internationally acclaimed
photojournalist Don McCullin.
This is the first ARTIST ROOMS
exhibition of these powerful
images. McCullin worked for
over 20 years documenting
conflict throughout the world
including; Vietnam, Cyprus,
Northern Ireland and Beirut.
For McCullin, the work wasn’t
simply about the photographs,
but about humanity. The issues
raised by these images are

Julie Dennison is currently
a full time student, who
is doing her First Year of
BA (Hons) Contemporary
Textiles at Shetland College
UHI. The majority of
these woodcut prints were
created when she studied
NC Art and Design, between
August 2013 and July 2014.
She really took to creating
woodcuts during the
printmaking module and,
under Paul Bloomer’s tuition
and support, thrived on it
and has continued to create
illustrative prints featuring
landscapes and recognisable
Shetland scenes. A number
of prints feature a recurring
character, a grouchy
Shetland fisherman named
Tammie o’ Stova, who
features in a story which Julie
is yet to write.
Chris Rigby is a landscape
painter whose work
embraces the physical
process of representing the

photographer Don
McCullin, directors Jacqui

From London’s West End
- Richard Armitage stars
in Arthur Miller’s classic
American drama, based
on Salem’s infamous witch
trials, brought vividly to
life in this visceral new
production by internationally
acclaimed director Yaël
Farber.
In a small tight-knit
community in Salem,
Massachusetts, personal
grievances collide with lust
and superstition, fuelling
widespread hysteria. Miller’s
timeless parable attacks the
evils of mindless persecution
and the terrifying power of
false accusations.
Richard Armitage’s film
and TV credits include The
Hobbit trilogy, Into the
Storm, Captain America:
The First Avenger and
Spooks. Theatre includes
The Duchess of Malfi and
Macbeth for RSC.
Yaël Farber is a multiple
award-winning director and
playwright. Her production
of Mies Julie won a string of
international awards at the
2012 Edinburgh Festival, was
named one of the Top Ten
Productions of 2012 by The
New York Times, and Top
Five Productions of 2012 by
The Guardian.
