Goal
Growing meaningful and productive participation by developing a
seamless and effective club service by enhancing the effectiveness of
the organisation via innovative use and adoption of ICT.
Scott Evans, the Irish No 1 men’s singles player and double Olympian, continued
to show why he is a threat on the world badminton scene in 2014.
Strategy
1. Grow juvenile participation through a formal nationwide schools
badminton programme.
2. Create a conducive club centric environment.
3. Streamline and simplify information management.
4. Win medals that matter for Ireland.
The Dublin native, who made a major breakthrough when he won the Carlton Irish
Open title in December 2012, has notched up a number of good performances
since then. In January 2013, he got his season off to the perfect start by winning
the Cyprus Open and followed this up by beating world No 39 Ville Lang of Finland
at the Danish Super Series event. Evans made the last 16 of the London Grand Prix
Gold where he beat former world No 12 Yan Kit Chan of Hong Kong. He then
reached the final of the $120,000 Bitburger Grand Prix Gold event in Germany.
2014 saw some of Scott’s best performances of his career to date, most notably
winning the gold at the 2014 $50,000 Brazilian Grand Prix and reaching the finals
of the Bitburger Open.
