On 17th October Shanti Asiatic School, Jaipur celebrated ‘DEEPAWALI’, the festival of lights, by organizing a cultural
programme wherein a wide variety of activities were held. The school adorned the festive look with staff decked in
traditional attire. The Assembly area had Diwali theme decoration. The front office area and corridors were decorated
with colourful Rangolis of fresh flower petals.
Activity Boards and each class rooms were also decorated in accordance with Diwali theme. Diwali cards made by the
students added extra galore to it.
The auspicious day began with Laxmi-Poojan by Principal Sir. He lit the
lamp with the aspiration to lead us to light.
A Skit was performed by 15 students depicting the importance
of saying ‘NO’ to crackers and celebrating a pollution free diwali as the
pollution so caused harms the ozone layer which further results in
causing fatal ailments. Thus, the message of protecting our natural
environment was spread. Impressive Speeches, Songs and Dance
performances followed. Mr. Rajeev Garg, Director and Principal, Shanti
Asiatic School, Jaipur motivated the students to celebrate an Ecofriendly Diwali.
On 17th October, Inter House Competition was held in school, which was theme of Diwali and festivities.
Various In-house competitions such as Card Making, Thali Decoration, Bandarwar Making were also organized
but the Class Decoration Competition was the highlight of the day. Students participated enthusiastically and showcased
their talents.
Classes I, II participated in the card making competition with the theme of Diwali and New Year.For the students
of class III, IV Diya decoration Competition was organised whereas for classes VI, VII Thali decoration, Bandhanwar
making and Rangoli making were organized.
Students were excited as the activities were of their choice and they participated very enthusically.

Digital Art Festival was held on 28 October 2014 in Shanti Asiatic School, The painting competition rolled out by NIIT,
for school students. This painting competition using technology is aimed at enabling the young minds to express their
creativity through technology. Students of grade VI and VII participated enthusiastically in Digital Art Festival. Topic
was Fifa World Cup. The students expressed their views beautifully in their paintings.
This initiative has seen large number of children participating from both urban and rural India using computers as the
medium. In the past, this competition has seen with very overwhelming response from the school children, ably supported
by enthusiastic teachers and parents. The competition saw entries even from remote corners of India including Assam,
Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and
Punjab.
Educational robotics is learning environment in which the people involved are motivated by the design and construction
of robots.
It gives wings to ones imagination to create a machine to help individual in different assignments using mechanical
engineering, Electrical engineering and Computer Science.
Shanti Asiatic School, Jaipur also introduced Robotics this year.
School is providing Robotics training to students of class IV to VII.
In October our students participated in Robofiesta-2014, is a National Championship organized by Times Globacom(p)
ltd. In association with Amalthea, Indian Institute of technology, Gandhinagar with international certification.
Robofiesta-2014 was 3 stage event where in at first stage training round held at Shanti Asiatic School, Jaipur. Second
stage was the competition( Zonal round) were held at the end of the training again at Shanti Asiatic School, Jaipur.
And in the last stage winners of Zonal round went to represent their school at IIT Gandhinagar in Grand Finale at 11 and
12 october.. Total 18 students were participated In Robofiesta-2014 from Shanti Asiatic School. In Zonal round group of
four students(Akshat Choudhary, Ankit Sharma, Mohit Agarwal, Akshit Sharma) was the winner and represented the
school at Amalthea at IT Gandhinagar and got certificates of merit.
