Tech Tip: 0uick Trick
for Private Drowsing (0oing Incognito)
Do you want a simple way to activate private browsing for personal security on your
browser (e.9., Chrome, Explorer, Firefox) using a shoricut?
A browser set to private prevents the use of cookies and history. There are many reasons
to use private browsing - for example, limiting the extent to which others (e.9., shared
computer users, big data companies) can track your lnternet browsing activities. The
following instructions explain how to launch a new window in private browsing mode for
three common browsers. Chrome users, simultaneously press down and release CTRL,
Shift, and "N"; Explorer and Firefox users, simultaneously press down and release CTRL,
Shift and "P."
There is no built-in shortcut for private browsing using a Mac and Safari. However, Mac
and Safari users can create a private browsing shortcut themselves. Visit the library reference desk for more details.

Tenth
0ook Discussion
Tenth of December by George Saunders
Named one of the "Ten Best Books" of 2013 by The
New York Times Book Review, Tenth of December
by George Saunders is a collection of short stories
you won't soon forget. Brilliantly funny and ruthlessly
insightful about contemporary America - its anxieties,
antagonisms, and hypocrisies - these stories show us
a world very much like the one in which we live. Saunders seasons his tales of
suburban American life with just the slightest touch of absurdism, inviting us to
recognize in the alienated Iives of his characters intriguing traces of ourselves.
Refreshments will be served, compliments of The Friends. Copies of the book
are available at the Circulation Desk. Peter West will moderate.
Date: Friday, May 15. Time: 1:30 p.m.
Defensive Driving

State DMV driving record. This point reduction could help you avoid license
suspension.
