67th glorious year
of Indian Independence
The spirit of patriotism was at its pinnacle on 15th August, 2013, when
the Varunites remembered the role of our valiant freedom fighters in
achieving freedom. The glorious Indian history evoked today's youth to
tread on the path, left behind by our great leaders. To mark the beginning
of such a historical day, the tricolor was hoisted by our Director, Mrs.
Bharti Madhok and Deputy
Director, Mrs. Amrita Burman.
Their enlightening words
instilled patriotic zeal and
fervour among the students.
This was followed by a patriotic
song sung by the school choir
and Nai Roshni children. The
programme came to an end with
the distribution of sweets as a

KG Section Activities :
Poem:
He was determined
He ran; he ran,
He knew he can.
He was so determined,
That he jumped and crawled,
From the cave of demons.
He ran from the deadly woods,
He ran on the path of rocks,
Without any escorts,
He walked alone in the barren desert,
In the scorching sun
And on the golden sand.
He ran, he ran,
Because he knew he can !!!

Tech Word
The Tech Fight
We would be comparing two leading
mobile phones, which are known to be the
kings of the touch generation. On one side
we have Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Starting
with dimensions, Xperia is 6.4 inch
touchscreen, 6.5 mm thick and weight 212
g while iPhone 5 is a 4 inch touchscreen,
7.6 mm thick and weighs 112 g. Its seen
that Xperia is slimmer but heavier than
iPhone5. Coming on to the display, Xperia
has 8 MP rear and 2 MP front camera and a
lifelike HD resolution of 344 ppi, whereas
iPhone5 has 8 MP rear and 1.2 MP front
camera and resolution of 326 ppi. So the
display round goes to Xperia. Networking
and Battery round would also go to
Xperia, with a better WiFi and battery of
3000 mAh compared to 1440 mAh
battery of iPhone5. In the case of operating
system, iPhone has high advanced iOS6 with built-in features like Siro,
whereas Xperia has the immensely popular (as in India) Android 4.2.2.
In nutshell, if you want a good smart phone i.e. Android in a
relatively small price you should opt Xperia, but if you want an
impressive and costly phone to boast and flaunt, you may go for an
Apple iPhone 5.
