Recruiting new members for the Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association is an activity recognized and rewarded through the
Spike Club. Those who participate are called Spikes, and they are among the most valued members of the association. Spikes are the
membership leaders of our federation, building the voice, power and influence on every level, in every state.
Member-to-member recruitment and retention efforts are the largest source of growth for the federation. Spikes bring grassroots
growth and stability. These efforts lead to the development of the general membership and our leadership pipeline, keeping the
face of the federation true to that of our industry and the scope of interests we represent.
“In this era of excessive regulations and inflated costs, the strength of our membership drives our influence. I think I can speak for
every member when I say how proud we are to be more than 140,000 members strong. Thank you, Spikes, for what – and who –
you bring to the association.”
Jerry Howard, Chief Executive Officer, National Association of Home Builders

President Kevin Koch: Stronger Together
As you know this year’s theme is: Stronger Together. Half way through my year of
presidency, it has been very enlightening working with community partners, such as
Charlotte-Desoto Building Industry Oversight Committee, where employees from the county
and people in the building industry meet to advocate for our community. We have strong
relationships with the Board of Realtors who is kind enough to let us use their home. We
have attending quarterly meeting with all the chambers and the Board of Realtors to see
how we can help each other and better our community. We also have support from many
other organizations; along with the partners in our community we are
STRONGER TOGETHER.
2016 CDBIA President Kevin Koch is the owner of After A Disaster Restoration 24/7 and can be
reached at 866-509-4561 or email [email protected].
Get involved
The Membership Message for this month is “Get Involved”. Make your
membership work for you. Join a committee, attend an event, do business
with other members and most of all this month go to SEBC (South east Building Conference), you won’t regret it. I got the full picture of this association by
attending the SEBC conference back in 2003. This association advocates for
you and your businesses and for the whole industry at the State and National
level.
Come visit me at the DELTA FAUCET Booth at SEBC! For more information on
SEBC, please visit www.sebcshow.com
