Oral Auction Items - Messiah Lutheran School
WELCOME!
Dear Friends and Fans of Messiah Lutheran School,
It is with great joy that I welcome you to our annual dinner auction! I’m so glad you are here.
Tonight’s theme is Let Peace Rule, which is based upon Colossians 3:15. The verse says: “Let the
peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be
thankful.”
Be thankful! When I consider St. Paul’s words in regard to our school ministry my initial response
is a very sincere, “How could I not be thankful?!” As I reflect on our students, families, teachers
and staff, I do so with gratitude in my heart to God. As I look around the room tonight and see the
many people who attended this event in love to support our school…I am overwhelmed. As I page
through this book and view the generous gifts given…I know that we are blessed. As I note the
many hours of hard work poured into tonight’s event by our auction committee and team of
helpers…I am speechless. As I think about the future of our school and the new technology
planned through our Fund a Need…I am excited.
Wow! God is good! Let Peace Rule and be thankful! I sure am!
Have a great time tonight and FIRE UP LIONS!
Pastor Chuck

THANK YOU!
Dear Friends of Messiah Lutheran School,
Peace Out! Do you like our school theme for the year? More importantly, can you think of any
more peaceful way to parent than sending your child to a school that Loves Jesus? Learns from
Jesus? Lives for Jesus? That would be Messiah Lutheran School!
How appropriate the theme for the Auction this year finds its roots in the school theme for the
year. Certainly the Auction theme, Let Peace Rule, provides all of us sage advice on how to
conduct our lives at home, school, work, and the community. Just listen to the words from
Colossians 3:15: “Let the peace of Christ Rule in your hearts.”
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for being here tonight and supporting Messiah Lutheran School.
Please know your presence at this event is inspiring to all of us at Messiah. Your generosity will
have a lasting impact on the lives of our precious children.
Blessings on your evening. It’s a great day to be a Lion!
Dr. Tom Guenzler

number. Silent auction tables close at various times throughout the evening.

confusion as the tables close.
The auction committee has given considerable care to the publication of this catalog.
Items received after the printing of this catalog will be provided to you in the Auction

We regret any errors or omissions.

2016 Fund-A-Need
Technology
Playground
Expansion
This year’s Fund-A-Need project is centered
on cutting edge technology for our staff and
students. Our vision and goal for the
Messiah technology plan is to help our
students, teachers, staff, and families grow in their use of technology in an effort to move into 21 st
century education. Technology can improve communication, instruction, and problem-solving
skills for both students and teachers. Messiah Lutheran School will incorporate technology across
the curriculum for preschool through grade eight. These opportunities will prepare Messiah
students for the next step of their education.
Providing our students with the best tools in today’s world prepares them for the journey ahead.
This journey extends through their Messiah experience into high school and beyond. It also helps
us arm our talented staff with the best means to execute their important jobs. We are excited
about the impact this project will have on the entire community at Messiah Lutheran School!
We are thankful to our technology committee, who spend much time determining our needs,
researching the right solutions and writing a long term plan. Please help us raise the necessary
funds needed to execute our goals!
Equipment Needed
 120 Microsoft Cloudbooks, allowing for 1:1 usage in 3rd -8th grades
 4 Cloudbook Storage Carts, necessary for charging and storage
 19 iPad Mini 2, peripheral interactive devices for PreS – 2nd
 19 AppleTVs, expanding teacher abilities to use SMARTboards with access to TED
talks
Expected Outcomes
 Existing laptops go to PreS & PreK teachers for SMART technology usage
 Every student will have equal access to technology
 Maintenance & support available for 3 years
 Technology used autonomously, cooperatively, securely and properly
 Every student in grades K-3 will receive basic technological skills for literacy,
mathematic, problem-solving, research, and keyboarding.
 Every student in grades 4 & 5 will demonstrate the ability to complete a research
project utilizing technological resources in addition to print resources
 Every student exiting 5th grade will demonstrate basic computer competencies,
including the use of Microsoft 365 access
 Students in 6th – 8th grades will learn and become efficient in web-based project
creation and collaboration (critical skill for high school and college)
We need $45,000 to successfully implement and support this plan.
We need your help tonight to make this happen!
Fund-A-Need donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Help Us
Let Technology Rule
With the Fund-A-Need
Did you know that many employers support your personal charitable contributions
through matching funds? Messiah Lutheran School welcomes this additional gift to
broaden our donor base and support our Fund-A-Need campaign. This year’s FundA-Need supporting the school technology plan will give our students the technology
they need to succeed! It is the Auction Committee’s goal to raise enough money to
fully complete the purchase of all necessary equipment and provide 3 years of
support and maintenance. Corporate Giving initiatives are one way we are hoping to
achieve this goal.
