CGB Track and Field’s New Coach
By: Morgan Nordly
Zeke Johnson is the new Assistant Track Coach for the 2015 season. He is
originally from Arkansas, and received a football scholarship to Arkansas
Tech. He joined the Marines one semester into college. Zeke has been deployed three
times and received a NAM award during his last deployment. He is no longer in the
Marines due to medical reasons, following a nine year career! Coach Johnson is very
excited to see what this season will bring working with the CGB Tracksters and Coach
Farwell!
Construction Builds New Garage in Graceville
By: Collin Kellen
Mr. Daniel’s Construction class has been slaving away seventh hour, building a
28ft x 40ft, two-stall garage for Steve Jipson. It will be insulated and sheet-rocked on the
inside when they are finished. The students have built the garage from the ground up
and are at about the halfway point with all the framework done. They are now getting
ready to install the doors. After that, they will put on house wrap and work on the inside, installing wires and insulation (maybe they can finally be warm out there for once).
They hope to have the garage finished before
summer with some hard work, dedication, and even Saturday work! Mr. Daniels is supervising students as they
learn more about construction and what it takes to build
something out of nothing.
Skid Marks, Personals and Proposals!
By: Kendra Gilsdorf
One Acts are on March 15 at 2 p.m. with two comedies: Skid Marks: A Play About Driving and
Personals and Proposals (an all senior show), including Rachael, Mikki, Alyssa, Shandy, Gina, Jamie, Bobby, Paul, Matt and Tanner. Skid Marks: A Play About Driving
includes Jordan, Morgan, Jada, Tori, Julianne, Jessaline, Erick, Rachael, Paul and
Matt. This year, Mrs. Ragan is even performing along with them, as well as directing!
Personals and Proposals is a play about proposals and how they don’t always
work out. It includes seven hilarious scenes about dating and marriage proposals. Skid
Marks is a comedy about different driving situations most of us can identify with: road
rage, irritated parents and so on. All the cast members hope you can come out and
support the show and enjoy some delicious desserts provided by the teachers.

Senior Of The Week
By: Jacey Douglas
The senior of the week is Joey Klodt! Joey is known for being absolutely hilarious, but also being a bit
obnoxious at times. Joey participates in track and field and used to be in band. He plans on going to the Air
Force and following his family tradition like his dad and four brothers.
I am best known for: My plans to go into the Air Force
One of my favorite high school memories was: Creepin’ on some teachers
Being a senior finally makes me feel: Like I’m better than everyone else
I will miss: Bugging the teachers
I won’t miss: Some people
What are your plans after high school: Going into the Air Force
Page 2
My advice for the underclassmen is: Bug the teachers! JK

Fast & Furious 7
By: Dalton Nilson
Look forward to April 3, for Fast & Furious 7,
the sequel to Fast & Furious 6 , that came out in 2013.
It stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson
and is the first film to take place afterTokyo Drift.
It marks the final film appearance of Paul
Walker, who died in 2013. The filming was only half
completed when he died, but his brothers Caleb and
Cody Walker acted as stand-ins to complete the rest of
the movie.
Fast & Furious 7 is set in the United States
where Dominic Toretto and the crew try to live normal
lives once again after defeating Owen Shaw, whose
brother, Ian, is seeking revenge for his brother’s death.

The 2015 girls basketball season has officially
come to an end. The girls played their last game
against Hancock on Monday. They put up a tough
fight, but couldn't quite keep up with Hancock’s aggressive defense and quick offense. Senior, Rachael
Kellen says “I will miss it a lot, and good luck to next
year’s team!”
Softball practice will start Tuesday for all of the
pitchers and catchers, so if you have any interest in
either of those positions, please show up. There is a
lot to learn! Practice for all softball players will start
March 16 in the gym.
Track practice starts on
Monday for both boys and girls.
As Mr. Farwell would say, “Start
building your base!” Good luck
to both the track and softball
teams in their upcoming seasons!
Three Border West Bucs were sent to the Xcel
Energy Center for the State Wrestling Tournament on
February 26, 27 and 28. The three individuals were
Tracer Lee, Kaden Spindler, and Cameron Sykora.
Tracer, a junior, wrestled at 132 lbs. and lost
both of his matches. Kaden, a freshman, wrestled at
113 lbs. He won his first match and lost his next two.
The final Border West wrestler Cameron Sykora, had a
very successful tournament. He’s a senior and wrestled
at 126 lbs. and won all four of his matches, earning his
fifth state title. Great job Tracer, Kaden and Cameron!

Did you know the lack of self-esteem is a
big problem? About 80% of first graders enter
school with a high self-esteem
rate, but by the time they are at
the fifth grade level, that drops
down to about 20%. Amazingly,
when they finish high school, the
number of children having positive self-esteem has dropped to a depressing 5%!
Mr. Haggerty will
be conducting a three-day
unit on self-esteem with
grades seven through ten
coming up shortly. He is
looking forward to making
a big difference during his short time here by raising the self-esteem levels at CGB.
Get a baby picture, parent letter, and a digital & printed copy of your senior picture to
the Yearbook Class immediately, please!
Also, the Yearbook staff needs your
“Remember When” photos of group birthday
parties, teams and any other fun pictures
from the past along with more current
“Look at Us Now” photos!
Finally, seniors will meet with Jostens
tomorrow to discuss graduation orders.
