Yes, We Can and Yes, We Did!
Since becoming president, one of the biggest concerns I have heard about has been that we need more workers.
This past week, we held our first job fair partnering with CareerSource of SWFL. Twelve companies participated in
the Job Fair, and over 30 jobs were posted. Within a few days, we know two people have already started their new
careers, and each person who participated found at least one potential person for a position in their company.
As your president, I have committed myself to listening to your needs, and doing what I can to help you and your
business. This is one hurdle we have overcome, and we will take on any opportunities the building industry faces
and continue on with a can do attitude.
If you still have any openings in your company and would like to review the employee applications from those who
came to the job fair, please call the CDBIA Office and make an appointment to view the applications.
This year has been off to a fun start, and it has been so rewarding to hear your comments about how much you are
enjoying the membership meetings. Many members who haven’t been to a gmm in awhile are coming back– and
having a blast! We are bringing fun back to this organization. Look forward to even more fun on May 6th at the next
general membership meeting. Hope to see you there!

One of the many benefits of being a member of the Charlotte-DeSoto
Building Industry Association is you are eligible to take advantage the
Member Rebate Program, which allows you to get rebates on products,
some or all that you are already purchasing.
The process is simple all you have to do is register your business and
purchase the products that offer a rebate. If you do not already receive a rebate from a specific manufacturer you
are eligible to receive a rebate here just like the national and regional builders. A simple form is filled out for each
project by a specific date for each quarter and you receive a check about 5 months later. This is also a great way
to grow our association. You only qualify for this rebate if you are a member of your local Builders Association. So
share this information with any builder friends you have that are not a member of the CDBIA and earn some spike
points! May is double spike month and we are offering some great rewards for spikes in May! Tell your business
associates about this program. We are leaving money on the table people!!! You can register at
