May 17, 2015 The Ascension of the Lord
He ascended into Heaven, and seated at the
right hand of God, the Father almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the
living and the dead.
Christ’s ascension marks the definitive entrance of Jesus’
humanity into God’s heavenly domain, whence he will
come again (cf. Acts 1:11); this humanity in the meantime
hides him from the eyes of men. (CCC665)
Jesus Christ, the head of the Church, precedes us into the
Father’s glorious kingdom so that we, the members of his
Body, may live in the hope of one day being with him for
ever. (CCC666)
Jesus Christ, having entered the sanctuary of heaven once
and for all, intercedes constantly for us as the mediator
who assures us of the permanent outpouring of the Holy
Spirit (CCC667)

This session will cover:
 How the Holy Spirit builds, animates, and
sanctifies the Church, bringing souls into
communion with God so that they bear fruit and
give witness to Christ
 How the Holy Spirit is the bond of love between
the Father and the Son, and how God’s love has
been poured into our hearts through the Holy
Spirit
 The ways the Holy Spirit makes us holy
Attendance to prior sessions is not a requirement.

Religious Education - Is it Over?
Religious Education doesn’t end because it’s June or the
thermometer reads 70+. If our children do not attend Mass
weekly during the school year and sporadically during the
summer, the hidden message conveyed to them is the “the
Church is NOT important”. If they attend Mass weekly
from September to June and slow down during the summer
months, the hidden message is “God is important when
it is convenient”. Let yourself think back to your
childhood days, to attending Mass and other services, to
the customs in your home. Do you see now how these
Liturgical Memories and Traditions came together to make
you who you are and what you believe? What do you want
for yourself and your family? What we do today, this
summer, this year plays a part in the decisions our children
will make, in the choices they choose, and in the
consequences they receive.
Change for Babies
Pregnancy Hope Center (PHC) is dedicated to helping
women with unexpected or unwanted pregnancies with
free pregnancy tests, peer counseling, resources, and
information in support of birth options instead of abortion.
Your support helps the PHC extend the love of Jesus and
empower women to love their babies and make choices for
life.
Pregnancy Hope Center’s annual Baby Bottle Campaign
continues until Father’s Day.
 Pick up a bottle after the service; fill it with
change, bills or checks.
 Bring it back to the church when it’s full or any
time before Father Day.
 If you fill it up early, feel free to pick up a second
bottle to fill!

Jesucristo, cabeza de la Iglesia, nos precede en el Reino
glorioso del padre para que nosotros, miembros de su
cuerpo, vivamos en la esperanza de estar un día con El
eternamente. (CCC666)
Jesucristo, habiendo entrado una vez por todas en el
santuario del cielo, intercede sin cesar por nosotros como
el mediador que nos asegura permanentemente la
efusión del Espíritu Santo. (CCC667)

¿Qué significa para nosotros la enseñanza de Jesús sobre el
reino de Dios? Cuando seguimos a Jesús, cuando vivimos
sus ejemplos y somos guiados por el Espíritu Santo
ayudamos a construir el reino de Dios. Somos llamados a
llevar el amor de dios al mundo a todos los pueblos y a toda
la creación.

¿Educación Religiosa Ha terminado?
La Educación Religiosa no debe terminar porque sea
junio o por que el termómetro marque 70º grados. Si
nuestros niños no asisten a Misa dominical durante el año
escolar y o durante el verano, entonces el mensaje se les
transmite inconscientemente es el que “la Iglesia no es
importante”. Si asistieron a misa todos los domingos de
septiembre a junio y comienza a reducir su participación
durante los meses de verano, el mensaje oculto es el que
“Dios es importante cuando es conveniente”.
Acuérdate tus días de infancia, donde asistí al a la misa y
a otros servicios, y como también hizo a las costumbres
en su familia. ¿Ves ahora como estas Memorias Y
Tradiciones Litúrgicas se unieron para hacerle lo que
usted es y lo que usted cree? ¿Qué es lo que quiere para
ti y su familia? Lo que hacemos hoy, o en este verano, o
este ano reflecta en las decisiones de nuestros hijos y en
las opciones que elijan y sus concequencias.
Las clases son los jueves, en el Salón Parroquial a las 7:00 PM

Centro de Esperanza para el Embarazo / Pregnancia Hope
Center (PHC) se dedica a ayudar a las mujeres con
embarazos inesperados o no deseados proveyendo pruebas
de embarazo gratis, consejería para parejas, recursos e
información de apoyo para las opciones de parto en lugar
del aborto. Su apoyo ayuda al PHC a extender el amor de
Jesús y la autonomía de las mujeres para amar a sus hijos y
tomar decisiones para la vida.
Por eso, la campana anual del Centro de Esperanza para el
Embarazo continuara hasta el Día del padre.
 Tome una botella después de la Misa, llénalas y
traiga o en cualquier día antes o en el Día del
Padre.

La próxima semana es el domingo de Pentecostés
A little boy in a bestselling book who is
said to have died and
gone to heaven was
asked to describe the
Holy Spirit.
He
paused for a moment
and then said, “Hmm,
that’s kind of a hard
one.”
We can all
identify. Describing
the Holy Spirit is hard. We all have mental images of Jesus
and God the Father, but the Holy Spirit…?
En un libro muy vendido, un niño pequeño, de quien se
dice que murió y fue al cielo, y regreso, fue entrevistado y
se le pidió que describiera al Espíritu Santo es algo muy
difícil.” Creo que todos nos podemos identificar con esto.
Describir al Espíritu Santo es difícil. Todos tenemos
imágenes mentales de Jesús y de Dios Padre, pero, ¿del
Espíritu Santo…?
Perhaps you picture a dove, or tongues of fire, or a rushing
wind as at the first Pentecost. Alternatively, maybe you
don’t have any mental picture at all. That’s okay. What’s
more important than an image is your relationship with
the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of
the Holy Trinity - the bond of love between the Father and
the Son – who comes into our souls at Baptism, making us
sons and daughters of the Living god. By learning to know
and love the Holy spirit, we become transformed and we
can, in the words of the traditional prayer to the Holy
Spirit, help “renew the face of the earth.”
Come Holy Spirit,
Fill the hearts of your faithful
And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit
And they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
Did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
Grant that by the same Holy Spirit
We may be truly wise
And ever enjoy His consolations.
Through Christ Our Lord,
Amen.
Tal vez te imaginas una paloma, o lenguas de fuego, o un
viento recio como en el primer Pentecostés. O quizás, no
tienes absolutamente ninguna imagen mental.
No
importa. Lo que es más importante que una imagen es tu
relación con el Espíritu Santo. Es el Espíritu Santo, la
tercera Persona de la Santísima Trinidad, el vinculo de
amor entre el padre y el Hijo, que llega a nuestras almas en
el Bautismo, que nos hace hijos e hijas del Dios vivo. Al
aprender a conocer y amar al Espíritu Santo, llegamos a ser
transformados y podemos, en las palabras de la oración
tradicional al Espíritu Santo, ayudar a “renovar la faz de la
tierra.”
Ven, Espíritu Santo,
Llena los corazones de Tus fieles
Y enciende en ellos el fuego de Tu amor.
Envía Señor Tu Espíritu
Y todo será creado.
Y se renovara la faz de la tierra.
Oh Dios, quien por la luz del Espíritu Santo,
Instruiste los corazones de los fieles,
Concédenos que por el mismo Espíritu Santo
Podamos ser realmente sabios
Y gocemos siempre de Tu consuelo.
