A Special Place of Hope and Help
Honoring the memory and spirit of a young man, Miles Perret Cancer Services
(MPCS) was established in 2002 to meet the needs of cancer survivors and their
families. It has become a haven for individuals fighting, surviving, and living with
cancer. We are here to provide emotional support, guidance, resources, programs, and
most of all, hope. Our services are comprehensive regardless of age or circumstances.
No appointment is necessary and there are no qualifications. Services are provided at no
charge thanks to the support of our generous community.
One Day of Fun Makes A Real Difference
The first Games of Acadiana (GOA) was held in 2001 with the hope of raising money
to make a difference in the lives of individuals fighting cancer. Today, GOA has become the
largest fundraiser for Miles Perret Cancer Services.
Over 60 Games and Activities in One Place
Featuring over sixty games and activities including Life-Sized Angry Birds, Home Run
Derby and Hula Hoop, this family-centered event appeals to all age groups. Admission is
FREE because of the generous support of individuals and companies like yours.
10,000 Parents And Their Children Attend The Games
And, attendance grows every year. Our sponsors universally agree that the return on their
investment is significant. Over 100 businesses participated last year.
Your Support Helps Us Provide Services
11,000 Local Families Have Been Served
Through the office in Lafayette and our Mobile Miles program, services are extended
to communities throughout our 10-parish service area. Since its inception, MPCS has
served over 11,000 local families. However, the reality of our success is not in numbers
but in lives changed. By taking control of their individual paths to wellness, our clients are
empowered to think of themselves not as cancer patients, but as survivors.
100% of the Funds Raised Stay in Acadiana
All funds raised for MPCS come from sponsorships and donations. These funds allow
us to provide our clients who reside or receive treatment in Acadiana with the nonmedical, interstitial assistance critical to their well-being.

Although Miles lived only eight years, his was a life filled with
curiosity, joy and love. He had an understanding of friendship and
faith far beyond his years, and he left an impression on all who knew
him. When Miles was diagnosed in 1995, his family determined
right away that Miles would have as normal and carefree a life as
possible. Their journey with him provided firsthand experience of
the daily challenges of fighting cancer. Miles Perret Cancer Services
