The technological leadership of Lanfranchi unscramblers is
based on numerous patents aimed at optimizing product
handling (N.S.T.– No Scuffing Technology) and in meeting
very high production rates with unmatched efficiency. (Lo.
Re.S.T. – Low Relative Speed Technology). Outputs of
up to 72,000 bph (0.5 L) have been reached using just
one unscrambler with zero bottle scuffing. A vast range of
standard machines allows the right solutio to be selected
for all processing needs. While meeting the toughest quality
standards: the best and only “the best” for our Customers.

The current range of Lanfranchi unscrambler is the following:
CLASSIC
this kind of unscrambler is mainly addressed to middle/
big sized bottles for beverages and soft drinks.
COMPACT
the COMPACT series has been realized to handle bottles
with a maximum height of 270mm. Especially suitable for
drink, yoghurt, food, dairy, juice and personal care.
ECO
to answer the questions of the market which needs lowspeed unscramblers, Lanfranchi has realized the ECO
series, suitable for each kind of PET or HDPE bottles.

CLASSIC and COMPACT model
Bottles slide gently on to a fixed stainless steel cone and
are positioned on the circumference of the unscrambler.
From here, bottles are selected by Lifters (Lift Master
patent) that convey them smoothly to the upper part of
the unscrambler. In this way the bottles avoid being rescrambled and knocked about due to the high relative
velocities typical of other technologies.
The fast speed unscramblers carry out this operation
up to 4 times per machine cycle, allowing 4 bottles to
be positioned vertically on the carousel underneath (SR
patent) in the space, which, in the upper part, is normally
occupied by a single bottle lying down.
The efficiency of the unscrambler is further increased by
the bottle extractor systems that remove (normally without
stopping the machine) any damaged bottles that are
conveyed to the unscrambler. Machines are constructed in
stainless steel. Exceptionally high construction standards
guarantee a solid design for continuous three-shift use,
with very little maintenance required.
VACUUM STARWHEEL (PATENT)
This system actually increases the efficiency of the
unscrambler, since it reduces any possibility of a bottle jam,
between the outfeed of the unscrambler to the starwheel
and also between the starwheel transfer to the air conveyor
or to the table-top conveyor. An added advantage is that,
within certain limits, the starwheel need not be substituted
when changing the bottle size to be handled. This new
starwheel runs without any counterguides.

The Lifters, controlled by a mechanical system, ensure
that bottles are smoothly hoisted during the sorting phase,
allowing profiled or unstable bottles to be processed with
zero scuffing.
Loading is repeated on fast machines up to 4 times/cycle.

Lanfranchi unscrambler is also available with special
configurations dictated by the application:
When handling containers with a good shape and weight
(stable when standing up) at low to medium speed the
unscrambler can be manufactured without vacuum
extraction starwheel.
If the application includes lightweight PET bottles Lanfranchi
unscrambler offers two very effective options: the Vacuum
Sliding Plate and the Open Cradle.
The vacuum sliding plate is installed on the upper part
of the funnels and eliminates the increased bouncing of
lightweight bottles; the end result is an unscrambler with
high efficiency and high speed even with lightweight bottles.
The open cradle design allows the automatic removal of
any damaged or deformed bottles from the unscrambler
without production interruption.

ECO model
Lanfranchi has always been known as the world leader for
the production of high speed unscramblers. Recently, in
order to diversify our presence in other sectors, we have
realized a series of compact machines for low and medium
speeds and with low prices, but able to guarantee the
same level of efficiency and technical quality of high speed
machines. The new series is called ECO-S (machine
diameter 800 mm) and ECO-M (machine diameter 1400
mm).
All parts in contact with the product are made of stainless
steel, we favoured the possibility to see and acceed to
the various parts of the machine, change over process is
easy to do, overall dimensions are reduced, main motor is
always controlled by the frequency inverter, together with
the motors of the elevator and the outlet table-top conveyor,
to allow a careful regulation of its functioning.
At the moment, the ECO series is supplied with two different
preparations for the electrical part: one with Siemens
World Wide and the other with Allen Bradley, for the North
American market.
The new ECO has the following features:
• it is strong and with low maintenance costs
• it is easily adaptable and allows quick change over
operations
• it is completely built in inox or PE for food for parts in
contact with the product
• it is compact and easy to clean
• it allows the maximum visibility of the bottle
• automatic extraction of faulty bottles
