GRAND KNIGHT‘S MESSAGE
Brother Knights,
November is here, and the Holiday Season
is beginning all too soon. Last month, the
Testimonial Dinner for our Past Grand Knight,
Anthony Corso was held at the Council on
October 24th. It was a complete sell out and
Tony received all the rewards he earned while
Grand Knight. Thanks to PGK Carl Bartolotti for making
such a successful and enjoyable evening for all of us who
attended. Tony received his Past Grand Knights Plaque,
his PGK Ring and Jewel and accepted the Orders Circle of
Honor Plaque on behalf of the Council and its Members
Next up on the Council’s agenda is preparation for
the Annual Children’s Christmas Party on December
13th. More information is in this newsletter.
The C&B Program is up and running and PGK Tony
Corso is the Council C&B Chairman. This is a vital
program for both the Council and the Order, please help
if you can. See Tony for C & B books.

Dear Sister Columbiettes:
As I mentioned in our October bulletin, I asked you to
stay tuned about any of our future events. Here comes
our first - Friday, November 20th, Night At the Races,
time 7:30 pm. Price $15 per person. Our chair lady is
Stefana Corso. Her telephone number is 718-372-4623.
This is the first social Stefana is hosting, so please come
and have a fun evening and support Stefana in her first
endeavor. Getting out for an evening of fun is a good
thing. I hope to see many of you there. It is open to all
Columbiettes, family and friends. Contact Stefana for
reservations, or see her at our Monday, November 9th
business meeting. We are also calling this "Coney Island
Nite".
Prayers for a full recovery for Sister Columbiette Ann
Cagnetto from successful surgery. Also prayers for Past
President Rachel Barbaro also recovering from a fall and
hospital stay.

Council News
MOTIONS:
1. Motion by PGK Carl Bartolotti to expend the sum
of $150.00 for a full page ad in the NYS Convention
journal; Seconded by Fred Manzola, discussion,
moved, All In Favor, motion passed.
2. Motion by Bob Vezzuso, to “honor” Br. Izzy
Chinnici with a luncheon at the Council and not to
exceed the sum of $500.00 for the collation;
seconded by Mike Bacolo, Ed McGibbon, Carl
Bartolotti, motion discussion was moved and the
motion was passed unanimously.
3. Motion by PGK Carl Bartolotti to expend the sum
of $220.00 to purchase 12 coats for the “Kotes 4
Kids” program, and deliver them to “HeartShare”;
seconded by Ed McGibbon, Jerry Mandaro and
others; discussion was moved and motion was
passed unanimously.

FOOD
PROGRAM:
Our fraternal year is
drawing to a close and
our June meeting is the
Grand Knights
Appreciation night that
is an "all you can eat
fest". We are fortunate
that we have food to eat and can afford this luxury. There
are many families right here in our parish that cannot
afford this and knock on St. A's door every week for help.
We can help too. Remember to bring a
nonperishable item of food when you come to the
council. Soups, Pastas, Vegetables, Peanut Butter, Jelly,
Cereal, etc. Every little item goes a long way in feeding
families and individuals who struggle to survive. Thank
you to all that do remember and bring food when they
attend functions. Please keep it up. It's easy to
forget. Matthew 25:35: For I was hungry and you gave me
something to eat ... Thank you Phil Randazzo for your
generous contribution to the food pantry.

Congratulations to Brother Mike Romersa. Mike
was installed by The Pope as a "Knight of the Order of St.
Gregory". Quite an honor
and we are proud to
have him as a member of
our council. For those
who don't know Mike, he
has been a member since
2008, but due to his busy
schedule and the fact that
he lives in Connecticut
he is unable to join us at meetings and events.

Past Grand Knight
Testimonial Dinner & Dance
On Saturday October 24, 2015 the Council celebrated a
testimonial dinner & dance honoring our Past Grand Knight,
Tony Corso. There was a cocktail hour starting at 7:30 and
dinner followed with an “open bar”. For our dancing
pleasure, we had “MµSIC– n – CxT” entertaining us. It is a
customary practice for Cavallaro Council to pay tribute to
and acknowledge our Past Grand Knights. This night was a
special evening for Tony and his family as well as all of our
members. The food was great and the drinks were plentiful.
But best of all was the camaraderie between our Brother
Knights. Tony was presented with a number of gifts
including the “traditional” Past Grand Knight Ring; his
lovely wife Stefana was presented a beautiful bouquet of
flowers.

Our Council will be hosting our annual Children’s
Christmas Party for children from HeartShare as well as
children or grandchildren of our members. There is no
charge or ticket necessary to attend this party; the ONLY

NOT be able to provide a gift for your child. Parents and

MEMORIAL MASS :
On Sunday November 8th,
the Council will attend its annual Memorial Mass
(St. A’s) honoring those members of Cavallaro Council
who have been called by our Lord. Mass will be
celebrated by
Msgr. Cassato
at 10:00 AM
and after Mass
we will go back
to the Council
for a “brunch”.
There is NO
