Unit 7, Lesson 2: Jesus Is Born!
Bible Truth: God sent good news.
Memory Verse: [God] loved us and sent his Son.
1 John 4:10
Scripture Reference: Luke 2:1–7
Bedtime Prayer:
Thank you, God, as this day ends,
For my family and my friends.
Taking time to sit and pray,
Thank you, God, for this great day.
Bible Story: This week, take the lead in teaching
your preschooler about the birth of Jesus. Read Luke
2:1–7 before telling the story to your child from a
preschool Bible. Mary and Joseph traveled from
Nazareth to Bethlehem to register for the census.
When they arrived, there were no more rooms
available for them to sleep in. But it was time for
baby Jesus to be born! They went to a stable, and
Jesus was born that night. They wrapped him in
cloths and laid him in a manger.
Family Activity:
“God’s Gift to My Family”
Cut leaf shapes from construction paper. Help your
child make a tree trunk and branches on a large
piece of paper (like butcher paper). Talk about all of
your family members, including extended family.
Write the names of each member on the leaf shapes,
then glue them to the branches. Discuss how God
sent his Son, Jesus, for each person in your family.
During the week, pray together for your family
members.
