Livis Have Moved
New Projects
As the business has been growing and moving into new markets our premises
quickly became too small to accommodate our operations. So we have invested in
new premises which provide modern and bright office facilities for our employees
and visitors. We are now situated near Ebbsfleet International Station with
high-speed links into London.
New Challenges! New Brand!
In January 2014 we embarked upon a rebrand of Livis which is part of a wider
growth strategy that was underpinned by independent research. The outcome of the
whole rebranding exercise has been successful and feedback has been positive and
uplifting. We can now clearly describe Livis as follows:
Livis is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and construction company delivering
projects that are time and safety critical in environments that include transport,
water, power, ports and harbours and other challenging sectors.
Simply put, we are:
‘built for challenging environments’
Stratford Ramp
Livis are currently on site at Stratford Station
continuing with the DLR access ramp installation.
The ground condition survey undertaken revealed
the necessity to pile before installing the ramp
foundations. Even with the extremely small
working area between NWR and LUL lines, Livis
and subcontractor UPAC successfully installed
38 mini piles at approx. 10m depths over a two
week period using a Grundomat piling rig.
Steel fixers and shuttering carpenters have since
been on site and installed the robust reinforcement
and formwork for the ramp foundation. The
foundation was poured in 2 engineering shifts, by
pumping concrete from road level up to the
works location over 200m away. Structural
Steel work is due to be delivered to site in Mid
February to begin installation.
Livis have been awarded the
following contracts:
Kennington RVAR
The contract is for the construction of
RVAR humps on platforms 1 and 3
including adits and modification works to
the previously installed (by others) RVAR
humps on platforms 2 & 4.
These are modular platform humps
installed during Engineering Hours
allowing the station to stay open to the
public.
Piccadilly Circus
The contract is a Design & Build project
for the replacement of a steel spiral
staircase in non-public area plus
associated cladding, lighting and other
minor services alterations.
Three Kings Piece Pond
This contract is for the London Borough
of Merton for investigation works to
obtain information relating to the structure
and shape of the pond in order to assess
the suitability of several proposed options
for a bridge structure.
Earls Court (Stake Tiling)
The first task order has been issued to
Livis under the Stake Tiling Framework,
which is for Earls Court Station with
completion in April 2014.

The works at Buckhurst Hill Station will be completed this month. These works
involved strengthening over 100 metres of retaining wall and installing new track
and platform drainage and resurfacing the two platforms in there entirety bringing
the station in line with Disabled Discrimination Act compliance.
The programme was extremely challenging and works were completed over a 10
week period, to a value 1.3 million. After delivery of our programmed works, Livis
was instructed to complete a new brick façade to specification.
Whilst working at Buckhurst Hill, Livis achieved its second Beacon Award. The
London Underground Station Works and Improvement Programme (SWIP) team,
have been working extremely hard together with Livis to achieve the first Beacon
award for the SWIP department. This was successfully achieved early December
2013 and has now set the benchmark.
