1½ yards cream main (C2960 Cream)
¼ yard blue bikini (C2961 Blue)
¾ yard red bikini (C2961 Red)
¼ yard yellow bikini (C2961 Yellow)
1/8 yard blue swim trunks (C2962 Blue)
¼ yard gray swim trunks (C2962 Gray)
½ yard red swim trunks (C2962 Red)
¼ yard cream beach chair (C2963 Cream)
¼ yard gray beach chair (C2963 Gray)
¼ yard blue sandcastle (C2964 Blue)
1/8 yard red sandcastle (C2964 Red)
½ yard yellow sandcastle (C2964 Yellow)
½ yard blue dot (C2966 Blue)
¼ yard gray dot (C2966 Gray)

CUTTING REQUIREMENTS
Please read instructions first before cutting. Seam allowances vary so
measure through the center of the quilt before cutting border pieces.
Star Block
Cut 24 squares 3½” x 3½” from off white solid
Cut 1 square 3½” x 3½” from the following assorted prints:
gray beach chair, blue swim trunks, cream beach chair
blue dot, red sandcastle, gray swim trunks
Cut squares 4¼” x 4¼” in the corresponding number from the following
assorted prints:
2–gray swim trunks, 2–blue bikini, 2–yellow bikini
3–blue sandcastle, 2–red bikini, 3–gray dot
1–yellow sandcastle, 1–cream beach chair, 1–red dot
1–gray beach chair, 6–off white solid
Cut each square twice diagonally to create 4 triangles per square.
Chain Block
Cut 4 strips 2¾” x WOF from yellow sandcastle
Cut 4 strips 2¾” x WOF from blue dot
Cut 2 strips 5” x WOF from off white solid
Cut 28 rectangles 2¾” x 5” from off white solid
Star Block
These instructions are to make 1 block. Refer to quilt photo for fabric
placement as each star is a different combination of fabrics. Each block
has 8 triangles from one assorted print, 4 triangles from a second
assorted print, and 4 off white solid triangles. Sew an assorted print
triangle from the set of 8 and an off white solid triangle together to
create Unit 1. Sew an assorted print triangle from the set of 8 and an
assorted print triangle from the set of 4 together to create Unit 2. Sew
Unit 1 and Unit 2 together to create a Quarter Square Triangle Unit.
Repeat to make 4 Quarter Square Triangle Units.

Referring to block diagram for fabric placement, sew 4 off white solid
3½” squares, 4 Quarter Triangle Square Units, and 1 assorted print 3½”
square together to create the Star Block. Repeat to make 6 Star Blocks.

Chain Block
Sew a 2¾” blue dot strip and a 2¾” yellow sandcastle strip together.
Press. Repeat with another blue dot strip and yellow sandcastle strip.
Cut the strips into 2¾” segments. Sew the segments together to create
14 Four-Patch Units.
Sew a 2¾” blue dot strip, a 5” off white solid strip, and a 2¾” yellow
sandcastle strip together. Press. Repeat with another blue dot strip,
off white solid strip, and yellow sandcastle strip. Cut the strips into 2¾”
segments to create 28 Unit 3’s.
Referring to quilt photo for placement of fabrics, sew together 1 FourPatch Unit, 2 off white solid 2¾” x 5” rectangles, and 2 Unit 3’s to create
the Chain Block. Repeat to make 14 Chain Blocks.

Quilt Center Assembly
Refer to quilt photo for placement of Star Blocks and Chain Blocks. Lay
out blocks in 5 rows of 4 blocks. Sew rows together to complete the
center of the quilt.
Borders
Seam allowances vary so measure through the center of the quilt before
cutting border pieces. Sew side borders first.
Border 1
Side borders should be 45½”. Top and bottom borders should be 38½”.
Border 1
Cut 5 strips 1½” x WOF from red dot
Border 2
Side borders should be 47½”. Top and bottom borders should be 44½”.
Border 2
Cut 5 strips 3½” x WOF from red bikini
Border 3
Side borders should be 53½”. Top and bottom borders should be 46½”.
Border 3
Cut 5 strips 1½” x WOF from red swim trunks
Border 4
Side borders should be 55½”. Top and bottom borders should be 56½”.
Border 4
Cut 6 strips 5½” x WOF from cream main
Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with your
favorite Riley Blake fabric from the Seaside Collection. Have fun with
your colors and enjoy the journey of making your quilt.
