Greetings dear TTPYC members and
friends,
Fall Series Race 4, 5
We have come full circle with
another year together. It has been my
Change of Watch
honor and privilege to serve as your
Halloween Party
commodore and I will, in my heart, always
treasure the confidence, cooperation, and
November
patience you have shown me as I
Winter Race Series 1,2 muddled my way through, learning right
along with you. This has been a year of amazing growth for our
Daylight Savings Time
club, innovative cruises, the most financially successful MSSS,
Ends
increased participation at races, and some rocking good times at
General Membership Meeting
our monthly dinner socials. Soon the reins of leadership will be
Winter Series Race 3,4,5 handed to our new bridge officers, with Kersten Hubbard at the
helm. New officers will be announced at our Change of Watch,
December
and Kersten is busy at this writing securing her appointed
officers and special task force leaders. Remember, when she
Vashon Race
calls you say "sure, I could do that!" ...Or, better yet, call her?!

Speaking of new leadership, by now you have received
your Change of Watch invitation. So, dust off those spats, shake
out your flapper frocks, borrow (or steal?) a gangster hat, or don
that newsboy cap and suspenders. We are going to have FUN!
Hey, you could even bring your ukulele, if you are of a mind to do
so. On that evening, I will be recognizing individuals who have
served the club this past year. Please contact me (phone, snail
mail or email) with ideas that you have for recognizing leadership
and innovation among our club members who do not have
formal positions. I have an "inspiration" award to pass on this
year, as well as our perennial favorites, That Sinking Feeling and
the Cruise Boat of the Year, the latter two which have forms on
our web site. Also, if your past commodore flag is looking
frayed and sad, contact Kersten Hubbard about a replacement.
We want to always honor you for your service.
Fall Race Series concluded on October 6, and our Winter Series Races begin
November 3rd. Consult your race calendar for other exciting race events in the area that are
sponsored by other clubs.
At our September annual meeting we passed our new by-laws change. I sent you all
the minutes. Please contact me if you would like more clarification of what happened at that
meeting. We had a great time, while conducting vital club business.
Our second Tuesday monthly dinner socials resume in November. Watch your email
and Barnacle for details on location and featured guests. And save the second Tuesday in
December for our funky holiday celebration.
Looking forward to seeing you at Change of Watch. I will be the one in my
grandmother's red (of course) flapper dress and my commodore cap (my blue blazer will
probably be ditched early in the evening.) Let's boogie together and celebrate our
commitment to the pleasures of boating, caring for the waters of Puget Sound, and supporting
our communities and each other.
With Appreciation for all that you do to make TTPYC thrive,

Congratulations to Jean Spohn who was the first to email Kristie
A special Thanks to Rose Edmiston for sharing her wonderful summer cruising/
vacation photos!
She and Orv traveled to the Banff area for a hiking trip and took some photos of the
critters they saw.
But the most amazing photos were of some visitors who dropped by while Rose and Orv were
crossing the Strait returning from San Juan Islands! I think they knew that Rose and Orv are
animal lovers!
( Or were they looking for a place where “everybody knows your name”..Cheers!)
