It is with great pride that we welcome you to our 17th
annual production sale. We are very excited and proud of the
horses we are offering for sale. The Weaver family has a long
tradition of raising horses. The family came to Montana in 1888
and have been breeding and raising horses ever since. Our brand,
X
A , was recorded in the Weaver name in 1888 and our
grandchildren are the sixth generation to ride horses with this brand.
We feel very fortunate to be a part of a business that we
love so much. We take great pride in our broodmares and the
colts they produce for you, the buying public. We try to raise a
horse that is versatile enough for any job you have for him or
her. All of the weanlings will be halter broke and registered
with the AQHA.
I feel this is one of the most even sets of colts we have every offered for sale. A big thank you to our
customers as we look forward to seeing and visiting with you on sale day.

GEMS AND STARLIGHT is a really well-made,
good-hipped son of GRAYS STARLIGHT.
“Starlight” received a lot of training, but because
of an ownership dispute he was never shown.
He is smooth to ride, very athletic and extremely
cowy. He is a lot of fun to ride. When Casey
rode Starlight on the ranch he said “he rode like
a cadillac.” Although Starlight was never shown,
his full sister STARLIGHT GEM was shown
very successfully in cutting. She won $231,786
and was the 1996 Open NCHA Non-Pro Super
Stakes Champion. She was 3rd in the 1995
NCHA Non-Pro Cutting Futurity. GEMS
EMERALD is the mother of eight performers
with winnings in excess of $319,000. She herself
won over $10,000 in cutting. We feel this is
hands down Starlight’s best set of colts yet. A
lot of the mares are money earners so these colts
will perform.
Starlight’s colts show a lot of style, have nice
heads, good muscling throughout and have that
pretty Starlight look. We ride several Starlight
colts and they are smart, cowy and easy to be
around. We are extremely proud of the GEMS
AND STARLIGHT colts, they truly represent
the type of horse we like to raise.
Merada Ima Boonsmal
MERADA IMA BOONSMAL is a pretty bay
roan horse with no white markings. He has
good withers, bone and a nice little head. He
is a super athletic son of PEPTOBOONSMAL.
MERADA SITE is an own daughter of
FRECKLES MERADA, and she has a LTE of
$17,700. This is definitely a cow horse pedigree
that has enhanced our program.
“Boonsmal” was trained and shown by Gary
Bellenfant and he made the finals at the PCCHA
Futurity in California in 2002. He ended up
9th out of 325 horses. David and I have shown
him throughout his career and he has a LTE of
$14,510.
We couldn’t be more proud of “Boonsmal.”
We have seen his colts well received by the buying
public in the last few years. Three times his colts
have topped our sale. Boonsmal sires colts with a
Merada Ima Boonsmal ridden by Gary Bellenfant
lot of bone, great hips and that nice little Merada
head. We also are seeing a lot of color out of him,
Bay Roan Stallion
and this just adds to the package. “Boonsmal” March 25, 1999 #3835499

Ima Tuf Lena
IMA TUF LENA is a buckskin stallion who
has really proven himself as a sire for us. He is
well built, stands 14.3 hands and weighs 1000
pounds. “Tuf ” has an exceptional hip and a
kind, gentle disposition. He possesses great
bone and has strong dark feet.
TUF N BUSY, an own son of BUENO
CHEX, has been to the World Show several
times. He was fourth in Senior Heeling. He
has his Superior in reining, heading and heeling.
TUF N BUSY has sired five world champions.
Four in the youth division - two in heading and
two in heeling. In 2001, he sired the World
Champion Junior Heeling Horses at the AQHA
World Show.
Tuf was not shown due to an injury, but when
he was ridden and in training he showed great
promises. He is extremely athletic, quick to learn
April 3, 1999
and these are traits he has passed on to his offspring.
Tuf was in training with JD Yates of Pueblo, CO. Tuf N Busy
His father, Dick Yates, was quoted as saying, “We
X
were sorry to lose that colt as a prospect, he had a
A
lot of talent” - a strong statement for as many good
horses as these guys have been around.

JD Yates showed a daughter of Tuf in 2009, IMA TUF MISSY.
IMA TUF MISSY was the AQHA High Point Junior Horse with
388 points in seven events. She qualified for the World Show in five
events, and won Reserve World Champion Head Horse. In 2010
she received her ROM in Performance Halter. In 2011 she won the
Congress in Ohio, and at the 2012 Sun Circuit in Arizona she was
the high point all around horse and won over 80 points and a saddle.
She has over 580 total AQHA points and will be shown at the 2012
AQHA World Show. A full sister sells as Lot #35.
PRCA Team Roping Heeler Cesar de la Cruz is riding a Tuf
son. The Tuf colts are making great minded ride horses with a lot of
athleticism and cow. Tuf ’s daughters are in production and proving
themselves to be exceptional mothers.
Tuf has become a popular sire for us as we have as many repeat
buyers for his colts as any stallion we own. We are glad people are
enjoying his offspring.
Ima Tuf Lena’s offspring are eligible

A really good looking five-yearold buckskin stallion out of MERADA IMA BOONSMAL. “Danny”
is really well broke and has a great
mind. We have ridden him on the
ranch, and he has done everything. He is a high caliber athlete with that
willing to please attitude. A fantastic ranch horse with an excellent mind
and tremendous ability. Everyone that rides him comments on his good
manners and easy going personality. His colts this year are all out of first time mares and we bred him to
a lot of older mares for next year. We are excited about his future here at Weaver Quarter Horses.

I have long admired the CEE BOOGER RED horses. I was excited when I found
CEE BOOGER ROANO. He is the next to last colt sired by the late CEE BOOGER
RED. “Booger” is an extremely well-muscled horse. He has good withers, bone and
a big hip. He is extremely gentle, well broke to ride, and has been hauled in calf
roping. CEE BOOGER RED has sired three AQHA Reserve World Champions in
Tie-Down Roping and one Tie-Down Roping Year End High Point Winner. He is
the sire of BOOGERS RED HARLEN, owned and ridden by Jerome Schneeberger.
Twice he has taken Jerome to the NFR. He is also the sire of BADGER BAD BOY, or
“Mr Touchdown,” the horse ridden by Joe Beaver. Joe won two world titles and the
Calgary Stampede $50,000 bonus on him. We think you will really like “Booger’s” colts. They are big-hipped, correct and good boned
horses. This is the type of horse we like to raise. “Booger” has a gentle disposition and this is prevalent in his colts as well. These colts
will really ride.

White and she was the owner of TUF N BUSY. This was the colt she kept to replace
TUF N BUSY. We feel very fortunate to be able to own a horse of this caliber.
GENUINELY BUSY has a great cow horse pedigree. An own son of TUF N BUSY
and TUF N BUSY’S offspring have won over 3,157 AQHA points and he has sired 27
ROM winners, mostly in roping events. Plus, they have won at all levels of roping from
Amateur to PRCA with earnings in NCHA, NRHA and NRCHA.
GENUINE LEIGH WRIGHT is an outstanding calf roping horse and is currently
being hauled in the PRCA. She is an own daughter of LENA’S WRIGHT ON. He has
a LTE of $109,995 and won the NRHA futurity as a three-year-old and was an AQHA
World Champion Working Cow Horse as a five-year-old. He is the sire of NRHA and
NRCHA money earners as well as an AQHA Champion.

A really pretty palomino stud that we leased from John Lopez
of South Dakota. An own son of FRENCHMAN’S GUY the leading sire of barrel horses in the nation with winnings
of over $24 million. They are being ridden at all levels from
local barrel races to the NFR. His colts are proven winners.
COWBOYS FRENCHMAN’S mother is a really pretty red
roan mare that is a double bred ORPHAN DRIFT. This is
a rodeo bred pedigree - we are breeding him to daughters of
IMA TUF LENA and POCO IMA DOC. We are excited
about these crosses. “Cowboy’s” colts are easy to be around
and really ride - they are also proving themselves in the arena.
A special thanks to Jim Hunt for helping find this fine horse.
His colts will be in demand next year, and we are looking forward to seeing them.

We sold IMA BIT OF HEAVEN in
our 2009 sale to Stephen Coates, Jr. of
San Angelo, TX. “Ima’s” impact on our
program will continue for many years.
Now, it will be his daughters that will leave
a lasting legacy. We have 28 daughters in
the broodmare band, and eleven are money
earners in either NRCHA or NCHA. Two
daughters are producers of money earners,
and this list will only grow in future years.
Ima colts have won AQHA points in working cow horse, cutting,
reining, ranch sorting, and team penning. One was third at the AQHA
World Show in Team Penning. This last year a daughter made the
finals at the AQHA World Show in both Ranch Sorting and Team
Penning. We will continue to breed a few mares to Ima each year.

large number of daughters we have
retained over the years. I rode Poco on
the ranch gathering and sorting cattle.
He was so easy-going and rode like a
gelding. When he was not with the
mares Poco ran and wintered out with
ranch geldings.In 2007 and 2008 Poco
Ima Doc was awarded MQHA Broodmare Sire of the Year. This
is a prestigious award and can only be won by a stallion that has
at least five daughters in production and some of the grandget
have to have performed. Poco will be greatly missed, and forever
admired as a cornerstone to the Weaver Ranch.

A really well bred mare is the mother to this fancy bay stud colt. He is one
of the youngest colts in the sale, but is still the same caliber as the rest. We
showed his dam and she was an outstanding fence horse. She won the fence at
the Canadian Supreme as a three-year-old. We showed her four times and she
was never below a 74 and got a 76 twice. I promise this colt will eat up a cow.

A really well bred, later born filly. The mother is a full sister to
two NRCHA money earners. This is the filly we will award to a
youth at the sale through the AQHA Ranching Heritage Youth
Horse Development Program. With her proven pedigree, she will enjoy the program as much as you.
If you are between the ages of nine and eighteen, be sure and register at the sale and you may win this colt. The
AQHA is going to give the winner a Lifetime Membership to the AQHYA. The only other rules are that the youth
must be present at the sale and they must have the means and knowledge to take care of the weanling. Each youth at
the sale will put his name in a drawing pot and sometime during the sale we will draw the winner. These colts can be
shown starting their yearling year, through aged events. You can still be a part of the program even if you choose not to
show your horse. If you buy any of our weanlings, follow the AQHA Ranching Heritage Young Horse Development
Program and complete the AQHA pamphlet at all levels, we will let you bring the horse back when he or she is four
or five-years-old and sell it through the sale. If you have any questions just give me a call or talk to me at the sale.

Our ranch was established over one hundred years ago by Winfield Young. As the fifth generation to live
and work the land we are a traditional outfit with modern performance horse pedigrees. We still break all of our
own colts and ride all of our own bloodlines from horses we raise. All aspects of ranch work is done from the
back of our horses and all of our horses are raised in big country. Breeding for good, tough horses has always been
a part of ranch operations passed down from Bill Young
(Una’s Grandfather and Barb’s Father). Our stallions and
broodmares are carefully selected by proven pedigrees
with an emphasis on speed, cowsense, conformation and
disposition. We take great pride in our program and we
invite our buyers past and present to give us feedback on
the horses we raise. It is our responsibility as breeders to
put out there the best horses we can. As always, we invite
you all to come to the ranch and visit anytime.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. We lost PC MR SUN PEPPY this past
fall. He was a great stallion for us and his colts have really taken off. We have nine daughters
by him that are in our broodmare band, so his influence will continue to be in our program for
years to come. His daughters are proving to be some of our best producers and we will always
be in debt to PC MR SUN PEPPY. As a performer, PC MR SUN PEPPY, amassed over
$10,000 in barrel winnings in just a single season. We ran “Sunny” in 2001 barrel futurities
and with limited training he was a two-time barrel futurity champion, won the prestigious
Fizz Bomb Super Horse Award, and place in nearly every event he competed in. “Sunny” is
an own son of SUN FROST, the legendary Cowan Brothers’ sire who has produced winner
of over $2 million. As a sire, Sunny really stepped up as one of the leading producing son
of SUN FROST. They are winning in a variety of events including barrels, roping, halter, and they make good, tough saddle horses.
As performers, Sunny colts are super quick athletes, they have a lot of turn, and they have a real low to the ground kind of running
style. We are really getting a lot of repeat buyers on the Sunny offspring and we continue to get great feedback on some “Big Time”
prospects that have emerged and on some that will be stepping up as players in the years to come. Sunny’s colts are eligible for the
Barrel Breeders Incentive, 5-State Barrel Futurity and Valley Girls Barrel Futurity.

PADDYS SHOTA MERADA a 2000 bay stallion is

and is an aged event winner with limited showing. In
2004, “Paddy” was one of two horses to make it to the
finals in both the open and the non-pro derby at the
Canadian Supreme. Paddy is an own son of the great
PADDYS IRISH WHISKEY (LTE $12,149 NCHA)
who is arguably one of the most versatile sires today
and was named the top versatility ranch horse sire
by the Western Horsesman. He has sired offspring
that have won over $1,600,000 in nearly every
performance event ranging from Cutting, Reined
Cowhorse, Reining, Roping and Versatility Ranch
Horse. He is an all time leading sire in the NRCHA
and NRHA. Paddys dam, MOLLIE MERADA (LTE
$7650 NCHA), is an own daughter of FRECKLES
MERADA (LTE $106, 684) and is proving to be a
great producer as well with offspring winning nearly
$100,000 NCHA.
The PADDYS SHOTA MERADA colts are versatile
all around horses with exceptional minds. We have
retained a number of “Paddy” colts for saddle horses
as they have show horse ability, they are really cowy,
athletic, and quick, yet they are the gentlest horses we
have. The two-year-olds are easy to start as they are
trainable and seem to retain everything you put out in
front of them. The Paddys are performers as well: they
are doing well in reining, team penning, and a Paddy
colt won the Montana Reined Cowhorse Stallion

the ranch as well. “Perks” was on his way to being a top notch barrel horse with Judy Myllymaki but his career was cut short due to a
breeding accident. Judy told us that Perks was one of the best minded stallions that she had ever trained. We are riding a number of
Perks colts and they are some of the most laid back, trainable colts I have ever ridden. Nothing bothers these horses and I am really
surprised how much rate these colts have for having a lot of speed in their pedigrees. I have a three-year-old filly that I kept for our

his sire, and his dam, all fit this mold as they are very durable as far as their conformation. They
have good bone, are well-muscled, have low hocks and they are really short through the cannon
bones. Bred in the purple, Shaker possesses the great blood of STREAKIN SIX, FIRST DOWN
DASH, FRENCHMANS GUY, with BOON BAR rounding out a versatile pedigree that is evident
in a high number of performance horses today, sire ROYAL SHAKEM, earner of nearly $300,000,
has produced some outstanding rope, barrel, and speed horses earning over $2,000,000. His dam,
FRENCHMANSFANCYFREE, is a full sister to Butch Knowles’ standout stallion FRENCHMANS FALCON, and she has already produced two standout performers.
We have ridden FRENCHMANS SHAKE EM since his two-year-old year and he is the quietest

Six-year-old gray gelding that our eight-year-old granddaughter Hailey rode
during the summer. He did a good job of taking care of her. He is really
cowy, moves out well and is smooth to ride. He is easy to catch and to shoe.

A top notch ranch horse. He has done every job on the ranch, is very smart
and easy to look at. “Paco” drug calves to the fire, has been roped off of in the
pasture, chased horses, and has had a bull whip used off of him. As good a
ranch horse as you will ever find. Easy to catch and shoe. I consider this one
of the top saddle horses we have ever offered in our sale.

A good Ima Tuf Lena bay gelding that has seen a lot of ranch work. Very
athletic and would make a really good heel horse - he sure has the pedigree
for it. Easy to catch and be around. Because of his quickness, he is not for a
beginning rider.

A well-bred mare. She has had a lot of ranch riding and is quiet, easy to catch
and be around. She is really cowy and will go all day. She would make a great
team penning horse. She has the breeding to be a top broodmare down the
road.

Weaver Quarter Horses
Dear Friends:
I hope this letter finds you in good health and experiencing the best life has to offer.
2012 has been an interesting year on the ranch. We received good moisture and consider
ourselves very lucky. A lot of our friends are going through a severe drought. We are still
experiencing the effects of the last two very cold and wet Springs as we have a lot of mares
with later colts and a few more dry mares than we normally have.
KellyAnne and Casey are still in Lewistown and have been there for almost six years.
KellyAnne is the Director of the Lewistown Public Library, and Casey is the manager of a
ranch in the Snowy Mountains. They bought a ranch this past summer so they can run
more of their own cattle. Wyatt (9) will be in the fourth grade. He loves to ride and be
around the horses and enjoys being able to do anything outside. Avery (7) is a creative little
girl and keeps her parents on their toes running her to dance and art lessons. David leases a
ranch south of Chinook, MT and helps us on the home ranch. He also has his own cattle and trucking company. Hailey (8) spent
the summer with her dad and she loves to ride horses as well. Daniel has continued with his farming and he leases a hay place by
Denton, MT. Nancy and I feel very fortunate to have all three of our children close to us and involved in agriculture and ranching.
We are proud that all three of our children help us on the ranch and with the horse sale, it continues to be a family operation.
This past year I have been involved with the Ranching Heritage Breeders and serve as Chairman of the AQHA
Ranching Council. Our first Ranching Heritage Challenge in Fort Worth was a huge success. Getting youth more involved in
agriculture is one of our priorities and the AQHA Ranching Heritage Youth Horse Development Program will help youth get
started. As an added incentive, if you buy any of our colts in the sale, are between the ages of 9 and 18, and go through this AQHA
program, we will let you bring that horse back and sell him as a four or five year old through the sale. Our hope is for these young
people to have an outlet for these horses they have worked so hard with. If you have any questions see me at the sale or give me a
call anytime.
Nancy and I went to Amarillo, TX on July 17-19 because I was asked to serve on the AQHA Hall of Fame Selection
Committee. I consider it a great honor and a privilege to serve on such a committee, and look forward to working with many
great horse people in the process.
I look forward to visiting with all our old friends as well as new at this year’s sale. Nothing compares to getting a letter,
e-mail or a phone call from one of our customers and hearing how well the horse is doing and how much they enjoy them. Getting
that call is one of the reasons I love the horse business so much. If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. May
God bless each and every one of you until we meet again.
