From the Director’s Chair
Aloha kāua,
As 2009 comes to a close, I want to extend our heartfelt appreciation
to everyone who participated in our 2nd Annual Kauikeaouli Literacy
Fair. It was clearly evident from the consistent crowds under the book
vendor tent, nothing beats lying down or curling up with a book in hand. A literate
people. A strong nation. In the words of Kauikeaouli, “He aupuni palapala ko‘u.” My
kingdom is one of literacy.
In October 2010, Ka Waihona Puke ‘Ōiwi will celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We
look forward to continuing to fulfill ALU LIKE’s mission and our purpose.
