovakia is a law and process, but
the options are limited).
Program of the event
A detailed program of the event is prepared for 4 days. We are still working on some details. Until the end of
the year it will be announced on our club web site and Facebook. In January it is going to be published in the
following BCWC News.
Presentation of Slovak Microbreweries
Throughout the BCWC we are also going to present Slovak microbreweries and small breweries. Negotiations
with breweries have already been finished and we have confirmed 7 Slovak breweries participating which will
offering more than 20 sorts of beer. A complete menu will be presented later on.
1st BCWC on Facebook
As a part of the promo campaign all over the world we have created a Facebook group “Brewery Collectibles
World Convention" which has 570 members so far. Its main purpose is to update current news about the
preparation of the event and respond to various suggestions, offers and requests for assistance. Hereby we are
kindly asking the members of global executive, collector clubs and our coordinators to add their friends as well
into this FB group .
Advertising and Media partners
We are working on promotion and advertising campaign of the World-wide meeting. We have signed the
agreement of cooperation with the advertising agency Tojes Print s.r.o. Poprad (banner – making and other
materials) and the printing company Neoprint Plus s.r.o. Vrútky (invitations, diplomas and other print
materials). The regional television TV Turiec was chosen as the media partner, h which we have had a longterm experience and cooperation with. Magazine Turciansky telegraf has promised to cooperate as well.
Guaranteed media support we have from the famous Slovak beer website KamNaPivo.sk (www.kamnapivo.sk).
We are of course going to use also other serious mass media to promote the event.
We have pocket calendars
We have already got our first promo materials. We have two kinds by pocket calendars for 2013. According to
needs and interest we will be sending them out to clubs taking part in BCWC and to our coordinators as well.
They will be available of course at some collectors meetings.
Our coordinators
We are still looking for other coordinators from abroad. We currently have 31 coordinators confirmed in 29
countries. Some have already started with genuine promotion and are actively in touch with us. We are working
hard on getting more coordinators till the end of this year in order to achieve another vital goal within the
preparation of the 1st BCWC.
