Who’s Who in the Cast
________________________________________________________________________
Jared Caudle as Jesus
After 25 years of auditions and encores, and over 60 different shows, Jared Caudle
is happy to escape his managerial day job for his first production at ACT. This
show has been on his bucket list since the beginning! “Thank you, Jim Mosher,
ACT, cast and crew, and of course, you the audience! Love to family and friends. Theater is the
cheapest therapy I know so come along for the ride and have fun!”
John Phythyon as Judas
A multi-talented individual, John is the author of the Wolf Dasher series of
fantasy adventure novels. ACT audiences may remember they last saw him in his
comic play, “Isabelle,” which was produced by ACT for the 2011 season. The show
was the season opener that year and was not only written by John, but directed by him and
featured him in the starring role. He’s wanted to play Judas in “Jesus Christ Superstar” since
he was 12 years old and is extremely grateful to his family and to Jim Mosher for giving him
the opportunity.
Sarah Sharkey as Mary Magdalene
Sarah is delighted to return to the ACT stage where she last appeared as a
multitude of characters in ACT’s “Every Christmas Story Ever Told!” Her other
recent appearances include Ad Astra Theater Ensemble’s production of Stephen
Sondheim’s “Company” and their annual 24 Hour Play Festival. A proud graduate of Washburn
University, she now spends her days helping others pursue their passion at Washburn Institute
of Technology. Sarah would like to dedicate her involvement in this show to her fellow cast
members for their fellowship and camaraderie, and to those who have encouraged her to
follow her performing passion.
Rick Bixler as Pontius Pilate and Simon Zealotes
Rick brings a long history of his talent to our stage. Although this is his first
production for ACT, he has performed on just about every other stage in the
area. When not on stage he is often behind the piano playing accompaniment to
various musical performances. Most recently Rick has appeared in “Bluegrass & Apple Jam”
and “USO Variety Show” at the Break Room with Karen Hastings, as well as in “1776,” “Crazy
for You,” and “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at Helen Hocker Theater.
Robert (Bert) Miller as Herod, Annas and Apostle
Bert is the Artistic Director of ACT, and has directed and designed many shows
over the past several years. Prior to his work at ACT he earned an MA in Theatre
Administration from Emporia State University and performed, directed or
worked backstage at Showcase Dinner Theatre in Topeka, Hayden High School, Topeka Civic
Theatre, Washburn University Theatre, and Helen Hocker Theatre.
Terrance Yates as Caiaphas
An accomplished artist, performer and cook, Terry Yates is also former Board
Member for ACT. Last seen playing piano and singing in “Every Christmas Story
Ever Told,” (for which he cooked one of the dinners) Terry joins us again onstage.
His artwork has often been a part of ACT scenery and this show is no exception. Terry wants
to thank the veteran actors in the show who have been a source of inspiration from rehearsal
one.
Levi Ludwick as Peter
We are lucky to have Levi appearing on our stage. His time is usually very busy
since he is the new father of beautiful triplets, a boy and two girls, Jude, Moorley
and Eisley. Levi is making his debut on the ACT stage, but is very much a part of
our theater family. His wife, Stephanie sang in our Christmas show last season.
Cheryl Franklin as Follower
Cheryl has been a regular on the ACT stage since 2008 and a member of the ACT
Board. In her freetime she is a single mom of two teens and a Graphic Designer.
“Thanks to all the cast for their awesome work... you are all wonderful! Also thank
you to my family for their support!”
Cary Granger as Apostle
This is Cary’s debut on the ACT stage. No stranger to performance, he has acted
in films and short movies and performs comedy. In his spare time, Cary is a selfemployed turkey farmer.
Chuck Hampton as Apostle, Priest
Chuck has previously helped backstage and in our concession and kitchen in past
productions. This is his on stage debut. In his spare time Chuck works for the
Kansas Neurological Institute.
Gayle Hassler as Follower
Gayle is usually backstage in our productions, either stage managing or running
our crews and finding our props. A talented singer, she is gracing our presence
with her voice in this show. Gayle has an extensive background in community and
professional theatre around the country.
Tonia Hunter as Follower
This is Tonia’s first time on our stage. She is on the Praise Team at Burlingame
Federated Church and Queen for Burlingame Busy Bodies Red Hatters. We’re
glad to have her join or onstage family.
Debra Jackson as Follower
Having just moved to the area from far away, Debra owes her “love of the theatre
to Mary Yarnell, radio actress and director of South Whitley Productions.” She is
excited to make her ACT debut.
Kenneth Liddle as Apostle, Soldier
Ken is making is performance debut on our stage in this production. However
audiences have seen him on stage before, moving the set in our recent production
of “Noises Off.” Ken has volunteered in a number of different jobs at ACT.
Emilie Lunsford as Follower, Soul Girl
An active member of the Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, Emilie is
also a member of the Shawnee Choral Society for over 10 years. This is her debut
on the ACT Stage. She is thrilled to be part of the ACT family!
Wendy Lunsford-Baruth as Follower
Wendy has been on a theater sabbatical since 1996. We’re glad she decided to join
us. She is a member of Susanna Wesley UMC and is a 5th Grade teacher at Maude
Bishop Elementary School. She thanks her husband David for being a super dad
with their two girls.
Jeni Thomas as Follower
Jeni was last seen at ACT as Poppy the stage manager in “Noises Off.” She played
Sister Robert Anne in “Nunsense.” She also works tirelessly at TCT and other area
theaters.
Lori J. Vrbanac as Follower, Soul Girl
Having performed in “Jesus Christ Superstar” in 1977, Lori would like to thank
“fellow cast members and director for the fun. My parents who still encourage me.
And most of all…my husband Bill for his support. I love you!”
Jim Mosher – Director, Conductor
Classically trained in voice and oboe, Jim is a professional musician in the Topeka
area. Although rarely seen on stage (the last time was in “For the Troops 2009”)
he is active in every show. He can be caught building set, hanging the lights, or
behind the piano coaching the singers and wielding a baton in front of the orchestra.
Gina Mangiaracino – Choreographer
Gina earned her bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Kansas. Her
experience and expertise in this field is vast, having studied with such notable
choreographers as Gus Giordano, Bill Evans, Jose Limon, Honya Holm, Luigi,
Martha Graham, Bella Lewitsky, Alvin Ailey, and Elizabeth Sherbon. She has performed
and taught for the University of Kansas, Jazz Dance Chicago, Pittsburg State University, and
Washburn University. Currently, Gina instructs ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, ballroom,
and liturgical dance for Barbara’s Conservatory of Dance. She serves as Ballet Midwest’s
Education Co-Chairman for the Board of Directors and is the Dance Director for the Melody
Brown Fun Factory for the Arts. Gina’s passion for dance and teaching shines through all that
she does. Her husband, Dan, often joins her in dance productions, and their 13 year old son,
Daniel, pursues piano and dance seriously.
Kristi Baker – Rehearsal pianist & accompanist
Last scene on the ACT stage as the pianist for “The Fantasticks,” Kristi has directed
numerous high school musical productions during her 32 year tenure as a public
school music educator. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano
performance from KU. Kristi was the orchestra director for TCT’s most recent production of
“The Sound of Music.”
Stephanie Ludwick – Stage Manager
Before becoming a mother, Stephanie performed musically for ACT audiences in
last season’s “Every Christmas Story Ever Told.” She joins her family in working
on this production with husband Levi playing Peter and father Terry as Caiaphas.
What with caring for her triplets and working full time, we’re very lucky to get some of her
attention.

ACT is an all-volunteer organization. If you would like to join us please leave your name and
contact information with our concession or box office staff. We have lots of opportunities to
work both on stage, back stage and in the house, kitchen, and concession stand. You can do
something as easy as ushering and greeting our audience members, or as complex as climbing
ladders to the gym ceiling to hang lights.
The silver wish buckets can be found at our box office and concession stand. We will gratefully
accept any donations you may wish to drop in a bucket before, during or after the show. Your
donations help us improve our theater. They have been instrumental in providing us with the
ability to purchase necessary equipment. We are currently hoping to improve our sound and
lighting equipment.
Thank you for coming. If you enjoy yourself, please spread the word. We don’t spend a lot of
money on advertising so our best ads are your kind words. Tell your friends and neighbors
about us. We strive to be the best entertainment value in the area…quality entertainment at
family affordable prices!
