Free CBOE Paper Trading Account
This step by step guide is designed to walk you through the process of
opening a paper options trading account with the Chicago Board of Exchange
(CBOE). This guide is meant for anyone who does not have a current paper
trading account. If you already are registered with a different options trader
then by all means use their own paper trading account. One of the main
reasons that we always recommend that you start off with a paper trading
account is to learn the particular platform that you will be using and this
applies as much to investors with some experience as people new to the
world of Options Trading. Using a paper trading account initially gives you
the confidence to trade without the fear that you will make a costly mistake,
expertise only comes with practise.

hovered around one billion contracts at the end of 2007
The CBOE is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission
It is an ‘options friendly’ exchange with all the tools you will need
We use it for our option trades using our own money
It allow you to open a paper trading account without having to open
a trading account and depositing money
Step 1:
Navigate to
https://www.cboe.com/useradmin/register.aspx?ReturnURL=/tradtool/paper
trademain.aspx in your web browser.

Complete the form and agree to the terms and conditions then select
“Next”
Step 2:

You will now receive an email to confirm and authenticate your account
registration.
(tip: If you can’t find it, look in your spam/junk file)
Once confirmed you will be taken to a log in page on the CBOE website
select “click here” to confirm
Step 3:
• Now you can “Log in” with your new credentials
•
Select “save settings” once you have selected any email alerts you
would like
Step 4:
• Now you have arrived at the CBOE main website. From here you need to
navigate first to “Tools and Resources” and then to the "Virtual
Trading Tool"
Step 5:
• On the left hand side the page you will see the paperTRADE tab
• If you do not see it simple go to
http://www.cboe.com/tradtool/papertrademain.aspx
• Select the "Click Here" to start using paperTRADE now
Step 6:
• The first time you access “paper TRADE” it will ask you to read the
terms and conditions, as always you should read the terms and
conditions and then if you agree select the “I agree “ box and then the
“orange” box at the bottom of the page.
This page only appears the first time you access your paperTRADE
account.
Step 7:

Select "Launch Trading" in the orange box to start the platform
•
At this point we recommend that you bookmark this page for future
use
