REPORT: INTER-SCHOOL EVENT FUTURE FORWARD III
DPS Dubai, once again put yet another feather in its cap by hosting Future Forward III,
a multidisciplinary mega event by the Primary wing.
Our Objective:
The aim was to empower students to be innovative thinkers, confident speakers
and creative performers who meet high standards of excellence across a diverse
spectrum of disciplines.
It is rightly said that creativity and action gives rise to innovation. Our Principal,
Ms. Rashmi Nandkeolyar was the fuel behind the creation of ideas for this mega event.
Each event was carefully designed and many creative minds were responsible for the final
product.
This forum comprised of four events:
DPS Dubai Symposium, SCIMA Quiz, Rhyme and Rhythmus and Arabesque and was open
to students of Grades III to V.
The morning of 5 June 2016 was buzzing with registration by the participating schools at
the Multipurpose Hall as all the event heads checked the final preparations at their
respective venues. Participants of the schools along with their teachers were given a warm
welcome at the reception and were guided by the student council members to the respective
venues. Judges for the different events were welcomed and were guided to the Judges’ room
before being taken to the venues.
THE DPS DUBAI SYMPOSIUM
Venue: KG Activity Room
The Symposium took off with great style! It was a platform, for students to speak and learn
from each other. The main topic was ‘The Quintessential Matter - Water’. There were
six teams comprising of two members each. The students showcased their public speaking
skills with panache. They truly enthralled the audience with their articulate enunciation.
Following this, there was an open ended rebuttal round. Here the students prepared a
question based on the content delivered by the corresponding participant. It was a
stimulating session, where the students put on their thinking caps and responded to the
questions posed by their counterparts.
The esteemed judges for the event were Mr. Suhas Inamdar and Ms. Nidhi Sharma. The

All the participants spoke well but DPS Dubai emerged as winners. They bagged the prizes
for the Best Orator and Best Insight of the topic. The first runners up were secured by DPS
Sharjah and the second runners up were students from DPS Academy. The overall
championship for the symposium was lifted by DPS Dubai.
THE SCIMA QUIZ
Venue: Multipurpose Hall
SCIMA is the skillful blending of Science and Mathematics. The theme was “Conservation
of Water”, in which the student teams had to tackle questions on environment through a
spatial round, a puzzle round and a problem solving round.
The esteemed judges for the event were Mr. DePaul and Ms. Anu Swamy. The participating
schools were –

It was indeed a very challenging quiz. Students of DPS Dubai emerged as the Winners
followed by DPS Academy as the First Runners up and Credence High School as the
Second Runners up.
RHYME AND RHYTHMUS
Venue: Sandeep Hall
Rhyme and Rhythmus was a unique competition that aesthetically blended rhyme and
rhythm. The competition provided a platform for teams to showcase the finer nuances of
poetry and the intricacies of dance to create a fusion of captivating dance beautifully
synchronized with poetry recitation. The performance conveyed the vivid imagery present
in the poem that was being recited.
It was through the charm and grace of dance that homage was paid to the poet which
intensified the poetic experience.
The esteemed judges for the event were Ms. Vrinda Bhandula and Ms. Sudhakshina
Shivkumar. The participating schools were –

The participating schools enthralled the audience with their foot tapping music, creative
choreography and colorful costumes to depict their expressions.
Students of DPS Dubai emerged as the Winners. They danced to the recital of the poem
‘Coromandel Fishers’ by Sarojini Naidu. The First Runners up were DPS Sharjah. Indian
High School were declared the Second Runners up where they danced to the recital of the
poem ‘Genga A Cry’, a poem by Aabha Vatsa Midha.
ARABESQUE
Venue: Conference Room
This was a collaborative and aesthetic event that invited students to highlight the beauty of
the past, the modernity of the present and the futuristic vision of UAE.
Students had to create models of UAE’s ancient past and contrast it to the present day form
using three dimensional models. The teams had to bring their own recyclable materials to
create the models.
The esteemed judges for the event were Ms. Mrinmay Sebastian and Ms. Ritwika
Chaudhuri. The participating schools were –

Students of DPS Dubai emerged as the Winners with their creative presentation on
‘Bedouin tents to present day skyscrapers’. The First Runners up were DPS Sharjah. The
Emirates English Speaking School were declared the Second Runners Up.
The Closing Ceremony
To conclude, all participating schools congregated at the Sandeep Hall. This was followed
by a word of reflection by the students from different participating schools. This cemented
the bonds of friendship among the student fraternity that had been fostered throughout the
day.
The event was graced by our Principal and Director Ms. Rashmi Nandkeolyar who
applauded the effort, creativity and innovation of all participating students. The
Headmistresses of the Primary Wing and the Senior Headmistress were present to witness
the grand finale.
The student participants from across UAE showered praise on DPS Dubai for their warm
hospitality, beautiful infrastructure and fair judgment.
The Overall Results are as follows:
The Overall Championship was won by Delhi Private School, Dubai, but as the
host school the Overall Championship Trophy was handed over to the First
Runner up School, DPS Academy. The First Runner up Prize was given to DPS
Sharjah.
