SOUTHERN TENNESSEE REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM
– LAWRENCEBURG (STRHS – LAWRENCEBURG), has
been serving the residents of southern middle Tennessee for more than 42
years. Delivering quality healthcare close to home is the single most important
contribution we make. But there are many other ways we make a positive

We are committed to ensuring the delivery of needed healthcare to all
members of the community, regardless of their ability to pay. Last year,
STRHS – Lawrenceburg delivered more than $1.5 million in services to
individuals without the ability to pay for their care.
New physicians
During the past year, we added two new physicians to our highly respected
medical staff, including a specialist in cardiology, Dr. Daniel Skarzynski, and
family medicine physician, Dr. John D. Shields.

“Charity and other uncompensated care” includes hospital costs not covered by
Medicaid reimbursements and supplemental payments, as well as charity care and bad
debt. “Physician recruitment costs” include recruitment costs and support of new physicians’
initial practice establishment in the community. Payroll includes consolidated salaries,
wages, benefits and contract labor costs. “Capital investments” include facility expansions/
renovations, equipment purchases, technology replacement, information technology
additions/updates, and routine facility upkeep and maintenance.
