Shandy Newton is this week’s senior of the week. Shandy has been a big part of CGB schools in the
years that she has been here by participating in the musicals, Speech, Show Choir and One Acts. When
Shandy was younger she was home schooled; she joined CGB in the second grade and then returned again
in the eighth grade.

McFarland, USA
By: Hannah Breeggemann
In this critically acclaimed new movie being released tomorrow, the new track coach, Jim White, comes
to a Latino high school in California’s Central Valley.
Coach White and his new students figure out they need
to learn more about one another, and when Coach White
realizes how much talent his kids have, things begin to
change.
His students have more than just physical talent,
they have strong family support,
an incredible work ethic and
commitment to their team.
These kids aren’t just winners,
they are champions!
If you are a track runner, it could give you a little bit
more boost of energy! McFarland, USA is an inspiration to
all track and cross country runners and I would highly recommend you go and watch it!

Girls Sports Summary
Boys Sports Summary
By: Callie Kipp
This week the girls basketball
team traveled to Hillcrest on February 17.
They played their hearts out and gladly
won 66-57! Next week the girls travel to
Wheaton to play on Tuesday. They are
working hard in practice, improving their
skills and plays. Good job ladies and good luck next
week.
Valentines Day, the gymnastic
girls went to New London Spicer to compete at sections. The girls did well, but
sadly didn't come out with a win. They
ended their season with one win and
nine losses as a team, but with quite a few
individual titles. Good job ladies.
On March 9, the softball girls start pitcher and
catcher practice. The girls are pretty excited to start
and will probably be able to be on the field soon since
with the lack of snow! Good luck on the Season!
