President’s
Message
Roberta (Bobbie) Galkin, 2012 President
Middlesex County Association of REALTORS®
Hello.
I went to sleep last night and had a horrible dream. I dreamed that I was
not able to be in the Real Estate business. I have been a REALTOR® for
almost 30 years and it is part of my being. People say it is probably in my
blood.
Why couldn’t I do Real Estate anymore? I tossed and turned and tossed
some more, what will I do? In my dream I saw the banks were selling Real
Estate and took over the entire business. We know what happened with
the Banks in the past with mortgages so what makes the government
think they could do a better job than the professional REALTORS®. They
want to sell Real Estate because then they can control the entire process
of home ownership. OH MY GOD! Then I tossed some more and saw in my
dream that all my investors disappeared and were not buying Real Estate.
Why? Because the government needed more money and they passed
eliminating the mortgage interest deduction from our taxes. Then the
government tried to make every home being sold, including pre-owned,
homes to become energy efficient. Well, I tossed and turned and tossed
and turned again. Then, I dreamed that every owner had to come up with
20% down. The poor first time buyers would disappear.
All of a sudden I woke up. I realized it was only a dream and that all these
horrible things could be prevented.
It takes every one of us little people with a small contribution to RPAC to
fight these issues. These are the people fighting for our rights and our
livelihood. We can prevent this if you give at least $25 to RPAC this year by
supporting the functions and have fun at the same time.
The first 20 members to contribute $500 to RPAC this year will receive one
registration to Triple Play REALTOR® Convention in December. Wake up
and Give. It’s your Life.
If you wish to reach me, call (732) 548-5555 or send an email to [email protected].

REALTOR® RALLY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
®
Nearly 250 REALTORS from New Jersey joined over 13,500 REALTORS® from across the country to rally in Washington, D.C. to
protect the American Dream in front of the Washington Monument on May 17 including MCAR President Bobbie Galkin and
MCAR President-Elect John Zennario (in left photo). The rally's main goal was to urge Congress to take steps to strengthen the
real estate industry, ensuring that home ownership, housing and real estate issues continue to be a public policy priority in this
country. REALTORS® believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue the dream of home ownership, and REALTORS® will fight against obstacles that make it more difficult for people to buy, own and invest in real estate. For more information about the Rally to Protect the American Dream, visit www.realtorrally.org.
THANK YOU TO THE MIDDLESEX COUNTY AOR MEMBERS WHO ATTENDED THE RALLY!

Contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may contribute more or less than the suggested
amount. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal and the National Association of
REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any
member because of the amount contributed. 70% of each contribution is used by RPAC of
New Jersey to support state and local political candidates. Until RPAC of New Jersey reaches
its RPAC goal, 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged
against your limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a; after RPAC of New Jersey reaches its RPAC goal it may
elect to retain your entire contribution for use in supporting state and local candidates.
