Called to order by: Klause Seeger 7:00 PM
Welcome and recognize visitors -- None
Changes to last month’s meeting minutes: Or move to accept if no
changes: -- None
Officer’s Reports:
Vice President Report: by Klaus Seeger
Klaus discussed the resignation of Mike Doyle as Club
President.
A discussion of the membership of the nominating committee
for the nomination of club officers for the 2008-2009 year
followed.
Howard Harper, Kay Harrison and Jim Green volunteered to
server on the nominating committee and were confirmed by a
voice vote.
Unfinished Business from previous meeting(s):
None, other than the nominating committee outlined above.
New Business:
Beverly Ruffin discussed the Club’s purchase of a digital
projector from the proceeds of the sale of Mark Flato’s RS,
generously donated to the club by Marks’s brother, Frank
Flato.
The bike was parted-out and sold for the club by
Mike Murphy.
Beverly also discussed using the services of the “Sherpa”
at the recent MOA Rally. The services include the use of a
spacious tent, pre-setup when you arrive at the rally, a
large air mattress, an ice chest w/ice and gourmet coffee
served in the mornings. Cost is $100.00 for the rally. A
very good deal according to Beverly, especially considering
you don’t have to lug all of your camping equipment with
you.
Be sure to contact the Sherpa at http://
www.sherpamayberry.com/ to reserve services and for a list
of rallies at which the services will be available.
Jim Green and Klaus Seeger discussed the 2008 BMOA rally
which will be held on July 19-22, 2008 in Gillette, Wyoming.
Charles R. Storer was awarded the first annual Saint Jude’s
award for the “lost cause” of sticking with his wonderful
1971 R/75.
Mr. Storer was informed, when he complained
about the misspelling of his name on the award, that it
really didn’t make any difference, as he was a lost cause
any way.
Finally, Floyd Crow’s Sunday ride on August 25 in “ON”.
Check the Club’s website for details.
New Members:
Name: Sergio Weitzman of Houston and William Crawford of Sugar
Land were voted in as new members. Both Sergio and William ride K1200GTs. Looks like sport touring in “IN”.
50/50 Drawing won by: ?????? (didn’t get this down)
Adjourned at:
8:00 by Klaus Seeger
We need volunteers to help with our annual rally.
Whether you’re attending or not, you can participate. Please contact Klaus Seeger, Floyd Crow or
Beverly Ruffin and let one of us know what you
will do.
Don’t make us have to call you!

Long-time club member, Bill Corrow loves his newest ride—an
’07 K1200 GT. “Gobs of power and oh so smooth.” He and
his wife, Nancy moved to Sarasota, Florida after he retired last
December. He’s joined the local BMW Group, the Florida Sunbeemers but misses his friends in the Houston club. He’s looking forward to seeing everyone at the annual rally in October.
