game of bowling. Please contact either your caseworker or Cathy if you have not received you pass. Along with the pass, you will
receive a list of the locations that presently accept these cards.

and beyond, providing us with gifts and food. If you are in need of a Christmas basket, please feel free to contact Cathy.

CIBC Scholarship—prep reminder:
Every February, grade 10 students (matched kids only) are eligible to apply for a CIBC scholarship. The appilcations should be available sometime
in November and would be due around the end of January. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage grade 10 students involved in a mentoring program to pursue postsecondary education. This scholarship is valued up to $38,000.00. Applicants are selected based on: community
involvement and extra-curricular activities (part-time jobs, volunteer activities, involvement in sports, clubs, family responsibilities), academic potential and individual needs and aspirations. Even if you are not in grade 10 yet, you can still participate in as many activities as you can so that
you can one day be eligible.
“Win a Tablet” Contest
We are holding a contest for kids to win one of two tablets. You need to write an essay of 250 words about what you like about having a Big Brother/Sister or why you would like to have one. The deadline to hand in the essay is Friday, November 27th. You may either e-mail it or send it by

our annual Christmas party on December 5th.

RE-CAP (JULY, AUGUST SEPTEMBER 2015)
JULY
Canada Day Parade in Pierrefonds
BBBS took part in the city of Pierrefonds Canada Day parade. Despite the rain, we had an awesome time. A couple of our Littles showed up, along
with mom and a Big Brother, to walk with us—thank you for coming out!
Meet &Greet
The July Meet & Greet was held at the Black Lion Pub in Beaconsfield. Thank you to those who joined us.
July Activity - Alouettes Football Game
BBBS cheered on the Alouettes football team Friday, July 3rd at the Molson Percival Stadium. The game was great
and we are very thankful to the Alouettes for donating these tickets to us!
Bike Donations The employees at Covidien and Medtronic left us speechless after not only donating so many
beautiful, brand new bikes for our kids but also taking the time to actually assemble the bikes themselves and add a
personal note to each child, signed by the “builders” of the bike! These events took place on June 11th and 12th. The
children were so happy!
Old Navy
On July 31st, Old Navy once again invited a few teens for a job shadowing day at their store. The teens were taught how to dress up the
manniquins, fold clothes, operate the cash, among other things! We would like to say a big THANK YOU to Old Navy for this opportunity!
AUGUST
Baie D’Urfé Vintage Vehicle Expo 2015 - On August 2nd, BBBS participated in this
exceptional event. We gratefully accepted a generous donation of $750 from the Sauvetage Baie D’Urfé.
August Activity—We had suggested that matches/kids in waiting attend our big Ribfest
fundraiser. Many of you showed up over the course of the weekend, it was great to see you!!
Ribfest 2015
What a huge success! Thanks to all who came out to have some amazing ribs and support us. We raised
$30,000 to continue our programs!! We are already planning for Ribfest 2016. Hope to see you next year!
SEPTEMBER
September 3rd: Alouettes game
The folks from the Alouettes are always thinking of us!
They have been outstanding lately and have been donating tickets for so many games!
Alouettes—Sept. 20th Yet another great football game at the Molson Stadium!
Sept. activity: VRRA (Vintage Road Race Association)
BBBS spent an afternoon watching bike races and touring the pit. We had a really nice tour of the
motorcycle pit by racer and organizer Dominic. He was extremely knowledgeable and kindly introduced
us to some drivers and let the kids sit on some bikes!
Fran on Montreal Billboard on MAtv for an interview
Our director Francesca recently did an interview on MAtv! It aired on September 22nd. Here is the link to watch it:

Annual Centraide Umbrella Walk - September 29th. Some of our staff walked in this enormous parade downtown to
support Centraide, who each year, supports BBBSWI. Without Centraide, we could not exist!
