Tips
It will be here before you

1. As your various tax reporting
forms come in, file them appropriately
and in one specific place.
2. Report Dividends. Year-to-date
dividends will appear on your year-end
statement. Members who earned $10 or
more in dividends will also receive a
1099 form by January 31, 2013.
3. Make your 2012 IRA contribution.
LFCU must receive your 2012
contribution by April 15, 2013. Don’t
have an IRA? LFCU offers IRA
accumulation accounts and IRA
certificates. We can help you roll over IRA
funds from another institution. Your
LFCU IRA account is federally insured by
the National Credit Union Administration.
4. Tax Credits. Take advantage of tax
credits if you can. Visit www.irs.gov for
more information.
5. Check your flex spending account.
Make sure your deductions are up to
date and meeting your needs.
6. Free Tax Preparation. AARP
sponsors a Tax Aide Program using IRS
trained/certified volunteers beginning
the first week in February and continuing
until April 15. For the nearest site, times

taxaid/taxpreparation.
7. Faster Tax Returns. Consider
having your tax refund electronically
deposited to your LFCU account. It is
easy to set up and you’ll get your refund
faster. On your tax form, use our routing
and transit number (231177100) and
your account number exactly as it
appears on your monthly/quarterly
statement.

BAND DAY at the University of Delaware
“Louviers FCU proudly worked together with
the University of Delaware again this year in
giving local high school students the
opportunity to play along with a top-ranked
Division I University band in front of nearly
20,000 fans. Sponsoring Band Day is just one of
the ways we can help students and give back to
our community,” said Louviers FCU President and
CEO James Everhart, Jr. As sponsor for the Band Day football game, Louviers FCU
provided all participating high school band members with a complimentary yellow
T-shirt to wear as they performed on the field.
Newark Community Day
Louviers FCU participated in the 2012
Newark Community Day event.
Community Day is a longstanding
Newark community event that involves
Newark residents, the University of
Delaware, the Christina School District,
the Downtown Newark Partnership and
the City of Newark.
Taste of Newark
Louviers FCU was a Presenting Sponsor for the 9th Annual Taste of Newark held on
the lawns of the University of Delaware on September 30. This fundraising event raises
money for the Downtown Newark Partnership, UD’s Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional
Management Program, the Newark Art Alliance, the Newark Historical Society, the
Newark Symphony and the UD Cheerleaders.
Delaware Auto Show
As one of the major sponsors
for the 2012 Delaware Auto Show
held at the Chase Center on the
Wilmington Riverfront, Louviers
FCU's employees spent time talking to
attendees and their families during the
three-day event about the benefits of credit
union membership, which includes being a
great loan source.
Newark High School Branch
Newark High School's branch of Louviers FCU
reopened for business the week of September 24.
Junior Mark Karpov, one of this year's student tellers,
was working when the high school's mascot dropped
in for a visit.
6th Annual Main Street Mile
LFCU was a sponsor for the 6th Annual Main Street Mile. The run/walk supports
the Newark Police Department, specifically their K9 unit, and the Downtown Newark
Partnership. One hundred percent of all profits are donated to the Newark Police K9
program and the Downtown Newark Partnership. In the first 4 years of this race,
$14,000 was raised and contributed to the training and support of Newark’s police dogs.
The animals require an investment of over $15,000 before they are ready to help protect
our community.
