THE FIRST CASES OF AIDS were reported in June 1981. Since then,
more than 1.8 million Americans have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS,
including 658,000 who have died and 1.2 million living with HIV today.
IN THE UNITED STATES, nearly 50,000 people are newly diagnosed
with HIV each year. One in seven do not know that they are HIV-positive.
IN MINNESOTA, there were 7,988 individuals identified as living with
HIV/AIDS at the end of 2014, including 307 new cases.

of service in 2014.
The Independent Sector estimates that an average volunteer’s labor
is worth $24.83 per hour. Based on this, the value of our volunteers’
work was $1,005,615!
We would have to increase our annual budget by 71% or hire
19 full-time staff to do the work of these dedicated individuals,
community organizations and workplace groups.

takes place on Thanksgiving Day
morning at the Mall of America
and benefits 15 hunger-fighting
organizations. Last year, the Walk
collected $310,000 in donations
from walkers and sponsors.
OUR CHARITABLE
GAMING PROGRAM
sells pull-tabs and conducts
bingo in several local bars.
During 2014, this program
donated $61,000 for our programs
