Directors’ Notes
FORD
It is with great pleasure that I took on Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park for the
Swamp Fox Players 2012 season premiere. Across the country we are seeing a
resurgence of classic theatre and playwrights such as Neil Simon and Tennessee Williams; plays that spoke of a particular time period and what was on our
minds and a nation and/or a culture. Many of you today may remember, with
a smile, when and where you first saw Barefoot in the Park and how much (or
how little) things have changed over the past forty years. Please help us welcome
newcomers, Stephanie and Vince (playing Corie and Paul) to our stage this evening. Even though this production takes place in New York City, we ask that you
excuse our southern accents and, with tongue in cheek, think of it as a Barefoot
in Piedmont Park.

Who’s Who
Stephanie Finney Eldridge [Corie Bratter] at the encouragement of her mother
Jackie Hoelscher, Stephanie auditioned for the part of Corie after a 20-year hiatus from the theater. She is excited to be back on stage and very thankful that her
husband, Chris, and daughter, Maggie, have been so encouraging and understanding about her time spent in rehearsals.Stephanie has lived in Georgetown
for 10 years and, like the character she is playing, is a very in-love newlywed.
Stephanie works for Watermark Realty and enjoys volunteering for the Saint
Frances Animal Shelter and fixing up old houses (provided the ARB approves,
of course).

Our season ticket prices have not increased in several years. There are several advantages
to having a season ticket. One advantage is each ticket is $12.50 and the second is you
receive a notice of the upcoming play three (3) weeks prior to opening. Remember by
making your reservation in a timely manner we are better able to seat you in the area
you desire. Reservations are taken in the order in which they are received.
