Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC Raises More Than
USD 143,000 for Cancer Research at Its 16th Annual Drive
Four the Cure Golf Classic

In continued efforts to raise money and awareness for cancer research, Four Seasons Hotel Washington,
DC hosted its 16th annual Drive Four the Cure Golf Classic at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm on Monday,
June 27, 2016. Nike golf shirts, swag bags and breakfast greeted the 100 golfers who participated in the
friendly day of competition. Thanks to the generous donors and participating golfers, Four Seasons was
able to raise more than USD 143,000 in donations for the Washington Cancer Institute (WCI) at MedStar
Washington Hospital Center.
Throughout the day, players enjoyed a host of food and beverage options including a raw bar, a sushi
station, roast beef, a tequila cart, specialty cocktails by Beam Suntory and whiskey tasting. The event was

catered by TPC Potomac. Ending the 18-hole tournament was an afternoon reception of live music, 80 silent
auction items and lavish awards.
The winning foursome of the Jack Rose Dining Saloon was awarded with one round-trip ticket for each
player on United Airlines along with a two-night stay for two with breakfast at one of the following Four
Seasons hotels and resorts: Dallas, Santa Fe, Vail or Westlake Village, California. Second place received
Zegna made-to-measure shirts and ties, and third place winners received Nike Gold Bags. Prizes were also
awarded to the man and woman who came closest to the pin and shot longest drive. Last place finishers
were awarded a wine tasting for two at ENO Wine Bar. All players could participate in a putting contest that
awarded winners with a brunch for two in Seasons Restaurant.
Since 2001, Four Seasons partnership with MedStar Washington Hospital Center and has raised more
than USD 1 million in donations for cancer research. According to the American Cancer Association, about
1,685,210 new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in 2016. The District of Columbia has one of
the highest cancer mortality rates in the United States, and Washington Cancer Institute at the MedStar
Washington Hospital treats more cancer patients than any other program in the nation’s capital. In 2015, the
Drive Four the Cure Classic was able to contribute to 68,853 outpatient cancer treatments at Washington
Cancer Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center thanks to the money raised by the annual golf
tournament.
