Our students in Grs. 6 and 8 went to Bethesda House. The students did not have direct
contact with the people served at Bethesda
House. However, there was a request for
the students to help the staff get the facility
ready for an inspection. Students spent
time cleaning out the garage, organizing the
pantry, cleaning the kitchen and sprucing up
the grounds.
The
students did a
great
job
and the staff
was
most
appreciative
of the time
ICS students spent at Bethesda House.
On March 15th , the students in Grades
3-5 visited The Springs to entertain the
residents. The students sang songs and
gave holiday cards to the residents.
The people at The Springs enjoyed visiting with the students. An e-mail was
sent to the teachers and students. This
sums up how great our students were.
“On behalf of all the staff and residents,
I want to thank you, Mrs. Givens, the
teachers and students in Grades 3, 4
and 5 for sharing their time and talents
with us. Their performance was spectacular and behavior outstanding!

Our Mother’s House is another outreach center that ICS students will visit. Our 7th graders will spend a few hours at Our
Mother’s House on Tuesday, March 22 helping with the younger children. When we called about coming, the staff was so
excited to have ICS volunteer their time to help at the center.
For the 2016-17 school year, we plan to organize quarterly
events to help organization in the area. The experience that
the students have is something they will never forget!

April 8 - Family Movie Night @ ICS Parish Center
These are great ways to support the school
and socialize with members of our parish/
school community.
Words cannot express our
deepest appreciation to the
families, ICS students and
CMHS students, ICS students
who helped at our Fish Fry these past few weeks. Your
smiles while serving our guests, keeping our desserts organized, cleaning up at the end and so much more made our
first FISH FRY a great success.
From our guests, we heard many compliments about how
friendly the students were, how they visited with the
guests and were very helpful.
Thank you to all those who donated desserts to make our
Fish Fry successful!
It Was a Seussical Day on March 10th!
Thank you to our special Librarian for the Day, Zach R., for proclaiming March 10th at
Seussical Day at ICS. The students and teachers enjoyed dressing as their favorite Dr.
Seuss character. At ICS you could find many Thing 1 and Thing 2, the Lorax, Horton,
and Cat in the Hat. Others donned strips, polka-dots and more to be in the Seussical
Spirit!
π Day and Other Math Activities at ICS
Students in 2nd Grade used
their creative skills to develop
mazes with Unifix cubes. The
challenge of the maze was to
develop pattern that a marble
could be moved by blowing
through a straw -forces of wind.
The teams were timed on moving the marble from start to finish. After a few trials, the students found that they needed to
redesign the maze.
Our 5th-8th graders spent math
class on 3.14 doing Pi activities
for Pi Day. There were a variety
of activities working with circles,
circumference, diameter and
more. Oh, it would not be Pi
Day without having some PIE cherry, blueberry, etc!
