YEAR 1 2004-5 Comenius objectives
Pupils to research environmental policy

YEAR 1- What we actually did.
Power-point presentations to S1-S4 to introduce the project
Around 100 pupils visited Polmadie reclamation visits (4 visits) and wrote
essays on recycling
Pupils compiled culture boxes for partner schools
Pupils entered art competition for the environmental workbook cover
S1 pupils worked through environmental workbooks in French and English
Pupils compiled information gleaned from websites on European, Scottish and
Glasgow City Council’s environmental policy under 3 main headings: land, air
and water.
Pen-pal exchange set up between pupils in S1, S2 and S4 with France (in
French) and Poland and Sweden (in English)
Pupils produced a video about climate change and were runners up in the
schoolnet competition for European Green Week
We arranged for a recycling officer to come to give a talk to all year groups
Pupils responsible for weekly collection of paper and plastic bottles
Throughout the year pupils collected information on the environment and
displayed on 3 notice boards
Pupils produced a video to introduce themselves to participating schools
Pupils put forward various suggestions for a domain name, they chose”

Litter Strategy by S4 pupils who went to Cyprus. They gave talks to pupil councils S1-S4. Mr
