Louisburg Recital PACKET - Miami County Dance Movement

THE JUNGLE BOOK – MIAMI COUNTY DANCE MOVEMENT ANNUAL RECITAL 2016
Hello Family,
Our Annual Recital will be here before you know it! This year has been wonderful and I thank you so much for all your
support, time, and giving your children this opportunity. Performing on stage is so vital to a students’ growth. Final details are being
put on both, Costumes and dances. I can't wait for the kids to show you all their hard work! The theme this year is The Jungle Book!
It is a spinoff of concepts, characters, and location from the original story. Below will be some helpful info going into the show.
LOUISBURG STUDIO DANCERS ONLY
ALL LOCATED AT LOUISBURG HIGH SCHOOL
Dress Rehearsal & Pictures - Thursday, June 2nd @ 5pm (arrive at 4:50, OR 1 hr. before stage time if past 6pm)
Show - Saturday, June 4th @ 2pm (Doors open 1:15pm)
Hair and Makeup, Shoes, tights Costume instructions are in costume books (lobby/studio B). Please make sure you do their hair
completely for dress rehearsal, so you’ll be ready for any difficulty on the day of the show. Ballet Bun video & make up sent to email.
Tights If you have not purchased your own already, please fill out included form with size and put in payment box with fee. I have
some to buy at the studio for $8. You may also purchase on your own, just make sure they are the correct color. Not all classes have
tights, each are specified with costume details.
Recital Admission You may invite as many people as you want with no admission fee! Feel free to cheer them on! MCDM will be
collecting donations for WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT again. We had great success donating last year and love the work they do.
Any amount will be appreciated, but is not required. CASH ONLY PLEASE.
Dress Rehearsal *NEW POLICY THIS SEASON FOR ARRIVAL TIMES* If your rehearsal time is before 6pm, please arrive at 4:50. If your
rehearsal time is AFTER 6PM, please arrive at least 1 hour before scheduled time. Come dressed and ready to perform! They will
perform their dance TWICE for dress rehearsal. Please do hair and makeup so you can practice this before the recital and be ready
for pictures. After your child dances I would like them to take a group photo OR individual, details will be posted. Then they are free
to leave or stay and watch the rest of the dress rehearsal because this will be the only chance for them to watch the full show (unless
you get DVD). On recital day everyone will need to stay in their rooms the whole time. It is too distracting for kids to go in and out
during the show, and it's not respectful to the dancers on stage.
Recital Day Please arrive by 1:30pm! Take your child directly to their assigned room behind stage, which will be posted on the doors
of the band, choir, and teen dressing rooms (bathroom/quick change room). I have placed at least 3 dances between quick changes.
Flowers Single roses ($5) and small bouquets ($10) will be offered again to purchase ON day of recital in front Lobby. Cash only please.

Pictures Muffet Petrehn will be doing the group and individual photos again this year! You may check out her beautiful work at
www.muffetpetrehn.com. She has done pictures in the past for The Dance Studio/MCDM and was recommended by many. Take
notice of a new package this season on order form. We strongly urge everyone to have them filled out before dress rehearsal to
make everything more prepared and speedy. They will also be available at Dress Rehearsal. We are constantly working to make
pictures go as smooth as possible. No parents are aloud in the photo room, it is too distracting for the kids and for the photographer.
Ages 3, 4, & 5 dancers may sign up for an early INDIVIDUAL ONLY picture time (30 minutes before Dress Rehearsal starts) by emailing
Miss Lacy. Limited to 10-12 students.
DVD/Video DVD video was wonderful last year; Nick Schale will be returning. Check out his wonderful work @ www.NickSchale.com.
No personal video/phone recording is permitted during the Recital, please ENJOY the show! This is a distraction to the audience
around you and the dancers. Order forms are in this packet and must be turned in by Dress Rehearsal. High quality and SAME PRICE,
$35!! (Blue Ray also available)
There is no Dance class the week of dress rehearsal and recital, May 30th-June 3rd. LAST CLASS IS MAY 27th. Of course, please
always email or call if you have questions. The students are excited and it will be a great show! Thank you so much for your continued

**FLOWERS** (This is NOT the order form)
Small Bouquets and Roses will be available to purchase in the High School lobby from In Bloom of Louisburg again this year at
Recital. This is NOT A REQUIREMENT, but the kids love being showered at the end of a performance. This note is ONLY to get an
estimate of how many flowers Jessica will need to have available on the day of. To clarify, this is NOT your "order", but just to
make sure she has enough if you already know you want to purchase. Hopefully, this will make less running around for you the day
of the show!
